he was staring at the ball at the start. pros when they hit they look at the ball and rarely move their head/neck.

Yeah it's true sadly. However, even though it's short he just throws in the down the line backhand for a winner out of nowhere, deep too. And when he's on he hits a lot of his backhands deep, especially down the line right into the corner. However, he uses the shortness of his backhand to his advantage by using it for angles, which is why his down the line is so successful.

And just aim higher after copying it and you're set. :p
