  • Penn State's defense got good penetration.

  • This was the most watched college football game and yet it was an ugly game evn though it was exciting at the end

  • Miami dominated this game with 15 more 1st downs, 450 yrds to Penn St.'s 160, and time of poss.

Miami ran and passed at will. This game would have been a blow out.

The only reason it was close was because of the 5 interceptions and the 9 penalties ( a few were BS calls by the way )

Penn State got a gift !!

But thats why they play the game and Miami has to live with it

  • @madcane19 I understand your argument, but it was apparent that Penn State was content to give up yards to Miami as long as there were NO big plays. The key was to make Miami drive the ball down the field and the longer Testeverde had the ball, the more likely he will get impatient and force the ball into coverage. Look at all of the passes that he threw that were 10-15 yards down field; the receiver was surrounded by at least 3 defenders. They called no screens and PSU was up field all night.

  • @madcane19 However, the Miami offense was so good, it had all of those TO's and was still in a position to win.

  • @2Phaktor and just when i was excited as heck about Al Golden kickin azz and cleaning house and feeling confident of him leading us back to where we once were....... this new crap happens from the old staff. I pray Al stays and brings us back because I truley believe he's awesome and doesn't take no grief and makes kids earn their spots no matter who they are.

  • @madcane19 Miami is lucky they are in that weak ACC conference. Even with minimum scholarships, they are in a hotbed of talent, so they will be competitive. The names dropped by that snitch from the jail jeopardizes everything for that program and the AD will be forced to sanction the program before the NCAA applies punishment. You have to admit, that program was built on a culture of payoffs to players...I am still astounded by that 2001 team where pretty much everyone was a high draft pick.

  • @madcane19 - not so fast dude. Penn State's linebackers and secondary harassed the WR's from Miami all night. Watch how hard they get hit on EVERY play, and how many passes were dropped all game - notably how many were caught THEN dropped!!! They were scared stiff by the 2nd quarter, and had Vinny T thoroughly confused by the 3rd.

  • IF bubba mcdowel would have taken a risk and made a B-line right for penn states kicker they might have won.

  • Vinnie Interceptaverdi....

  • That Penn State would hit you and hit you hard.

They still hit hard these days but damn that bunch would bruise you!

  • Tastaverde played his worst college game ever (5 interceptions) and Miami STILL had a chance to win at the end. That's how good they were.

  • @JRFrancisco20088 A team is only as good as its weakest link.

For those that scapegoat Testeverde. He didn't commit the 9 penalties Miami committed. He didn't give up 4 sacks to a 3 man front. Testeverde didn't fumble 4 times. Testeverde didn't catch the interceptions Penn State forced and didn't recover the 2 fumbles for Penn State. Testeverde didn't give up 100 rushing yards to Dozier. Testeverde didn't hold Miami to 53 yards rushing thus forcing him into predictable passing downs.

  • @JRFrancisco20088 so good they lost to a better team huh?

  • God, Testaverde was awful in this game.

  • I take it blow to the QB's head was not a penalty back then? Tim Johnson's sack on Vinny at 25 seconds left was unbelievable, but it's amazing to me watching this that such a play would draw no flag. (For the record, I'm not a fan of either team, nor am I trying to take a single thing away from PSU's win.)

  • @Larryzelreh

The thing about that is, they used to let the guys play football!

  • Isn't that Vinnie Interceptaverdie playing quarterback for Miami??

  • What in world was that number #11 doing at punt return for the U???!!! That guy's forty time must have been a 4.ever, he was horrible!!!

  • Notice the two dork announcers don't say a word when it's obvious Penn State will win the game. Absolutely disgusting. F##k Bob Griese, wherever you are. You make me sick! And Charlie Jones can kiss my a##, too. Worthless partisan jerks!

  • @dougalmac54 Idiot! What in the hell are you talking about? That game came down to the final play, so how in the hell would Bob Griese obviously know Penn State would win the game? Your a tool. Period.

  • @Legend1One AFTER the Giftopolous interception, you dipwad! Learn to think before you open your idit mouth, douchebag! What a stupid jerk-off.

  • @dougalmac54 What was Bob Griese suspose to say in the waining seconds of the game, numb nut? What kind of soliloquy was should've he given us? Hell, he was probably in shock -- like the rest of the nation -- that Penn State had actually won the game or was going to win the game. Your a Jack Ass, and your original post proves it. Numb nut.

  • @Legend1One You're obviously too stupid to get it, why don't you disappear, douchebag. Penn state won the game because they were a better team, and Griese is still a moron and couldn't handle, like you, that mighty Miami was clearly outplayed by Penn State. Deal with it, jackass! You're such a Miami homer jerkoff!

  • Bob Griese is an absolute idiot. Any time he announces a Penn State game he has his head so far up the other team's butt they have to install a window in their gut for Griese to see out.

  • Jimmy Cefalo did the game who played for penn state

  • @rmp8473 Read what I wrote to dougamac54. The same applies to you.
