I hate this computer!!! All problems blue screens replaced 1 screen have to replace it again now insanely slow takes forever to load a page back cover got cracked within 1 month and on that time it never left my desk weighs 9 pounds literally weighed it the other day and I only have 6 cell battery also navy 1 hr of battery on power saver :( is a little better now that windows 7 is on it it is also only a 1.66 ghz intel core 2 duo so not to fast

ive only had nothing but trouble with my 1720. 3 new batteries. a new ac cord thing. 2 replaced keyboards. numerous blue screens. in my opinion a piece of shit, waste of money. :(

Hi, it costs about £8 or £9 on ebay. I got mine from ebay, if you search for laptop stand on ebay, you can find a lot of different types, good luck =]

i have the insprion 1720 t2370 1.73ghz not very powerful for gaming, plays some games. i got the blue screen after a couple of months, just installed the disk and never had problem since, excellent computer other than doesnt play alot of games, but thats what the chipped xbox is for. fuck microsoft.

a month after i bought this laptop it crashed, after the crash my bluetooth was broken and 2gb ram just dissapeared.

and it weights a lot :(

i have this but it is not soo great... when i had had it for 2 months i got the blue screen of death because the version of windows 6 was a test version and then the screen broke and i have to pay £300 to get it fixed! =p

Hi, the stand didn't come with the laptop, it does help it to cool down, but its a little too small for this laptop, and i bought it on ebay :)

I'm opened for every solution to get a better video card to this notebook. Also I know that only 8400 and 8600 geforces are supported, but I don't believe there's no way for tricking it :S. There are already Mobile GTX cards out there!

im also having problems in finding to activate bluetooth of my dell inspiron 1720.i can see the icon on the side but no way to find how to activate it.its not in the control panel.and i thought im the only one who cant do it.could be factory defect or something?im ashamed to ask that people might think im ignorant.hoping somebody can lighten me up.

Hey moriorea, I'm using the same laptop, and you problem could be that, even though you have the little icon on your laptop, you may not have gotten the bluetooth module installed for your laptop. The 1720's normally don't come with the bluetooth pre-installed unless you pay a little extra to have it added, if you did have the bluetooth capability, it would come on with the wifi switch on the side. (Unless you turned it off in the settings). So I hope this helps. Good day! (: -Desmon

Hi, yeh, if you go in to control panel, there you will see the bluetooth icon, double click, get your other bluetooth device ready, then follow instruction, and get them connected.

I have one of these in ruby red i like the look. My specs are 2.4ghz processor nvideageforce 8600 256mb and 4 gigs of ram. It cost 1800 bucks but it plays games like Gears of War, Company of heroes, Age of Empires 3 all on some of the best settings.  (Except gears on medium). That said this is a great laptop for a gamer who also wants some portability. (Sorry for bragging). One downside is the startup time is a long 49 seconds. Is that for all of them or is it just mine for someoddreason?

I got this Laptop on Mid November to Early December of 2007. Great laptop! But I have a list of things that went wrong these past months I recieved it. Current problem, Hindges are too loose for the lcd screen and The touchpad and Keyboard stopped functioning alltogether =[. But guys, this is a great laptop if you remember to get good warrenty on it!

Yeah I do use wireless internet, I'm using unsecured network, means I don't need a password, so when I turned on my laptop, I just choose the network I wanted to connect and it just connected and remembered. If you have a secured network, just need to input the password, nothing complicated :)

I did play some games like 2moon, cabal, all online games, also played sims2, SimCity societies, resident evil4, all run pretty smoothly.
