  • type of paper ?

  • @ropesuber copier.

  • @StefanGBucher thanks

  • @StefanGBucher thanks and awesome

  • Classic. ^^

  • I did this last week! I love it!

  • thanks stumbleuppon

  • i have done some of my own, if you buy Parker Quink for like £3 you can get just as good results and a fine sharpie and away u go!

  • @Paulio5 Oh, I love Parker Quink! (I buy the Yasutomo stuff, because I can get it in big bottles at the art store. :^)

  • @hanzchronic coming up with original ideas can often be harder then executing a complex idea which has been done before

@StefanGBucher nice work, what type of ink is it that you use to blow around the page?

  • @thelahn Thank you, thelahn! I use Faber-Castell PITT artist pens, Prismacolor Premier pens, Staedtler pigment liners, Tombow ABT pens, Sharpies (fine point and wedge tip), and Yasutomo Sumi ink on regular old uncoated bond paper. :^)

  • @StefanGBucher have you used india ink? we're doing this in art class (but we're using straws instead of canned air lol) and they just dont look right, the ink runs too much. any advice?

  • @NinjaPl33z Hi Ninja. I use sumi, but it's essentially the same. The canned air is your missing ingredient. Makes all the difference.

  • @MrAndySear Thank you, Andy. I appreciate it. :^)

  • honestly any one i know can blow fucking ink and drawl three stoned eyes. i hate people who think this is really imaginative this guy knows it doesnt take much to do this shit, yet still he probabaly gets money and sells this shit. i hate this world

  • @hanzchronic You're totally right, hanz. It really isn't difficult. It's just fun. Let's see your drawings. Show me some new stuff. :^)

  • So Nice

  • @skilpadden100 Thank you, skilpadden100. I'm glad you like it. :^)

  • The beginning of all 

  • @tehafternoob Yes indeed! It's weird to look back and see how many aspects of the whole thing were immediately in place. The bird factor, the fancy footwear, the upside down writing... It was all just waiting to pop out. :^)

  • I have loved your art style for a long time and you have really inspired my brother and me.

I would love to be able to make my drawing move, what program do you use that allows your creations move?

  • @colbysheaclonts Thank you very much for the compliment, colbysheaclonts! I'm glad the Monsters are getting you and your brother into the action. I use Anime Studio to animate the Monsters.

  • i subscribed cool drawings like them alot how did you get the random ink blot thing?

  • @mtndewgecko177 Thank you for the compliment! I get the ink blot by putting down a few drops of sumi ink, and then blowing on them with compressed air from a duster can. :^)

  • @StefanGBucher ok cool, thanks i might have to try that :D

  • Czowieku! To jest zajesuperowskie! Weź powiedz co to jest to takie czarne w 0:18 czym wylewasz ten atrament czy co to tam jest. Chciałabym wiedzieć :)

    Prostrza wersja:

To jest Super! Co to jest - 0:18 ?

  • It looks like a Toucan...

  • I do not have such a good handwriting even if I write the right way round :-D

    nice vids...subscribed :-)

  • @TheYuLeeAn Thank you very much. TheYuLeeAn. I got a good grade on my handwriting in elementary school, and I think I got hooked on it. :^D

  • Another question...What video camera do you use to make these videos? Also how do you set up the camera?

  • @mysticmunch16 For these first 30 I just used the video feature on my old Sony Cyber-shot DSC-P200. After that I switched to a Sony Handycam DCR-HC38. I'm about to get a new HD cam, though. You can see the setup on my desk in the Mimozine feature on me here on YouTube. You can find it on their channel and on mine. :^)

  • I agree with masterofjello98. The shoes are awesome!

  • @CrystineGao Thank you, Crystine! :^)

  • i love how you put shoes on them! it gives a very personal flair to an already fantastic masterpeice

  • @masterofjello98 Thank you, masterofjello. (Which I imagine is pronounced like Metallica's Master of Puppets?) I'm glad you appreciate the shoes! Strong arches are a terrible thing to waste! :^)

  • what pen or marker do you use for the splatters?

  • @adr31n I put a few drops of ink on paper and then blow on it with compressed air.

  • do you use paint and a straw or ink and an air can?

  • @TheFiremonkey123 It's the latter. When I first played with the technique I used a cocktail straw, but it gave me a headache, and the air pressure was insufficient.

  • @StefanGBucher What is a latter is like a brand of compressed air?

  • @TheFiremonkey123 Oh, sorry. No. You know, "the former vs the latter." figure of speech. It's canned air. Any brand will do the trick. :^)

  • @StefanGBucher cool

  • what do you use to make the spllatters? like the air ?

  • @RetroGamerism I use canned air now, but I think this first one still had a bit of human blowage, too.

  • @StefanGBucher what type of paint do you use in the begging before you use caanned air and why did you use paper to suck it dry (if thats what u did plz tell me how to get some im making my own monster ) ^_^

  • what kind of markers do you use?

  • @gnarcard I use Faber-Castell PITT artist pens, Prismacolor Premier pens, Staedtler pigment liners, Tombow ABT pens, Sharpies (fine point and wedge tip), and Yasutomo Sumi ink on regular old uncoated bond paper.

  • @StefanGBucher nice thanks

  • Fascinating! I love the world you're creating! Cheers!

  • @TheCheeryCordial Thank you very much, TCC. I'm glad you're enjoying it! :^)

  • how do you make the first ink splatter and what paper do you use? If you can respond that would be nice. Thanks

  • @mysticmunch16 Canned air is the secret ingredient. As for the paper, I use the cheapest paper I can find -- copier or multi-purpose paper -- so I don't have to worry about wrecking something expensive or beautiful. :^)

  • @StefanGBucher thanks i think ill try it out...

  • Hi Stefan. I'm doing some psychedelic ink blowing for my high school major work and was just wondering what you use to blow the ink and if you had any tips for me. Thanks :D and by the way i really like your works, they've encouraged me to commit to mine!

  • @TheMilsy Thank you for your very kind note, TheMilsy. I use canned air, which works beautifully with very little ink. (Most people tend to use too much the first few times.) Send me some scans of your project when it's done!

  • @StefanGBucher Thanks for that! I'll have a chat with my teacher about it. I'll make sure to send you some pictures of it when its done (can't scan - its an instillation with ink on white suitcases).

  • @TheMilsy Ink on white suitcases? Cool! You may have to experiment a little. Maybe use a white foundation on the suitcases -- like a gesso, and then see how the ink reacts on that. You might do well with slightly thinned black cell vinyl instead of sumi ink. And then it's about what works for the pen lines. You might just have to burn through a tub of Sharpies. The surface will eat them fast, but they'll probably do the trick.

  • @wjyl09 Thank you very much, wjyl09. I'm glad you like the stuff. :^)

  • Hi, if I may, what do you do for a living?

  • @MultiOlli96 You may. I'm a graphic designer / illustrator / author. :^)

  • estupendo!!!!!

  • @leunameunam Thank you very much, leunameunam. :^)

  • Hey can i ask you something, how do you call the drawings of completely dark personages that are drawn in some situation, I have been looking for that term like a long time, maybe you can help me???

  • @MrSakosh1 Hello MrSakosh. I don't understand the question. Can you give me an example?

  • @StefanGBucher I will try, I saw a screensaver with personages who were completely dark, black, not like eafrican american, but just painted black, it was just like any other screensaver with people except with this one is was painted or drawn and the characters where anonumous, because they were black, I don't know if there is an universal term for these sort paintings, You would really help me greatly if you could give me just something a name maybe,

    kind regards, sahin

  • @MrSakosh1 Oh... hm... I see what you're saying. If there is a particular name for that, I'm not aware of it. Unless you're saying that the characters were literally all black without any visible features other than the overall shape. In that case it's called a silhouette. Is that what you mean?

  • @StefanGBucher yeah that was the word I was searching for thank you very very much!

  • what materials do you use

  • @kisakimama Hi kisakimama. I use Faber-Castell PITT artist pens, Prismacolor Premier pens, Staedtler pigment liners, Tombow ABT pens, Sharpies (fine point and wedge tip), and Yasutomo Sumi ink on regular old uncoated bond paper. :^)

  • @StefanGBucher cool thanks

  • hey man can you tell me what all pens and stuff you use on these?

  • @NamelessGiraffe Sure. I use Faber-Castell PITT artist pens, Prismacolor Premier pens, Staedtler pigment liners, Tombow ABT pens, Sharpies (fine point and wedge tip), and Yasutomo Sumi ink on regular old uncoated bond paper.

  • just watched some of your videos, just marvellous! I luv your style! really, very original and funny to :)

    keep on drawing!

    grtz

  • @kerelwtf Thank you very much, kerelwtf. I'm glad you're enjoying the Monsters, and I appreciate that you took the time to let me know. :^)

  • Your style of drawing is what i always wanted to learn DX

  • Just start doodling, NeonUF. Draw it and they will come. :^)

  • Thanks for the adice! this is why i admire you because you answer back to your fans

  • It's my pleasure, NeonUF. I'm lucky that I get to do this. :^)

  • @StefanGBucher Ahaha i just bought couple new pens and start drwing. Itd be better if i could start it with the ink to XD

  • You don't need any specific ink. Just make a random mark of some sort. Or pick a leaf. Or a crumpled plastic wrapper or piece of newspaper. Just so you have something to react to.

  • those are some smart ideas. But i like the randomness of the ink ahah.

  • Why would a bird monster be wearing boots?

  • For the same reason we all do, tnmcg69: to be stylish! :^)

  • god, these are seriously great, u do have a fantastic talentt thereee =)

  • Thank you, JackSpud999. I really appreciate it. They're fun to do, the Monsters, and I'm glad you're enjoying them. :^)

  • Thank you very much, altavista23. I'm posting daily monsters at my site again right now. No videos, just drawings, but still... maybe you'll enjoy those, too. :^)

  • I love the videos, what kind of ink do you use at the beginning to get the veiny looking lines?

  • How did I miss your comment, techgeek13? Sorry! I use Yasutomo Sumi ink. :^)

  • i loooooooove your work ur an inspiration because i want to be as good as you one day :)

  • Thank you very much, punker531. Just keep doodling. That's my approach. :^)

  • it seems to have worked lol :)

  • i like this one especially the massive platforms :)

  • Thank you, kombat. :^)

  • Isn't it, mrfalcon47? You wouldn't want him flying around your house. Plus, really scary: those shoes have almost no arch support. :^D

  • im addicted to your videos, they are amazing

  • Thank you very much, knkzero. I'm glad you're hooked, and happy that you like it. :^)

  • verry good but why boots? it spoils the monster

  • Hi jben10000. Once you get to know more of the Monsters you'll see that a great many of them have a tendency towards extravagant footwear. It's just what they love to do. :^)

  • I'm sorry, the link won't work... :(

  • You are so famous that there's this backrounds app for itouch and I saw one of your monsters, then I thought to myself about your daily monsters

  • Thank you very much, OSAGraffitiCrew. Man, I don't even drink caffeine anymmore. If I ever tried drugs I'd probably just draw architectural floor plans. :^D

    Simply genius!

  • You're very kind, cammigurlgonewild. Too kind, I think. It's more practice than anything, and in this case also process. You can do it, too. Just start with the eyes. :^)

  • ○_o How bizarre. I like it. ^_^ It's amazing what you can get from blowing at ink through a straw.

  • Fun, right, Masterfoot? Thank you for your comment. I'm glad you like it. :^)

  • Wow. you are truly an inspiration. i to draw monsters like this but not with the ink. what sort of ink and/or ink pen do you use for your starting bit.

    thanks

  • Thank you for the kind compliment, brodster11. I'm glad you like the Monsters. I use Faber-Castell PITT artist pens, Staedtler pigment liners, Tombow ABT pens, Sharpies (fine point and wedge tip), Prismacolor Premier markers, and Yasutomo Sumi ink on regular old uncoated bond paper. :^)

  • Thank you very much, mellowmark1. That's very kind of you.

  • You sir are honestly a genius, you're very creative.

Today in class I did a makeshift version of this style, I used regular ink with a hallowed out pen tube.

Everyone in my class loved the idea and incorporated it into their pieces, as a matter of fact my teacher gave me a large jar of ink for free because she was so impressed.

It was my first time ever working with ink and I want to further my art.

I was just wondering what supplies do you use ?

    Thank you for the inspiration,

    -Erik

  • Hello Erik,

Thank you very much for your very kind note. I appreciate it. And I'm glad you're already having fun blowing ink. AND infecting your classmates with the ink disease, too! Good job! :^D

I use Faber-Castell PITT artist pens, Staedtler pigment liners, Tombow ABT pens, Sharpies (fine point and wedge tip), and Yasutomo Sumi ink on regular old uncoated bond paper. The blowing works best with a duster can. Get some pressure in that air.

Good luck making your own monsters!

    Stefan

  • sweet :DDD .. btw how much money you

earned from book of you'r ?!.. i bough it :D

  • Thank you very much for picking up a copy of the book, m0nk3yl. I hope you're having fun with it! How much money have I earned from it? Well, if you stack it up against the time I spent on it, I'd probably be better off with a real job. ;^)

  • not my favorite one but hey, it was your first!

  • This was my first Daily Monster, and I love it for that. But your comment implies that do have a favorite among the Monsters, turdboyproductions. Do you remember which one? :^)

  • i believe it was # 99? the one that kinda looks like a squid!

  • mr bucher i am a really really big fan and honestly want to learn to draw like you i even pitched an idea to my art class in school and got my whole class to draw a monster just like you so i want to thank you for being a art mastermind

  • Wow! Thank you, suckaluckafuckaduck. Did you take photos of your class making Monsters? I'd love to see and maybe put them up on my website. I'm glad you're having fun drawing! :^)

  • thanks alot i appreciate it love your art to

  • wat markers are u using? i want them

  • Hello trag3dygraff3r. I use Faber-Castell PITT artist pens, Staedtler pigment liners, Tombow ABT pens, Sharpies (fine point and wedge tip), and Yasutomo Sumi ink on regular old uncoated bond paper.

  • wow i must be very dumb cuz i havent subscribed yet, now i have subscribed, you have awesome imagenation and i like to watch you drawing those awesome monsters

    -Hanmatti

  • Hello hanmatti! You just waited out the crowds. I think that's smart. Now you have 200 monsters in a row to look at. More than 200, actually! Have fun! :^)

  • subscribing. good effort

  • Thank you, DookeyDakey. I'm glad you like it!

  • Everything has to have shoes doesn't it

  • Oh yes, PNG1. That's the rule. No shoes, no service. :^D

  • yr good man!

  • Thank you, kamal2004pa. :^)

  • lovin the platform shoes

  • Thank you, Kiddymeow. Good footwear is so important. Monsters need solid arch support. :^)

  • I love these :D I used to watch them all the time :D

  • Thank you so much, MyMoi93. There's going to be a new Holiday Monster next week. I hope you'll come check it out. :^)

  • WOW

  • Thank you, Stro0ke3s!

  • Wow your Amazing. Great Wonderful Astounding work!

  • Goodness, OmegaXF. You're gonna make me blush. Thank you!

  • Thank you for showing your artwork :)

  • What kind of pen do you use to draw with?? I like the drawing Btw! Most original bird I've seen on youtube yet ^_^

  • Hello HaipaaBurosamu. I'm glad you like Bird No.1. I use Faber-Castell PITT artist pens, Staedtler pigment liners, Tombow ABT pens, Sharpies (fine point and wedge tip), and Yasutomo Sumi ink on regular old uncoated bond paper.

  • Hmm maybe I should try using that I love to draw to but mostly anime stuff, and using just a lead pencil does have it's limits so maybe I'll try using those kind of pens Thanks for the info though!

  • The Faber-Castell PITT artist pens are the best!

  • Absolutely! I love 'em! :^)

  • you ruined it with the crappy shoes!!

  • Sorry you think so, pluckhimin. If you take a look at the 199 other monsters you'll see that they end up becoming sort of a trademark. :^)

  • Lemme guess. Your next monster is going to be mostly black, have silly eyes and a big, goofy grin.

  • What the...? Are you monitoring my thoughts? Because i was just thinking... SPOOKY! :^D

  • Sensationell.

  • This one is my personal favorite. Love ur art work. Greatings From The Netherlands (europe)

  • Thank you, ParaCriminal. I guess sometimes you just have to go back to the Original. :^) I'm glad you like the Monsters. Much love from California to my old neighborhood. (I'm originally from Germany.)

  • Nice not just this monster but the others.

    80's like lilfixit said.

  • You're very kind, marvinmedrano. I'm happy to hear that you're enjoying the Monsters. :^)

  • thanx

ive tried doing this but it doesnt work out for me

  • You might download a few Open Source Ink Blots from my site, and use those as an easy starting point. :^)
