God-men and God-women are directly into mystic experience with the Divine. But the Organised religions in the name of helping for such experience end up in institutions running business establishments. Lets hope that we are led by religiosity than by mere religions.

Real Sufies with no religion are some sort of atheist in fact. The god they believe is the one who created this world, made pamegreat flower blush, or whoever made sugarcane sweet.At a higher level, they say we don't know who he is. In fact, we know nothing.However, real Sufi never let everyone (religious people)know about it because these people can not comprehend this. Anyone who understand Sufism reads Rumi poems and never need religion as part of his life which I think is incredible.

@joyaditta01 that's an uninformed statement. certain sufi practices contradict the religion itself clearly when scripture is consulted and are taken from other religions (hinduism,etc) and are nowhere to be found in the holy book which is the highest source we have on earth. praying at graves and 'saints' claiming divinity and other acts are outside the religion. there's nothing wrong with loving god and seeking true peace on earth but why deviate the original message to fulfil ulterior motives?

While I definitely enjoyed the Sufi concerts/ceremonies in Turkey, I really was moved by those I experienced in Cairo.  Maybe because of the cosmetic nature of tourist-attraction dervishes (although I hope the whirlers do truly experience the divine connection), the Egyptian ceremonies used more bold tones/frequencies made by wind instruments . The teachings of Rumi/Sufism seem liberating...and consistent with recent scientific discoveries about love, sound, and healing--good stuff...

I really admire Sufi Islam because of its core teachings of non-violence, Tolerance and Pluralism and its usually very open, I always been an open-minded and easy-going person, Sufis put an emphasis on love, which is very nice and its probably our best hope for peace, I also admire the humanistic and rational interpretations of Islam also because of their openness and flexible, salafi and wahabi islam turned me off, I'm glad they weren't the first Muslims I met otherwise I wouldn't be a Muslim.

Rather a parallel RELIGION .

Sufism has its own laws and practices explicitly explained in their books.

There is no room for Sufism in ISLAM.

There is nothing in the Koran that forbids joy, pleasure, music. Enjoying a rave or being a hippy doesn't make you 'misguided'. As a muslim you should know that its not your place to make judgments about how others pursue a relationship with God.

Sufism is a very beautiful!! But brothers/sisters be very cautious about maintaining balance!! Sufi means the Lover of Allah and his Messenger(SAW) and all the great saints were Lovers of Allah and his Messenger(SAW). It is narrated in the Musnad of Ahmad (ra) that the Holy Prophet salalahu alayhi wasalaam said: "Udkhurullahu Hatta Yaqulu Majnun" = "Do so much rememberance of Allah the people declare you Mad".

In another riwaya: Abu Said al Khudri (ra) reported that the Blessed Prophet salalahu alayhi wasalaam said "Do so much dhikr that people declare you mad", (Abu Yala and Ibn Hibban). Both of whom declared it Sahih.

Actually, all organised religions fear the mystic experience at the heart of their own belief systems, because it cannot be controlled by priests or dogma. It is a direct experience with the Divine, open to all.

Very true, even though Islam is not supposed to have an institution, the ulema since the 10th century, claimed sole authority to interperet the Koran and hadith, and this has caused an intellectual drain fewer and fewer scholars came until the scholars were no more than recycling knowledge rather than processing knowledge which gave the Muslim world the edge for so long, every Muslim in theory is in a sense his own priest, meaning Muslims have an individual right to intreperet their faith.
