  • you can just use the pizza as a frisbee...

  • No with more lead, for the kiddies.

  • Does the frisbee light up and have sound effects? Otherwise I don't want it.

  • I remember getting the wackey clackers at shakey's before they became illegal.

  • OMG THAT'S HOLLY before she went with Will and her dad to the laaaa-aaand of the lost-ost-ost-ost.

  • Some of the places I go usually don't have much of a quality place but then the pizza is awesome! I don't know why...

  • That looks good... I wonder if my Dad ever went there...

  • Shakeys pizza is really good, but looking back on this commercial 40 years later, it looks creepy as hell now with those damn bears! Lol!!

  • @MrJuly1990ish There are still some Shakey's Pizza franchises??? I use to go to my local one & they use to show old Laurel & Hardy Movies That is when the Juke box was not playing. First Pizza joint I ever went to & could watch Pizzas being made.

  • @Lazyike67

Yeah, there still quite a few here in Southern California where I live.

  • I loved Shakeys. Gotta watch them make the pizza throough the window. You sat and ate at picnic tables.

  • I actually had one of those goofy shakeys pizza hats. Drove my parents nuts because I wouldnt take it off. lol

  • @liverleef do you still have it on?

  • @wallofvideo Yes and you can't have it.

  • @liverleef rats, i guess i'll have to find someone with a farrell's straw hat.

  • Shakey's was the bomb in 1970, pizza, atmosphere, soccer parties, etc. Completely downhill nowadays.

  • If I were to take stem cells next to a Shakey's Pizza, they would recreate another Shakey's Pizza!!!!

  • Shakey's fucking sucked so did their shitty frisbees.

  • ...What the fuck is a frisbee?

  • Where were these? Don't remember ever seeing one out west.

  • Kids in this commercial are probably pushing 50...time flies

  • @mitchdfla and the bears are probably in a home for retired animals along with mr. ed and the cast of lancelot linc.

  • in a way i'm glad all the shakeys in my state closed, if i went there again as an adult it would probably be a huge disappointment

  • I remember I worked at Shakey's when I was 15. It was one of the worst jobs I've ever had

  • The Three Bears' favorite topping at Shakey's? Finely chopped Goldilocks.

  • Is Shakey's around anymore?

  • @SteevDragon67 I'm not sure, but the one I went to as a child in my town has been closed for over 30 years, and I have never seen another one...not since about 1978. They had great pizza, or at least I thought it was as a kid.

  • @whatanightmare1

Shakeys in the mid 70's was the best. The hot super cheesy pizza with extra pepperoni was always top notch back then. The restaurant atmosphere had that medieval feel to it.

There loooooooooooong since gone like a proverbial pepperoni burp in the wind.

Great times , great times. Thank you Shakeys

  • @GORDITO1000 It was yummy, indeed. My mom and I used to get one with Canadian bacon and pineapple that we loved. I remember those long tables in there, and the one here seemed to be quite dark, if memory serves.

  • had it for the first time in 20 years the other night. no wonder i haven't been back. round table rip-off price, limp-dick dough. cheesey mojos still go, tho; in soCal I remember Shakey's, Straw Hat, Lampost. Shakey's bought up a bunch of BIGS Pizzas a few years ago.

  • Commercials like this remind me of when America used to be white and it was a much better country.

  • when i was 10 i was watching the shakey's guy make our pizza and he flipped me off for no reason. told the manager, and he fired him on the spot. boo-yah!

  • Is that Nellie Olson's wig that she is wearing? LOL!

  • That Little Blonde Girl With Curly Hair In The Beginning Of The Commercial Is A Very Young Kathy Coleman "Holly Marshall" From The 1970's TV Show "Land Of The Lost"

  • You would have to give me a free frisbee as I would have been scared shitless by those evil looking bears serving my pizza

  • That's Willard Scott doing the voice over.

  • LOOK!!!! A FRISBY!!!!!

  • a frisbee holy shit? like was that before the internet?

  • Frisbee? FAR OUT!

  • Did I say Shaky's? I meant Shakey's. After you have spit out phlegm on carboard, you are so repulsed that you aren't thinking clearly, and typos may occur.

  • Come on down to Shaky's. Where the pizza is like phlegm on cardboard.

  • A FREE FRISBY!?!?!? AWWWWWWWWWWWW SHIT!!!!

  • My dad used to work at Shakey's Pizza.

  • Chucky Cheese Motherfucker!!!!!

  • @Evo10Rocks Chucky Cheese was in his daddys nutsack in 1970 fool. He wasn't born til '77

  • @njboricuaparati Who the fuck cares when he was born

    CHUCKY CHEESE

  • when the bear said also pizza...lol..that was funny

  • @jacquel12376 yeah i laughed out loud, wasnt expecting that

  • I'm a vegan, but I would eat pizza with bears.

  • @GangStalker You mean you would eat pizza with bear meat toppings right? Is that what you meant?

  • @GangStalker Try vegan pizza? You're always in charge of your toppings. You don't have to select sausage or something.

  • @XSevenSonata No, that's Gordon Jump (best know for his role in WKRP IN CINCINNATI and for being the second Maytag Repairman, after the death of its originator, Jesse White). He's also the guy with the mustache serving the pizza.

  • @tomservo56954 I assume you replied to the wrong comment.

  • Holly from Land of the Lost..... creepy.

  • theres one right by where i live

  • @pariskissz Oh, ha! xDD Glad i'm not the only one. d:

  • SOUTH PARK!!!

  • A free frisbee huh?

  • I've never heard of Shakey's Pizza place before! OO:

    What the fuck?!

  • Wow...I'm pretty sure the 70's fucked a lot of people up.

  • I loved that kid holding the frisbee on that Nickelodeon show Salute your shorts.

  • fuck the pizza i want the frisbee

  • A frisbee?!! Geez Whiz, Mom! I gotta get one of those keen toys!

  • Comment removed

  • Holy shit, Look! A FRISBEE!

  • Shakey's pizza is good, but their fried chicken is like Viagra and Meth at the same time. Hell, I think that's what they use in the batter mix instead of flour!

  • this commercial is creepy.

  • Sad times when the original shop in Sacramento closed...

  • @MisterNES you libe in sacramento! i was just sirfing the web and clicked this for know reason! i didnt know what the heck shakey's pizza was.......

  • @MisterNES That was down at 57th and J. Boo! Bring it back!

  • Now I see why Cartman wanted to use stem cells to build a 'Shakey's'

  • @SuperDiamondDogs Good, but he'd go batshit over Casa Bonita.

  • Holy shit, they gave out free frisbees with pizza at 1970s shakey's. That would be a college student's wet dream.

  • a free rolling tray with your pizza??

  • I think that's the first place I saw Pong and later PAC Man and of course projection TV in the Valley. OMG, I miss Pioneer Chicken.

  • The Shakey's in my neighborhood went out of business four or five years ago :( I had every birthday there, and so did my brother... :(

  • Used to go in nashville as a kid in kate 60's early 70's.. GOOD PIZZA!!

  • A free Frisbee?! I'm going tonight! Oh wait, theyre all closed :-(

  • I like it (modern problems :-)

  • I miss Shakey's pizza & chicken. The closest thing they have to that kind of food now is at a chain called Pizza Ranch.

  • it spins it floats it flies no shakeys here in fla

  • That was horrifying.

  • We used to go to Shakeys every Friday night when I was a kid. My mom and dad would get so drunk drinking beer, they could barely walk. Good times, good times.

  • HOLY SHIT!!! A FRISBEE!!!! I WANT ONE!!!!

  • @KiddJetix It sure is,I had a huge crush on here back then.

  • That frisbee part was kinda creepy.

  • I remember one in St. Louis, MO. It was a blast. I'd go today if I could find one.

  • Was there any Shakey's in Canada ? The only thing we have close to a pizza parlour chain is Boston Pizza .

  • @Pinky39559 Yes, there was a Shakey`s in Surrey, in the early 70`s. I got to talk to J.P. Patches there once!

  • @Pinky39559 Pizza? From Boston of all places? Something got lost in translation, eh?

  • @MattieManhattan I don't think so , Boston Pizza is a Canadian franchise that started in Edmonton , Alberta ( where I live ) back in 1964 and since the late nineties , from what I have just read in Wikipedia , has had restaurants opened in parts of the U.S and Mexico .

  • I work at one of the last 3 shakeys in Washington state!

  • They had great pizza.

  • @KiddJetix A guy on RetroJunk insists that it IS KC, but he offers no evidence. I don't see any reason it couldn't be her, though.

  • @KiddJetix I'm pretty sure that's Kylie Minogue, circa "I Should Be So Lucky".

  • Why didn't anyone tell me Michael J. Fox owned a pizza restaurant?

  • i wonder if i can still get that frisbee :D

  • My volume was kind of low when I first started watching this, and it sounded like the girl said "This is what I call a fat place!" But yeah it was really "fun" lol.

  • Umm. Nothing like bear spittle to jazz up a pizza.

  • Damn, the rats are HUGE in that place.

  • "HEY, KIDS! LOOK A MULLET! BEFORE MULLETS EXISTED!"

  • makes me sad when i think back about my old days going to shakeys, and then realize what has happened to racial indentity in the USA in the 38 years since because of race mixing encouraged by the race nihilism agenda

  • The girl was Kathy Coleman before her "Land Of The Lost" fame. Very cool seeing that commercial.

  • @Tiamat1156 OMG!! she was so HOT!...well....maybe not. The sleestak were better looking, come to think of it.

  • lmao get a free frisby, where no dogs lol thats some funny shit

  • And you can use stem cells to create another Shakey's pizza. (had to put a South Park reference here.)

  • We had a Shakey's pizza here until the 80's sometime...went there after baseball season was over for our team party.

  • man.......a pitcher of root beer, and silent movies playing in the corner...and of course that delicious cheeze pizza!

  • Sweet, my names Shaker! Too bad I don't make delicious retro pizza's or I would be some tough competition

  • yea a free frisby lol

  • wow, a frisby showcased in something that looks like a school picture

  • I loved them too, until I heard about horsemeat in the lunch buffet spaghetti sauce

  • No one not FROM the Puget Sound area believes me, but we actually had a chain of restaurants around Seattle called "Pizza and Pipes", where one would eat pizza and listen/watch someone play a huge pipe organ...

  • @shmuli9 We had one too here in Portland called "The Organ Grinder." A huge pipe organ that took one entire wall and you would go and eat pizza and listen to the guy play. Great pizza too...sadly, it went away in the late 80's.

  • @virnman People don't have class anymore, its all about fast food big capitalism "get in, eat, get the hell out" these days, this effect took place when Reagan got in office, which was in the 80's. Since then as well, it takes two people in a household to make ends meet, and with that we are barely making it today. Before Reagan the man just needed to work, the woman stayed home with the kids, and he got all the vacation a guy could need, watch the movie Capitalism: A Love Story, it explains all

  • @EverWinterNights Oh BROTHER! IT'S A FRIKKIN' PIZZA COMMERCIAL!!!!!

  • @TrekToons Lol, yes it is! :D Sorry I get in rants sometimes. I was just trying to explain to virnman why all that may have happened.

  • The one here had green pop!

  • Hahah, try this new invention its called a Frisbee!

  • shakey's is still around .

  • Is the kid in the yellow dress Kathy Coleman? Holly Marshall from Land of the Lost. This is 1970, and Land of the Lost came out in 1974, so it'd be about right.

  • @ZMOONCHILD It is her.

  • @ZMOONCHILD I would bet money that's her!

  • What's with the bears? Was this like a Chuck E Cheese?

  • shakey's is out of business

  • Too funny. I stumbled on this by accident. I was really young in the late 70's but remember heading to Shaky's after my older brothers basketball games. When your 4 or 5, that was about as good as it got. Here in the Twin Cities they died out quickly, and I don't remember being in a Shaky's (or one being open) from the early 80's on.

  • I remember eating Shakey's Pizza at the Winnipeg, Manitoba location. Great food I recall and also the Fargo, North Dakota location had a contract with the U.S. Military to feed us that were in the process of Enlisting in any of the 5 Service Branches.

  • The frisbee ad at the end is ridiculously random. It looks like a missing persons picture off a milk carton.

  • @tommymarines1 That's exactly what I was just thinking!!! I did love Shakey's though-their pizza sucked but they had fried chicken and these things called jojo potatoes that were chicken fried slices of potato heaven.

  • i went there for my 6th birthday in '71

  • i miss shakeys :(

  • more than 21 kinds of fun?

  • The Reason why America got fat..

  • i miss shakeys

  • I ate a lot of Shakey's pizza when I was a child. Now, in my older years, I have palsy.

  • we still have shakey's here in carson, CA.

  • My Shakey's: Perkins Road/I-240 in Memphis, during early-mid '70s.

Friday night's at Shakey's were the best: Canadian Bacon/Sausage/Onion (the family pie, every time), along with Keystone Cops 2-reelers, Banjo & Piano sing-a-longs, Atari Pong, and of course, watching your pie made through the glass.

The Shakey's Pledge: Pizza-wise, I pledge allegiance to Shakey's. The only real, authentic, first, original, certified genuine family pizza parlor in the world!

  • I loved Shakey's too. Always went to the one in Lake Charles, LA after Cub Scout meetings back in the late '60s.

  • @ridgerunner721601 When did the Lake Charles Shakey's close? In the late 1990's?

  • @ridgerunner721601Nevermind. It must've been a Shoney's, not a Shakey's.

  • Plus crazy hill-billy instruments you could jam with like a jug for a blow'in and a one string bass made with a wash tub, a broom stick and a piece of string. Or maybe this was just in Fairfield. Holy freaking '70s!!

  • I believe the little boy at the end of the commercial with the frisbee is Ricky Schroder who went on to star in Silver Spoons and NYPD Blue. It was his first professional acting job. I remember hearing him talk about it on the Tonight Show long ago. He said Shakey's was always his favorite pizza. Johnny agreed. Ed preferred the beer.

  • @RichietheL This is NOT Ricky Schroder. Rick was born April 13, 1970 and this commercial was in 1970, so how can he be in this commercial? The boy at the end looks nothing like Rick Schroder.

  • i loved shakeys in the early 70s as a kid.Used to have parties there and just eat and eat and eat.We had so much pizza, all of us were literally shitting pizza the next day.

  • @IwontConform LOL at "shitting pizza".

  • The guy hawking frisbees at the end is Willard Scott!

  • Is that Holly from Land of the Lost?

  • @Gorbachenko Yes, that's Holly.

  • @Gorbachenko Yeap,That's Cathy Coleman that played Holly on Land Of The Lost.

  • What he ment to say was: "Hey kids, get a free frizbee with the purchase of a pizza. Now go bug the hell out of your parents til' they bring ya!"

  • they still have them in la

  • dont get me wrong but why a blonde gal always have to be there every where

  • The last time remember goin to Shakey's was when I was like 9...It was around '93. Me and my dad stopped by there on our way home after a Giants game .I believe it was the one in Fairfield. I tried to find it last year and turned out to be a Japanese restaurant. The only thing left of it was the shape of the original sign. lol. I thought there pizza always tasted like it was battered in beer though, but I loved it anyway...Oh, how I wish I tried Shakey's with Crystal Pepsi!

  • I LOVED Shakey's....does it exist anywhere anymore? I remember the turn of the century theme.

  • @gwolb Pizza hut bought them out in the late 80's, now there gross disgusting pizza is everywhere!

  • nice gift with kids meal

  • I used to go to Shakey's, 1970, in L.A. after soccer games. I remember it being delicious pizza then. It is not good anymore. The pizza crust is like a cracker. But the festivities, old movies, and cheerful employees of the early 70s still are great memories.

  • I'm old enough to remember Shakey's pizza, and they made gas station frozen pizza's taste good. You could have used one of theirs for a frisbee just fine.

  • Yup, that's Kathy Coleman, later of Land Of The Lost.

  • It's a FRIZBEE!! RADICAL!

  • Is SHAKEYS still around anywhere or did they all close down?

  • @7DARKHELLS There are some, such as in So. California.

  • Also pizza.

  • Hey kids!

  • The little girl played Holly in the original Land of the Lost tv series.

  • Is Shakey's even still in business?

  • Man, I haven't seen this commercial in ages! I had forgotten about goldie locks and the three bears being in it! Cool! Are there any Shakey's pizza places still around?

  • queer. like a bad dream or such.

  • WOAH PEDOBEAR

  • @Raktoner I think he's servin more than fun and pizza....

    More like servin time!

  • The kid at the end wants to steal your soul.

  • so thats where south park got it from

  • our shakey's pizza in warner robins ga on north houston rd still standing and still serving hot pizza.2 of the macon ga locations are closed.i haven't ate there since the 90's.

  • @raymondclark32 Hey I ate at that Shakey's a couple years ago. I was so excited to see one still around....unfortunately it was AWFUL. Not the Shakey's of old.

  • I was lucky to have had Shakey's Pizza in Hammond, IN back in Summer of 1976. What memories.

  • lol at this

  • THAT IS SUCH A STEAL!!!

  • We had a Shakey's Pizza here in Lake Charles, LA. They always seemed to do a good business. Don't know why they're not still here.

  • @1400deadwood

wikipedia says there comin back to minnesota

  • That little girl is 48 now.

  • Shakey's had the BEST pizza.
