i just don't get it, why do you even put ypur key into position 2, if the position 1 is enough! i mean u're killing the battery on position 2, and if you want to watch how parameters change just start the motor...
P.S. jerekawa400 on almost every beemer it's the same. Function defer by year's slightly and depending on the fuel type - gasoline or diesel and diesel bmw is not a myth :D
I work on bmw's. The cluter test is hardly ever used. The only thing tat goes bad is the lcd sometimes not as often on the newer ones. There are far more things you sould worry about when buying one. Not to say it is not a cool test. You sould see what the new F01 looks like during the cluster test.
@bimmersgarage No but I can record it next time I work on one. I will only show the video of the cluster test. I cannot give out info on how to access the cluster tests b/c I could be fired from my job. Sorry. I'm sure many people know how already but they will not learn from me.
There's a whole list of things you should check and look for on a E46. Let me find it and I'll send it to you.
Main thing is to make sure the seller has a good maintenance record of the vehicle. There's certain items that needs to have been replaced at specific mileages.
Keep me posted on your search and eventual purchase.
The main reason for this is to diagnose any issues with the Cluster itself. Also, if you needed to confirm (or have any doubts) some of your warning-light(s) are not working properly, because these lights are multi-staged (the same gauge light has multiple colors, depending on severity of the condition) and to be sure the dials are moving full range, ie: temperature, RPM, etc.Lastly,it's also a check to see if anyone tampered with the lights - engine warning, service light, etc.
Hey glad you found us. Welcome to the club. So, grab your favorite six pack of beer and enjoy the rest of the videos. Hope they will help you in the near future!

where the green fog light is.... there is another yellow one.. what is that for?? thanks

@oscarv362370
That yellow light icon by the green is for the rear fog lamps... However, it's not a standard feature on U.S. made vehicles.
