the way they crammed the motor into that engine bay doesn't leave much room at all for the exhaust piping, the way the collector on the rear header is just a complete nightmare. If I were to design some headers based on adding a turbo in that would open up a lot of options but that's something way down the road form now. As is the ls6 intake mod is a bitch because our oil pressure sensor is mounted to the valley cover and gets in the way of the intake neck so having to modify a lot of things.
I know I read the post on ls1tech. The header design will not be optimal but I can be done and will still flow much better than stock. It sucks I have yet to see someone complete the manifold swap. I want to see what one of these things will do when they are uncorked.
I have an 07 imp ss with flowmaster, K&n intake and factory tires and I have the same problem.. Most likely less of a problem, but the worst part of driving this car is keeping it attached to the road!

yea still stock manifolds both ends, working on a ls6 intake mod but exhaust manifold nothin much can be done except to have them ported.

what's dod? lol j/k i replaced lifters as well so don't even have the option for dod, have it turned off via tune as well.
