Whats powering the fans, the xbox it self? And could you give me any tips on how to accomplish this.. i have a few spare 140mm fans i can use, i just need to know how to convert the power to 12V. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

@ganja16638 Thanks, but my two 120m fans have 3-pins... not 4-pins.. also i would like to use the stock Dual 70m fans that come this the xbox 360 Plus a central fan on top for an exhaust and use the dual 70m's for air intake. Basically i would like to know how to convert a 120m fan to run at 12v w/o robbing the xbox of power... so the 120m fan is running from the outlet. If anyone can transfer me to a tutorial video on how i can accomplish this, i'll be much appreciated.

So how exactly does a 360 fan work? All it is designed to do is take hot air out? That is kinda stupid don't ya think. Correct me if I am wrong but intake pushes air out faster and brings in cooler air.

if you want to truely cool down your xbox....cut the grill behind the fan.....the air restriction is incredible...i took my case off to customize my box and i tried blowing through the lil holes...nothing....barly and air passes through....the moment i cut all that out, my xbox stayed cool without putting super noisy fans

@Truemoderate Wow... No other SEGA consoles have had GPUs under DVD drives. Good point. With Xbox originals, you had to buy a DVD thing so you could watch movies. SEGA Saturns and SEGA master systems never had a DVD drive from where the consoles are so old.. BUT... I've seen modded SEGAs with a whole crap-load of stuff on it... DVD drives and other crap! XBOX 720 will be much bigger to where they have enough room for a GPU and a DVD drive together...

On the older consoles the heatsinks were different. There is the old school one that has a heatpipe running through it and the there is the new updated version called the Falcon heatsink that is significantly better in everyway. The fan he is using is an XCM core cooler in blue and this version is only applicable for the old heatsinks. There are newer fans which are smaller for the falcon's but this one is the old school. Talismoon fan in rear and glow mod attached to rf module for rol effect.

Nobody will ever banned for such mods. What bans people are tinkering with gamesave files such as: Cheating gamer score, copying saves from other people through unfair methods/means, DVD drive firmware hacks (disc game piracy), DLC piracy/hacks, account stealing/trafficking, improper motto/bio.

They will never ban people for leds, fans and other mods because it's not detectable. Just be a honest player and you're safe from banning.

However you have to remember tampering with your system will void the warranty. With xbox its not a good idea because of the red ring of death. Although controllers are usually fine. And I don't think painting it is tampering so if you want to you can try that.

No. If you take the sticker off with a hairdryer and a blade carefully you wont mess it up and it can be re-applied to the 360 when needed. But you don't want to leave the fan in if you were to send it for repair. Trust me. I flash 360's for people remove the sticker and reposition it right back on. MS doesn't know anything. Don't listen to paranoid idiots like JegVilSeElgenX2. He doesn't know anything and shouldn't be posting at all.

Microsoft's a bitch. They've added stickers on the inside of the case (Yes i know - HOW?), so when you open the case, the stickers are broken.

Conclusion : If you open the case, the stickers will move, rip apart - > Microsoft will notice it - > Void warranty.

I keep asking myself : How did they get in the stickers, and how the hell can they know if the stickers are broken? They are opening the case themselves! I'm telling ya. Bill Gates is sick :S
