The first time I heard "Hang On In There" I thought who is this? I didn't think it was Marvin Gaye, but it sure had his "What's Going On" social commentary feel. This song has found itself on numerous compliation cds. Mike James Kirkland was an over achiever and under appreciated west coast singer. This song is a classic.
