rjam I take you point, bands did write deep lyrics at a young age, however none were as successful as the Bee Gees were at the age of 17. The Beatles charted in 1962 at the aprox age of 22. So in my opinion that makes their career even more incredible!
You have to remember that this was probably the norm when bands regardless of rock soul or pop. Carol King, Beatles and many others started writing deep lyrics at a very young age. Its scary because you would think that they did those songs in their late 30s. Bee Gees are even more remarkable because they literally had a different sound in the 70's compared to their early years. How many acts have you ever seen that can totally reinvent their sound like they did to be megastars?
musica inolvidable aunque no vivi esa epoca me emociona escucharla bella armonia de voces que se dan una vez en el ciclo Gracias por sus bellas voces y esos agudos.
First song I ever heard from The Bee Gees. Then I decided to learn how to play the guitar. Until this time there was no day in my life without Playing a Bee Gees Song. Thank you very very much: BARRY,ROBIN and MAURICE (Good luck in heaven)
The world of song will be a lot less without the Brothers,we have lost two so far and I hope we dont lose any more for a long time for I think the best is to come !!!
Barry said in regards to his trademark falsetto that when he was told to sing, he couldn't scream 'cause that would be too loud; so he was told to just soften up his scream, and thus his falsetto was born.
I meant that I saw about the falsetto voice on that show. He said they voted for him to try it and they thought it sounded nice. He said it in answer which song was their first one they used on and it was "How can you mend broken heart".
I was wondering in this video who was playing the guitar and who was playing the organ. It looks like Vince Melouney, who usually plays guitar, is playing the organ, and Maurice Gibb, who played the keyboards, bass, and guitar, is playing the guitar. BTW, that is Colin Petersen on drums, and Robin Gibb and Barry Gibb singing the lead vocals.
(12 yrs) but lived on martha's vineyard mass. for 15 years. i went back for two weeks in early may and this song was on my mind the whole way. i miss home and love the bg's mj

The drummer Colin Petersen. Did he leave of his own accord ?

He was axed during Cucumber Castle and tried to sue the Bee Gees to prevent them from performing under the name 'Bee Gees', he, of course, failed.;)

There are no such vocal masters like the Gibb Brs. an probably will never be.

Back when folks were wearing flowers in their hair in San Francisco, the Gibb Brothers was dreaming about Massachusetts :)
