I came across this album in the Seventy and was just amazed by the cover and always be looking for it and now that I've came acroos it Let Your Mind Be Free....
Just heard this song for the first time last week on my journy to fine and funky beats.
this is definitly one of the top 10 songs I have ever heard, the choppy beat and smooth organ really fill it up right. this is a correctly balanced song and idles along like a finely built engine. IMPRESSED AS HELL! I wish there was more, Thank you so so much for posting this song!
Alright I still haven't grabbed my composure entirely.... I've been googling and youtube-ing this song for almost lemme' see (starts counting on fingers) 2002. I'm a younger cat (Chicago born & raised), and by the time I was 13 my parents were in the early 50's. So I've always had tons of beautiful exposure to tunes that I've never forgotten. this is one.
I use to freestyle over this beat with my buddies.... I swear I could cry right now.
@stakesource - I know the feeling man! There are probably dozens of groups/songs/albums like this that will never see a light out of the 70s as a CD, or digital product. Damn shame. But you got one here. I grew up with this album too, and even *I* forgot about this song. It's a nice song.
@stakesource Yes Sir! I feel ya. This is one of those classic "Stepping-Cuts" that'll never fade-away. Your parents probably remember the great times of true "Bopping & Stepping. It's great too read about a young Chi-Cat who knows greatness when he hears it. Keep following the great ones. (Give my channel a listen, and discover some more classics.)
@lowendfella Most Definitely.... if you like this song, I know your channel has a ton of rare gems to offer. Next time you see me, I'll be a subscriber.
This is a true steppers-cut from back in the days. Real stepping was taken-off! This song was a classic for those who possesed style & grace. Shouts-out; too those who traveled the "Steppers-circuit" in those glorious days. (I truly miss those real slims & gents.)
@lowendfella This is a steppers gem, there are not many steppers cuts that can define the the period like "Visions". This is the song of the "70's". As you may well notice not too many post on this one, its truly for the old school.
I heard this in the early 90's while watching the Dusty Steppers do their thing at Chic Rick's in Chicago. I hunted for this LP for over 10 years and finally found it on eBay.
