  • One of their Best!! :D

  • I want to Karaoke this song and blow the locals minds away with music.

  • Hey fuck you all buddies! Im a hipster and damn proud of it. It takes me an hour to put my skinny jeans on and a further two hours to take them off after a heavy night of looking moody and bumming smokes. Now that's commitment ;)

  • this video blows my mind.

  • I love all types of people, expect for hipsters of course

  • This song gets me so pumped!

  • La canción esta buena; el vídeo esta gay.

  • I hate people who say they hate people. specifically Hipsters.

  • Stop talking about hipsters, who cares if you're one of them or not?! The most important thing is that you listen to this amazing band.

  • when Arcade Fire, or as true hipsters know them as, El Arcade Fuego, won those Grammys, the next day my handlebar mustache escaped in my fixie, fucker even took my American Spirits

  • Before we start with name calling, 3 questions to ask yourself :

    Do I have a moustache?

    Am I 63 yrs old?

    Am I a Hipster?

  • one of the most beautiful songs.

    musically and lyrically

  • This is the song that made me fall in love with them. :D

  • It really doesn't matter who is listening to there music as long as people enjoy, a fucking hood-rat can like for all i care, it will never change my love for this band

  • this gives me chills every time i listen to it

  • I love Arcade Fire. I love Arcade Fire. I love Arcade Fire. I love Arcade Fire. I love Arcade Fire. I love Arcade Fire. I love Arcade Fire. I love Arcade Fire. I love Arcade Fire. I love Arcade Fire. I love Arcade Fire. I love Arcade Fire. I love Arcade Fire. I love Arcade Fire. I love Arcade Fire. I love Arcade Fire. I love Arcade Fire. I love Arcade Fire. I love Arcade Fire. I love Arcade Fire. I love Arcade Fire. I love Arcade Fire. I love Arcade Fire. I love Arcade Fire. I love Arcade Fire.

  • got me through freshman year

  • J'adore cette chanson !

  • ........this video idgi

  • I live in Connecticut, and I am listening to this and "Power Out" as heavy snow causes trees to collapse all throughout my neighborhood. It seems strangely appropriate.

  • @kalkazar13

I live in CT too and also thought of these songs during my 9 days without power!

  • one of the most hearfelt songs ever

  • how have arcade fire never had a big hit, they are one of the best bands ever.

  • Yeah.... a tunnel from my window to yours!

  • I can't say this enough...... This band was the best gift ever given to me!

  • any other songwriter wannabe's extremely discourage by how perfect Win Butler is? hahahaa

  • This feels so much like Bladerunner...

  • This song (album) helped me through a really tough time for my family. Thank you Arcade Fire. it still hurts to listen to it , but its beautiful enough that I listen anyway.

  • My favourite arcade fire song, EPIC!!!

  • My favourite arcade fire song, EPIC!!!

  • i hate when people say i'm a hipster because i don't listen to mainstream music. i just like this music. if it were mainstream i would still love it. who gives a crap? if the stones, the beatles, velvet underground, led zeppelin, etc. were once considered pop, then we're ALL MAINSTREAM in some way. get over it. we just live in a world where it's rare to see mainstream quality. it doesn't mean we should purposefully stay away from anything that is. we have to stop being so stubborn and accept it.

  • @aheard4 Yeah but subcultures are mainly mainstream, cos they take part in everyday culture, and popular (mainstream) culture like watching tv, or listening to the radio :)

  • @aheard4 But Arcade Fire is mainstream....

  • @Radiohead4121 that's exactly why i posted that comment- to show people that i dont want to be put under a classification or genre of human being just because of my taste in music. i find it obnoxious when people say "i don't like arcade fire because everyone knows about them" im not a hipster because i like some mainstream artists (like i said in my previous comment) but i'm not a pop culture enthusiast either. i'm a person who has interest in interesting things. period.

  • A-D-O-R-OOOOOOOOOO³

  • ESTA DE POCA MADRE SU MUSICA, ME GUSTA UN CHINGO, YEAAAHHH ARCADE FIRE BIEN POR USTEDES...

  • I like this video... but I'm not sure it matches this music.

  • And seriously, you couldn't blame me for running there. If you turned around on your sex-robot neck ball-bearings and saw your girlfriend/owner/cougar/slave-master was hauling ass after you with some early-Chuck-Norris-but-slightly-less-absurd-looking cat, you'd have run too! Trust me on that.

  • If some lonely, attractive woman ever sought me out for use as the attractive-man sex-bot I am, and then we did it, and then I rolled out to get some motor oil or something to eat and I traded shirts with some white while I was rolling around out there... And then...! She and some mustache-having thug-retrieval bot came and grabbed my shiny metal ass, dragged me back to our sex-pad and she put me down with a shot of some good drug right in my red robot-neck bindi, I'd be way disappointed in her.

  • Great band. I'm not a hipster. They are clearly hipsters. Hipsters clearly like them. Lets all get along?

  • you change all the lead sleepin' in my head,..te la dedico :P!!!

  • great song, but grrrrreat video!!

  • WHAT. THE. FUCK.

This is a fucked up video. Good song though.

  • My cockatiels love this song..so there.

  • I like the song until 1:58 and then it just gets a bit too grating and convoluted. Good band though.

  • The music box-ish intro sounds like another song that's been on a lot of commercials. Any ideas as to what song it is?

  • if u love the arcade fire as much as i do check out The Crooked Squares music on myspace or facebook

  • said it before

cross..... Cure / Talking Heads/ELO / and Tom Petty.... Equals A/C

  • Has a bit of a Talking Heads sound - really dig these guys

  • Make no mistake, if you like this band, there is about a 95% chance you are a hipster douche bag. Those of you that are part of the 5%, congrats.

  • @LumpyAdams Make no mistake, 97.6% of internet statistics are either made up or biased. Shut up and enjoy the music. Or don't. Your call.

  • @LumpyAdams

You realize that Arcade Fire is hardly an underground band? xD

Thus, any hipsters attempting to use them as hipster leverage would fail irrecoverably.

  • @xxxamewarashi Yeah, the hipsters liked them before they were cool :-P

  • Very Pink Floyd-esque.

    I LOVE it.

  • I LOVE Arcade Fire. I HATE Hipsters. Am I doing it wrong ?

  • @vmackey hipsters aren't worth hating but sure man

  • @vmackey completely agree! Arcade Fire are amazing and everyone I know who has listened to them adores them. I do not know any hipsters (and don't want to lol)

  • @vmackey so many people think that arcade fire is a band for hipsters, but arcade fire actually wrote a song to attack hipsters. Rococo from "the suburbs" talks about the shallowness of hipsters, look up the lyrics.

  • @vmackey No... we're doing it right. Never underestimate the power of a great haircut though. :)

  • @vmackey yes.

  • @vmackey me too. You're doing right!

  • @vmackey

You really shouldn't care much about Hipster. I Just ignore them.

I think it's funny when people think that they have to follow some code in order to be a true fan of a band or genre. They're just attention whores.

  • Great lyrics from win. Seriousely great band. And great frontman.

  • Damn this song rocks my socks

  • I love the lyrics to this song

  • Beautiful but not good.

  • My body wont stop dancing*****

  • don't understand how anyone could NOT like this song. it's beautiful.

  • I asked on 4chan what i should play at funeral. This was the answer.

  • @townofmianus always ask 4chan when it comes to the most important aspects of life. wether it's about funerals, or proposals, or what to do with your little daughter next weekend. it's always a genius idea to listen to 4chan.

  • Fuck! This is a beautiful song!!!

  • i really don't want the dislikes reaching 100-their on 99!!!

  • great song, but can anyone tell me what's going on in the vid? ....im lost XD

  • @canadiangirl125 Join the club, it was a great video, but I'm so damn confused.

I think she injects people with something that bounds them to servitude, and this one guy retains his free will and tries to escape.

  • @mysteryskater48 Now we have to figure out what that has to do with the video

  • HEY !!! WATCH "JELLY PLANE" on YOUTUBE !!!

  • 99 people never dug a tunnel.

  • For me, the most beautiful song on this green earth

  • Love this soo much

  • I had the neon bible album on my Ipod for about 3 years, but never really listened to it. The first track on it was Black Mirrors, and it didn't really catch me every time I tried to listen to it. Was scrolling through my list of artists, and came across their name. So I decided to commit and listen to all of it.

Probably one of the greatest things I've ever done for my well being.

  • Once again I say that this is my all time favourite song. And I'm not talking just in the arcade fire songs. All songs I have ever heard. I practically deafen myself in the car turning up the volume.

  • This song puts me in my happy place.

  • this is my favourite song of all time.

  • yum

  • i went to the first gig they did in the uk and had their debut album before it was released in the uk on import.....this is my favourite track from my favourite album of the last 10 years....

  • Love this song :D

  • Please check out my bass cover of this tune

  • What. A. Tune

  • WELL WHATEVER HAPPENED TO THEM??

  • WELL WHATEVER HAPPENED TO THEM??

  • I can't even describe how beautiful this song is and of course the instruments and vocals flow together perfectly. Only Arcade Fire can accomplish something of this enormous magnitude.

  • ahh the feeling of love's keen sting and the control of it. genius vision

  • I can't believe some people doesn't like this excellent song!

  • the fans of this band do realize that other people are allowed to have opinions right....?

  • I only honestly read the first two comments!!

It helps me disregard all the haters of this world.

    :]

  • Once when I was camping there were naked men singing this on a bridge.

It only solidified my love for this song.

  • Why do people compare arcade fire to MGMT?

  • @robloxiaman13853 hhhmmm, possibly because many of their songs have a similar sound and themes...

  • @iveywebb44 I meant that in my opinion that MGMT is crap compared to Arcade Fire. But you are right anyway that they do have similar sound and themes.

  • @robloxiaman13853 Arcade Fire and MGMT are very good groups, but a think that his music is of diferents styles, and similar sounds.

  • Why do people compare arcade fire to radiohead?

Radiohead is a cringe inducing littel elf man mumbling over a "soundscape" that sounds like someone just hit a bunch of keys with garage band open.

Arcade fire is amazing, radiohead is not.

  • @kmiller812 You really ought to give Radiohead an honest listen. To call it "a bunch of keys" is absolutely ridiculous, Radiohead has some amazing instrumentals. As a music lover, you should cherish the notion of a sound scape.

  • @kmiller812 I 'm not sure why people compare them. They have two totally different styles. Radiohead is more experimental and electronic based. Arcade Fire is more classical and grandeur. Two different styles, but both are already up there as the greatest bands ever.

Radiohead's style is less accessible than Arcade Fire's. I'm sure you'll warm up to them eventually like many people have.

  • Great song. Just added my bass cover on youtube. Please check it out

  • amazing

  • idgi...

i dont get the point of the video at all.............O.o

but i do love the song tho

  • I love Funeral. They have 3 brilliant albums, but this is the best of the best.

  • heard this song 4 the 1st time in the 5th grade now im a senior. this brings bak so many memories

  • Coldplay and Radiohead had a baby in Montreal and named it Arcade Fire.

  • I love Arcade Fire

  • I've changed my mind, I like this more then Laika

  • just plain beautiful, simple as.

  • Agreed Arcade Fires best album ever is Funeral, it's too bad they were not recognized til now, I know not only David Bowie is a follower of them but also Chris Martin from Coldplay has spoken about being inspired by Arcade Fire too.

  • @papagriz23 suburbs is better through and through, but funeral just stopped you in your tracks the first time you heard it

  • @tigereye04 Sorry, No. The Suburbs is a great piece of work, by any standard. But Funeral is perhaps the greatest album since OK Computer.

  • funeral is easily the best album of the 00s. one of those where you hear a track and stop whatever you'd been doing.

  • @tigereye04 Actually that would be Kid A, but Funeral is definitely 2nd :)

  • If you like this song checkout The Runaway by Regret the Hour

  • Laika (Neighborhood 2) I like a bit more, but it's tough to compare.

  • I just love this song so much!!

  • this song makes me want to cry ;_;

  • @izzie15100 same a lot of their music does for me idk why

  • This is the song that Alexander left his neighborhood to hear..

  • Ok...WHAT did the video have to do with the song...?

  • I like laika better than this song

  • I've read through way to many comments NOT about what people think of this video. Was that his short life flashing before his eyes at the end, or did i miss something?

  • This is my favorite Arcade Fire song. No contest.

  • @SillySillyBellBell absolutely.

  • @neveruseagain500 indie rock/post punk if you wanna get technical. "awesome", if you don't.

  • This song was playing in my father's car. He exclaimed: "Hey, Pablo, this is horrible. His voice is totally out of tune." You should have seen my enraged reaction. And the thing is that the singers both Win and Régine aren't perfect singers. Their voice is actually out of tune sometimes, but that's not bad, because it's all about the personality of the band, and that's why it's so important, because Arcade Fire is all about making everything that is "crooked" or "uneven" utterly beautiful. :)

  • @pabsensi same thing goes for me wen anybody criticises bob dylan's voice (pre 1980's)

  • @pabsensi You're exactly right. Beauty isn't about perfection, it's about personality and emotion, and it's what makes Arcade Fire's music art in a way that autotuned pop tracks can never be.

  • @pabsensi so true,,they would never make it on amercian idol..or as I like to call it american idolotry...I love their unusual sound...matter of fact..they are my favorite band (ever)..I can't stop listening to them..after Coachella it was all over!

  • @pabsensi Your dad was right.

  • @pabsensi Hipster faggot.

  • @pabsensi

I don't mean to annoy you personally with my ramblings, but I just have to say...

I love these uneven voices more than the most gifted singer in the world. This sound is super beautiful to me... it feels real and good to listen to, I would die to have a voice like this...

  • @pabsensi I thought the same thing your dad did the first time I heard Radiohead. Yorke's crooning just sounds distorted and out of tune at first, until you realize that it's beautiful and perfect that way. It's the same way with this song.

  • Video reminds me of an episode of 'Look Around You' but based in New York! It's about time they started winning Grammys etc, Brixton Academy 2007 was incredible, they can just swap instruments mid song, so talented. The best, most original band for decades, and to compound their superiority, they're really nice people too! Bastards!

  • This is pretty much the only Arcade Song I like. I love it. But the band are extremely overrated. Like Muse type overrated.

  • Weird, I'm in the same boat, don't really care for anything else I've heard by them, but this is a great song.

  • @Mablak - I am not alone then haha :) I've found out that I also like Rebellion. But mostly only because it's like this one, it builds in the same manner. But yeah., everything else they've done doesn't do much for me.

  • ...okay... WHAT THE FUCK IS THIS EVEN ABOUT?

  • How did you know about "Dead Man's Party Mov" ???

  • somebody wanna tell me wtf that video was about? and yes, yes this whole album is incredible...just wtf tho with the vid!?? XD

  • This whole album is just amazing, one of my all time favs...

  • @neveruseagain500 Hard to be mod when their from Canada. The genre whores would tell ya 'baroque pop' but i'd just go with indie rock, as loose of a term that is but i definately think that's an appropriate term to call it.

  • Do you mean BEAR in mind? You also sound arrogant.

  • Comment removed

  • @klimax19 I'm Korgri's, so their not friendless. So 'bare' that in mind

  • Korgi… your some pain in the hole, you're also a stain in the underpants of society now please put away your Lego and toys and go back to bed you child

  • Thumbs up if Palladia brought you here

  • Then I'll dig a tunnel from my window to yours

Yeah, a tunnel from my window to yours

  • on all of arcade fires songs i click the like button before even hearing the song because i know its going to be that good

  • I'm a fan of Arcade Fire, but today I've read a review which really made me angry, so I decided to post something about it!

The review said that one of the reasons Arcade Fire ist so famous at the moment is their "innovative" way to use old album structures and stuff like this (for example calling the songs neighborhood 1&2) it also said that nobody did it since the old days

And this really pissed me off, for example never heard of the band Dredg? God damned I can't stand this stuff. thanks

  • one of the best albums I've heard in a long time.

  • From start to finish, 'Funeral' is by far and away their best album. Listen to the different tones, the way that depressing themes are somehow made euphoric. The lyrics. The rawness of the sound. The range of tempo. How the album as a whole is constructed.

For me, 'The Suburbs' sounds over-engineered. This album and it's songs were written for the stadium, not the discerning listener.

  • this music is drug like, you gotta lose yourself in the magic of it to truely experience it fully

  • 94 people wouldn't know good music if it bitch slapped them in the face .

  • @swilliams2015le That's because (for a lot more than) 94 people understand that good music goes to one's ears. But being 'bitch slapped in the face' kind of fits here somehow. Good analogy!

  • @korgri belieber?

  • @alicsander Nope - but probably the reason Arcade Fire got the award was maybe the Beebs said something

politically sensitive in a certain interview...then afterwards had to go cut his hair to make folks forget he said it...

  • @korgri what does arcade fire getting an award have to do with anything bieber may or may not have said? You're saying "probably", too.

    This makes me sad.

  • @alicsander Backstage industry power plays; or people who like to imagine the insular world of the music industry as some kind of Roman arena. As if the influence they wield extends so far that they imagine heads of state and oil corporation executives going agog at the notion of Arcade Fire winning the grammy. Winning a grammy is sort of like being chosen to be Emperor of The North Pole. It's nice to hear the proper noun applied to you, but it's essentially meaningless.

  • @korgri if you put a full stop after the words, "noun applied to you", got rid of "it's" shortly after that, and then put "what i've just said is" just before "essentially", then I'd be inclined to agree with you.

  • @alicsander What measure of man's wit doth flows, he calls it his pirouette, others say he's stubbed his toes.

So when you say 'a full stop' do you mean 'a period'? A period after 'noun applied to you'?

Trying to dissemble your dissembling could lead to a conclusion that what you've just

said is essentially meaningless. Probably. Sorry, I meant 'written', not 'said'. I can't hear your actual voice.

Maybe you can hear mine, but I can't allow myself too much reciprocal splendor these daze.

  • @korgri no, by 'full stop' i meant 'full stop', or 'a period '. You must be American. I'm sorry you're having a hard time translating British English to American English. Also, whilst trying to be clever, you seem to have missed the point the point entirely (at the same time being a little petty).

  • @alicsander oh jeez, you're British? Oh my good fellow, do forgive my rudeness. Rule Brittania! By Jove, no wonder you thought there were troubles afoot, what? It's the play, the play's the thing, in which to catch the

conscience of the Sheen. Bet you thought I meant a Sheen other than Michael Sheen, OBE. Poor Mike, I bet he wants to pull his beard out when some little petty Yank sidles up to him to inquire how his American cousin Charles is. Rather. Good on ya, copper! whoops, that's Australia

  • @korgri It's splendour.
