In 1823, Moroni appeared to Joseph privately and said, "that my name should be had for good and evil among all nations, kindreds, and tongues, or that it should be both good and evil spoken of among all people." How unlikely for a 17 year-old farm boy in 1823 in upstate NY. But it has been fulfilled and you have helped. Here is some evidence you can begin with and there is plenty more.
Check out the other prophet "Ellen White" (make sure to visit the pro-sites too, not just skeptic ones), and let me know your thoughts. I personally feel she blows Joseph Smith out of the water.
@sunburst68 I did at the age of 19 when I converted to the Church. I'm now 21 and am steadily active in the Church, preparing to serve a mission! What I ask you to do is actually read some of the Book of Mormon and to pray before and after reading it. Try this for seven straight days and see how you feel about it. Thats exactly what I did and I now know for myself that it is where God wants me to be. Also try visiting the Church for Sacrament meeting!
The problem is, you can pray all you want, but archaeology does not support the claims of Joseph Smith regarding certain kinds of people in North America, or any evidence of the Messiah visiting them. But archaeology definitely supports the Bible.

@Raymon7777777 True, but in the hebrew scriptures it says that any man who changes torah is a false prophet who should be killed. Scripturally Jesus was a fraud who deserved to die too. So it would seem jesus and Joseph have something in common after all, both have scriptural precedents against them in the prior established religious cannons.

@playhousempls Actually yeah they are finding really cool evidences that are pretty interesting, but I don't believe all of this stuff based on that. I actually read the book of mormon to find out if it was true and asked God through prayer after finishing the book. God answered my prayer and I personally know that it is true independent of anything else. Anyone can do this. Also the bible has already been through so many translations and each differs that we don't have the complete origina

Like evidence of horses being around before Christopher Columbus brought them to America. Even elephants! They have found elephant bones that date back to the times of the BOM. Plus they found caves that talk about a a beast with 2 large horns at the front of his mouth and a round foot...hmmm

There certainly were huge battles in the Americas back then, but there were no horses. There was a weapon that was made from obsidian blades sandwiched between two boards that the Spanish described as a sword, but it was more like a baseball bat with shards of broken glass sticking out. More common though were spears, atalatl, war clubs, bows and arrows, and bolas. The Incas also had copper halberds, but some argue that those were purely ceremonial.

Whoopty doo !!!!! Why does any one believe that this man, "who history portrays, as a treasure hunter, a liar, and a con man" is a profit of God ? I have a hard time believing so. Just as many have done , I have asked the Lord in prayer, if the Mormon church is true and I feel I have been told that it is not. There is so much evidence against and absolutely none for. For all of you who put your faith in the Church and its teachings, You'd better pray the church is right.

@sunburst68 You are fulfilling the prophecy given by the angel Moroni to Joseph when he was just a boy. In 1823, Moroni appeared to Joseph privately and said, "that my name should be had for good and evil among all nations, kindreds, and tongues, or that it should be both good and evil spoken of among all people." How unlikely for a 17 year-old farm boy in 1823 in upstate NY. But it has been fulfilled and you have helped. Here is some evidence you can begin with and there is plenty more.

@sunburst68 I did at the age of 19 when I converted to the Church. I'm now 21 and am steadily active in the Church, preparing to serve a mission! What I ask you to do is actually read some of the Book of Mormon and to pray before and after reading it. Try this for seven straight days and see how you feel about it. Thats exactly what I did and I now know for myself that it is where God wants me to be. Also try visiting the Church for Sacrament meeting!

The problem is, you can pray all you want, but archaeology does not support the claims of Joseph Smith regarding certain kinds of people in North America, or any evidence of the Messiah visiting them. But archaeology definitely supports the Bible.

@awolLDSasap I agree, 1843 is late, like the Lightner painting and other pics. But this Pic is first rate. You can look right at him. And there is art showing similar likeness and he is not 37. It's interesting to look at all pictures with one eye covered, (etc) helps to see little things.
