Although White Horse has had a much greater impact on the music scene and has outlasted the band itself, it is still easy to understand why the creators may have thought that this song might have more mass appeal and be more "sellable" in 1982-1983. Funny. I imagine that the band probably liked White Horse better too, but as a business decision went with Sunshine Reggae as the single.

The A side was the main song (Sunshine Reggae, here) the other side of the record, so it wouldn't go to waste, was called the B Side. This song was typically not as popular, wasn't on the album, etc. They still have B Sides now, but not because they still use vinyl. White Horse was far more popular than this song ever was. It was an awesome song and I never would have thought it is the same guys

Yes I am judging the song by where and when it came from, and if the song were played by a Jamaican band in the early 70's then the video would be much better and the recording sound would be different (but better). Reggae is one of my favourite genres and apart from one song by the mighty diamonds (in the 80's), this is the worst I have ever seen or heard - I conclude: By liking this song, you have immediately put yourself in the category of having an appalling taste in music.

Having cleared that up, the only thing left that would be different had it been a jamaican band in the 70's would be the production, or as you mentioned, "the recording sound."
