Sounds like Jordan is not satisfied with his accomplishments. Another example of how money does not equal happiness. In these tough economic times, it's important to be happy with the simple things in life.
Awesome speech, he said all the right things, people are just stupid and don't remember history. Jordan put up with a lot of crap, and people always ask him how he deals with it and stays competitive. He was just giving the answer. Awesome speech. Bryon Russel is a loser running his mouth who was on a team with 2 legends. What they know that he should have - you don't kick the 600 pound gorilla. Great job MJ. You see who your friends are now.
I appreciated all the emotion and build up that MJ had probrably developed over the years waiting for this moment, I think the speech overwhelmed him and he most likely would like to redo it but still I appreciate the speech for what it was. He loved the game, did he have to say it... no. He knows how much the game gave to him did he have to say it...again...no. His speech needed to be different than others past, and it was. Your the greatest MJ.
I heard all the radio hosts saying he burned on people throughout this, i didn't really notice much, maybe it was edited, but he was a competitor. Let the guy live his life however he sees fit.

10 Reasons Why Jordan Cried 1. Realizes his ex just took half. 2. Jonesing for a cigar. 3. The only person he could scounge up to stand next to him David Thompson. 4. Commisioner David Stern not in attendance. 5. Just got his golf handicap. 6. Looking out in the audience, realizes only person who MIGHT like him is his mother. 7. His own kids hate him. 8. Knows HE is the reason his old man got whacked. 9. Just lost a one on one with Will Ferrell 10. Pushed off Bryan Russell last shot
why are you talking shit about Michael Jordan? I mean seriously, how could you dislike him that much? He had such amazing basketball skills. I'm not gonna put you down, I just want you to be honest. Why don't you like him?
I was waiting for this moment all along. For MJ to say something about all the critics and naysayers. Back in the day, he had his game to shut them up. At last he got his redemption, but you can't expect these guys to get hurt with those comments. To me it's more of honoring the these guys' competitiveness instead of lashing out at them. I think some people would not appreciate the speech as they aren't and will never be as competitive as in mind and heart as MJ.
Michael Jordan is the greatest player to play the game. He put the finesse into the game. the mid air switch hand lay up, the reverse lay up, free throw line dunk. You would not see that without Mike. You can't have a conversation about Kobe or Lebron without asking " Is he better than Michael Jordan?" He is the reason i watched basketball. This was his moment to speak and i seen nothing negative about it but what inspired him to do better.
ITs amazing to see sum blast from the past in the crowd that MJ either teamed or went against,Seeing Scottie Pippin in teh crowd and seeing other old favs like Charles Barkley just makes u feel the history.
Well said my friend. The speech could have been better. Better comments about his kids like the others. MJ was just better on the court. That night there were more eloquent speakers than MJ.
Was that the whole speech? Did I miss somethign? I read about what a vicious and venemous speech he gave which made him "unworthy" of the hall fo fame. I was waiting to hear it. I heard nothing of the sort in that speech.
why does it matter? he's the best ever, and last night was HIS moment. not yours, not mine, and not the revolving door of teammates he had throughout the years, it was HIS moment. he's done more for the sport than anyone in history, and he's the reason im a fan of the game. as far as im concerned, he could have walked up, said "I'm the shit bitch", and walked off. but he didn't; he gave a great, entertaining speech in which he gave credit to so many other people. you're fucking dumb.
That is a bold face lie. He does not compare to Pele in Soccer and nobody was more dominant in his particular team sport more than Wayne Gretzky. Check the stats its not close.
It's true. Jordan as a scorer is behind Malone and Kareem. As a player that up lifts others he does not compare to Magic. I believe that he is a great player but his records are all second to Kareem.
He was definitely dominant in his era, as Kobe is right now.
Do not let Nike and his commercials blind you from the truth my friend. Look at the stats, he played when in a time when all the true greats were gone. Think about it. Charles Barkley, Hakeem, Ewing, Stockton Malone. That was it.
Look when Kareem, Magic, Bird, Bernard King, Isiah Thomas, and many, many others.
My friend, once again check the stats. I am not saying was not one of the greatest of all time but he was not the best ever. Most of his records are second to Keareem and Wilt.
The talent micheal played against was far superior to who wilt played. and kareem had constant allstar talent around him. micheal made people like bill cartwright, will purdue, scottie pippen, and Horace grant look really good.
ive been saying that for years Jordan came into the league at the right place at the right time Bird, Thomas, Kareem, Dr. J were old or on the verge of retirement
you idiot, what i was saying when he won championships, those two were passed there prime, couldnt compete with him, There were no more Isiah, Bird, Erving. Right place right time, he wouldnt have won if his career woould have been parellel to Johnson, Bird.. These guys had tremendous squads too
I am not a Kobe fan. I believe he played on a very good team but he is not in this conversation. However, is he dominant right now, yes. I truly do not believe he is a better star than Wade, or James but lets give him his due for winning right now.
The most dominant player over the last ten years 1. Tim Duncan, 2. Shaq, 3. Kobe Bryant, 4. Jason Kidd
Shaq's production in the last 5 years alone has dropped, Id put Kobe at no.2 Look at how many games Kobe has played in the last 5 years and look at how many Shaq has played, Kobe truly fired u his game during the 2003 season til now to me he's looked like the tru dominant guy in the league
This great man will forever be a legend. He has inspired many to push themselves to the limit, he has not only changed the game of basketball but the shoe industry as well. Anybody who says that kobe or lebron is better, you really need to recognize that they don't even reach his ankles. This has truly been a defining moment.
Jordan is the best basketball player ever, period. There will never be another Jordan. Guys like lebron and kobe are good players but you don't compare them to Michael. I practically retired from watching NBA after Jordan left.
Chicago will never forget what this man has brought to the city and basketball in general. 100 years from now they'll still be talking about him that's how amazing he was. MJ, you are the definition of living legend, nuff said.
he is very humble and truly has the skills that are untouchable to play in the game of basketball. we talk about the greatest now being Lebron or maybe Kobe but Michael is truly a legend. nothing more, nothing less.
Magic, Bird, Kobe, you're all great! But, there will never be a Michael Jordan. He is just that much better, that much more exciting and marketable. His highlight reel for 1 season is more than top player's careers. People forget how crazy good Jordan was. Every night it seemed, was a highlight reel putting up 40+!
The world loves Michael Jordan as they loved Michael Jackson!

Ok i heard in the media that his speech was bitter & hateful and vengeful. He could have been a little more graceful.
Toward the end he did make it all about himself but he did that to say what motivated him.
But he wasnt good at deflecting some of the glory to others & like other charismatic people.
