@volvo2403 The construction of Estonia's bow visor had a catastrophic failure in it's design and was not designed to sail in such rough sea. Still, the shipyard classed Estonia to be able to sail anywhere at any time, and so they did. There are clear signs on the wreckage that the bow visor was torn apart from the bow section of the ship. Back then there were no regulations on how the weather forecast had to be to get permission to sail.

The ship doesn't float on the car deck. Water in the car deck will therefore not deminish bouyance. It will deminish stability. It will make the ship capsize. But at the same time, any water that enters above the bouyance levels (above water line) will immediately leave the through the whole that it came from.

The visor and the ramp locks failed. But still, the ramp could shut itself and lock itself after the water entered the ship (Wtf?).

@bigpizza112 And a lock that is forced and damaged, cannot all of a sudden start working perfectly and keep loads and loads of water inside (that wants to go out). Remember, the visor could force the ramp open. And still the amount of water that is supposed to sink the vessel, cannot open it up. Even after the locks are initially trashed. The desinformation is insane. BASIC logic prevails. It's incredible how people let media think for them.

this is not the truth about what happened, it was the Swedish military, which was carrying highly explosive stuff on the boat and the boat exploded. The Swedish military did not want anyone to know about this so they wanted to quiet down and that's why they tell me that the boat sank because it was leaking into the water ... but that's not true

Yes, you can call it that, if you take a look in a picture... I dont know if they show it but you can also clearly see footprints on the innerside of the visator, the crew had to use a hammer to lock the visator, so, yes it was a bad construction.

The Ramp was good but the Visator was actualy to wide for the ship, that maked it damageable, also, Estonia didnt have "Atlantic Doors", it is located just beheind the Ramp, if something goes wrong with the Visator, the Atlantic Doors would hold the water from getting inside.
