  • Beautiful fish, the video does not do his blue colors justice though,

  • @aTrueAfrican True that. I just used the overhead lights for the video. Flash units make a big difference.

  • If the fish you have is bigger than this one...I doubt it's female. This fish is 14" long. Typically the female of the species is much smaller. Lots of Paratheraps can have that spangling. Could be Fenestratus or Melanurus. If you want to email me a photo I will see if I can identify it. mojo@epix.net

  • I think I have a female version of this fish.. perhaps even bigger than this one... do the females have a pink face and bluey/pinkish speckles on their top?

  • Excellent fish aquamojo :) My females extremely similar, mines at about 14" just not as thick. If you fancy a view chek it out on my video section :) cheers

  • What an awesome specimen, thanks a lot for sharing the video of this pet fish.

  • How do you move such a huge fish?

  • I use a 3mil industrial garbage bag. I could do it with a large net, but with the bag it doesn't damage the fins.

  • @Aquamojo And the net could damage a smaller vieja?? 2-3 inch

  • What a great fish! Very alert :) Thanks

  • Dang! Some idiot released lots of these fish into our river systems. They're irritating. I have caught several and brought them home to keep.

  • he's cute
