I think the themes of Muslim religion is beautiful, as is Christianity, and Buddhism - the themes are all about peace, forgiveness and love. Togodwereturn - The penalty for Apostacy is death when there is an Islamic state, and the convert in question turns against Islam. Turning against the State is a grave crime in all countries. But in terms of choosing your Religion The Quran makes it clear that "There is no Compulsion in Religion."

However people are accountable in the hereafter for their actions in this life. And to receive ALLAH's mercy you have to turn back to your Creator and change your ways first.

Also if the apostate is given the death penalty how can they turn back to the creator if they have been executed? Turning against the state is not the same as no longer believing in a religion.
