  • hi, i love this video! i've been getting into percussion looping recently and i'm looking into getting a tabla set. Where did you get the tablas you use? I love the sounds you get out of them! Awesome groove man!

  • Hi jeff just love what you doing fantastic i have a rc 50 i dont use it that much though problems with delay i have started using ableton live 8 for all our sounds great tool to bring along when proforming live !!!! i would like to use the rc 50 as a pedal though but just cant seem to deal with the delay when coming back to the loop!!!! did you find the same problem ? cheers pierre kubustrings

  • Hi there, beautiful piece of music, really enjoyed listening to it.

You've probably been asked this before, but what's the name of the instrument you play on that creates the loop at the start of the piece?

  • waaaaaauw very nise peace from belgium

  • I love this! Jeff is awesome!

  • @ericdezmusic . Thanks, Eric. Thought you might have seen this one already. Glad you ran into it. I would love to eventually be able to do this with Ableton instead of the RC-50, but for now, the RC-50 is just so much simpler for me to use. Peace, bro. We'll converge soon.

  • after hearing this as a loop, i need - more ....

very relaxing - is there a chance to hear more of this?

  • nice work buddy

    very inspirational

  • Fantastic! Thanks for posting. Inspirational indeed, as I play along with my Udu.

  • Hi Jeff ,

I have downloaded this via youtube convertor and added some indian style guitar to this but have no video to post it . Where can i send it so you can hear it . I think you will like it :) Sort of has a John Mclaughlin / Shakti vibe .

  • Very very inspiring. Greetings and congratulations from Spain

  • SOUNDS AMAZING

  • Gud work buddy,,, :)

    i love the composition....

    where do u live?

  • @nitinvirat7 Thanks. I appreciate it. I am in Miami, Florida.

  • @Takdinadin nice to see ppl around the world playing .,tabla... m from Delhi, India. I play tabla, drums and djembe. :)

  • Hi, Takdinadin , very nice & sensitive, less is more definitely, i like the sound of your Na but that Tabla looks like it will need a pull soon as its on 4 lashings already & might get hard to keep at that pitch soon. Good luck with your musical journeys - Shanti

  • Gifted man you are. lovely, gorgeous music .

  • @craftne . Thank you so much for listening and receiving!

  • very nice....can ya' tell me what effects/delay unit you are using?

  • So awesome! I really gotta get me a pair of tablas.

  • Great music, and the sound quality is real nice!

  • I had just sent you a message, but I forgot to ask u "What kind of drum is the Green?" I had never seen anything like that.

  • @monaovation . It's a HAPI drum. Very cool way for percussionists to play harmony any melody. It's purely acoustic, aside from the heavy delay effects I put on it.

  • I wish I knew u - I'm a Keyboardist/Pianist & a couple of yrs. ago I got into Classical Indian Music. Matter of fact, Tabla became my Fav instruments & I just started taking lessons. Besides jamming w/ other Rock Musicians on Gtr. my other goal is to jam w/ other musicians on Tabla. That is, I'm trying to do what you're doing - creating that "East Meets West" thing. Besides, I wonder if u thought about putting this on a Soundtrack for a movie?! Anyway, I LOVE UR MUSICIANSHIP!

  • @monaovation . Thank you so much for the compliments. I appreciate the depth of your listening. I would love to compose for film- do you know any producers that would need this music? Enjoy the tablas. They are one of the most amazing instruments in the world, and they take a lifetime of study to really make them sing.

  • Very good sound. Neat jam! Tabla sounds just awesome. Great drumming.

You got really nice sandbox there.

Do I see Boss DD3 there on the floor?

    Regards.

  • @jitterbuba . Thank you for the compliments. It's a Boss DD-7 pedal. I love it for studio effects. The trouble is that when I try using heavy delay with microphones and percussion in a live setting, I run into alot of feedback issues.

  • bro you're a musical genius=) I'm a musician too, and if only I live nearby where you live I might ask you for a collaboration=)

  • thanks, bro. I am in Florida. You play erhu?? I would love to hear some of your playing. be well.

  • I play few instruments too, mostly on string instrument and fiddles and also flutes, but the first instrument i've learned to play was the keyboards and piano.

Oh! i'm so faraway I'm in the Philippines right now but I might go to the states someday, we also have some relatives there in Florida=)

  • very VERY good, more please-particularly the good vibes---------

  • @tonytricks. Thanks, bro. I appreciate it. Working on some more tracks.

  • I hope you intend to post more videos !

  • Cool stuff!

what is the pedal with your right foot for?

  • @mlistpercussionist

Hey, thanks. I was triggering a kick drum sound with a midi module. it's just not very loud in the mix.

  • Awesome track!!! Straight to Favorites...

  • fantastic. I love this song;

  • Absolutely inspiring! Your a talented guy!

  • Thanks Mike!!! I checked out your channel and I love your attitude, man. Sharing is what it's all about. Man, you've got some killer chops! Drum set was one of my first instruments, but I haven't invested much time into building chops in recent years. Tabla has stolen my attention.

  • More. Please. That was amazing.

  • Thank you.

  • Nice work

  • Thanks alot. I just checked out your channel. Very nice stuff you've done with the Hapi

  • Thanks. I haven't done much with my Hapis recently - a number of us made a 'Hapi Birthday' cd back in May and I think I overdid it then. Time to get back to it

  • Freakin' SWEET! Love the looping! What was the pedal under your right foot when you were playing tabla? Did that stop the repeats from the tabla?

  • Thats nice! That green instrument is called Hapi?

  • @intezam - yes, that's the Hapi.

  • Super cool Jeff!! Amazing Youtube debut....hope to see more soon

  • Thanks, Rob
