I'm not sure if Blizzard actually revolutionizes the RTS genre as you say. I like the upgrades and the fact that the Terran missions is so diverse. The story does a very good job of expanding all that is known about SC. My problem comes from the fact that single and multi are still split with little diversity in the multi game. I would love to have the single player influence multi in some way.

Portal = 8 hours, SC II = maybe 20 hrs of singleplayer and a limitless multiplayer.

SC also asks for some dedication (=learning). Portal for a tad more relaxed gaming moments.
