  • The reaction that takes place at the center of the sun is, uh, nuclear fusion.

  • "Alternative energy" is a name that appeals to liberals and progressives. We should also have some name for it that conservatives and Republicans can use.

    Anti-terrorist energy sources.

    Oil is pro-terrorist.

If you want to help Osama bin Laden and Al Qaeda and terrorists everywhere, buy some oil or some gas today.

Fill 'er up for bin Laden.

OR invest in America's future: anti-terrorist energy.

  • energy is the biggest issue in america. oil is the only fucking reason terrorists are still active. and obama bows to the man funding them.....

  • Take oil away and - POOF! - when the oil bubble will finally burst...welcome back, 18th century...

  • Refuse to energy? So long as we have Republicans, we'll have power forever.

  • finally. we can now blow ourselves up. brilliant

  • It is as much a fad as the industrial revolution was! The ideal would guarantee that our population take steps to pursue other energies and technologies that would ultimately under any other name bring jobs and future securities. If it wasn't for the left to right spin-the prospective benefit from such a movement would be good for us all. Men like Al Gore should not be the face for this movement because of the political attachments. Politics does not nor has it ever included fact before effect,

  • and here i thought they would actually talk about the ideas/theories behind such proposed methods.

    waste of time. =\

  • @NwZ2

    Well I'm even more disappointed.

They didn't mention anything particularly realistic.

Was hoping for some Solar Thermal Turbines with heat storage, Stirling Engine Solar, or Hot Rock Geothermal.

    Would get some mention.

Or hell, maybe some adiabatic compressed air energy storage.

Instead all you get is this gimmicky bullshit.

  • NEVER HAPPEN!

We can't even get a non corporate owned president in this country, but we will get "free energy" sources?

Watch "who killed the electric car".

  • Hasen't Universal been recycling garbage for sometime now with their output of filmed 'entertainment'?

  • LOL, I like how they use clips of underground nuclear detonations....

  • Wait? A controlled star on Earth? Wasn't that the plot of Spider-Man 2?

  • YEAH AND WE ALL KNOW HOW THAT WENT LOL

I'll go ahead and get my robotic spine ready...

  • oh and I thought it was a controlled black hole? or was it a neutron star?

  • I'm not sure. It was a horrible movie, so I blocked out most memory of it.

  • i know from experience you get extract hydrogen from water... then you use hydrogen instead of gas.. problem solved......

the exhaust is Water. If you run out of water.. then you can get it from thin air.

  • IlluminatiSeer,

    That's -true-.

But hydrogen is a battery for storing energy, not an energy -source-.

Because it takes energy to extract the hydrogen from the H2O.

  • reliableinsider

all you have to do is put an alternator.. or more then one. And theres your power :) but i havent tried that yet

  • I love hydrogen. It's a great fuel because it burns cleanly, but it takes a lot of energy to make it.

Wind and sun and even coal and oil are just sitting around waiting to be used. We can use solar panels or wind turbines to produce hydrogen from water and then use it to fuel hydrogen cars. Cars running on hydrogen would do a great deal to reduce the smog in places like L.A. and Mexico City.

  • I took an astronony class a couple semesters back as an elective, so I understand what this can do. These people are on MSNBC are jackasses. It's revolting. They're supposed to be educated and they act like children.

People always yell about Fox having stupid people, yet they fail to acknowledge the idiots who work for MSNBC.

  • That pelot sun power sounds like the ITER fusion plasma project here in europe.

  • There's not much to debate on this one...It's coming to a test site near somebody soon. I don't really think we need a solution this radical while we have deserts that are suited to large scale solar, both active and passive plus Billions of rooftops that could collectively generate more power than we could use. We have abundant renewable energy resources that are being shunned in favor of reinventing the wheel.

Yeah it's real cool and and all but seriously folks
