  • Standing up for your beliefs is important BUT not to victimize, abuse or hate. There's no way the Lds church would make anyone donate money if they didn't want to.

I don't hate gays. I don't agree with their lifestyle but as a Mormon we must allow others to worship how where or what they may. Which includes choosing whatever lifestyle they choose without judgement or hatred. Mormons have rights too. Leave them alone. They're following what they believe, it's different. Just get over it.

  • anyone who supported Prop 8 should be like the KKK and wear a hood over their heads. It's only appropriate.

  • I think this is a good thing. I think when people start to vote with their wallets, then the bigots will understand that they need to stop discriminatory laws such as the hateful Prop 8. It was wrong, and thank goodness it was overturned in court.

  • religion has caused so much trouble in the history of mankind... i mean seriously, take the crusades.

"ohh, you have to retake the holy land and you will enter heaven" srsly wtf

and what u christians did to scientists answering the questions of the universe is wrong.

like galileo, you put him under house arrest for life for proving the church wrong.

srsly..... words cant describe how fucked up religion can be

  • @83redrose83 In Christian community. Don't try to impose you religion as a doctrine we should all follow. Live your life and let other people live theirs.

  • @CriticsAndComments i agree w u. i'm not really a christian, i'm an atheist. gays should be pissed cuz it's all hate. it's about time the gays and lesbians get treated w respect, by all! i'de do the same thing if i were hated upon and treated differently.

  • Homsexuality is a perversion and a disorder

  • @VictoryRepublican lmfao, keep complaining, your religion has taken more lives than the holocaust

  • You fellers can take er in the hinder, I don't care, just don't try to have babies is all I ask.

  • @texanrob

Can I ask you to cite your sources? As far as I can remember, we have never even meant that "homosexuals are satanic." If you want to see what we really believe, try mormon.org (hope you can see what is true! )

  • I am confused as to why we Mormons seem to come across as "hating homosexuals" so many times. I will repeat what has been said so many other times: WE DO NOT HATE THEM! Can anyone explain to me why people think we are such hateful people?

  • @demonkin14 The mormon church has compared gays with satan, clamed they were satanic, that they were filthy. Now why as a gay man would I love a person, church, or any organization that made claims like that about people like me! See the point!

  • Xians: "fuck you, gheys"

    Gheys: "fuck you, xians"

    Xians: "help! We're being persecuted!"

  • sodomite filth is all it is.filthy sodomite beasts

  • @doomedamerica You don't even deserve a reply with statements like that. You don't even know people like me.

  • sodomite filth is all it is

  • If someone doesn't want to eat at a restaurant, let them go somewhere else. If a restaurant owner supports a certain religious view, it is his or her choice, and it ought to be respected, even if someone else does not agree with it.

  • @Nonamearisto You know, you are correct, we can go to eat at another restaurant. The fact is this, her restaurant is in the middle of a gay getto, ( i say getto because we are not considered human, thus no rights ) Most of her patrons are gay. If they go somewhere else she will most likely go out of bussiness.

  • ScuseMeJudge, I did not read your bio or you intro to this video clip & I don't care to. Whoever supports Prop 8, fine. Let them support it. And if they don't like it, fine. Let them not like it. If they want to crawl off to the garbage bin in the back alley and choke their chicken, fine. Keep the noise down and bag the feathers. I don't care. But when anyone for or against Prop 8 starts making threats, harassment or any form of intimidation, THAT is defined in US law as an act of terrorism.

  • 70% of that restaurants employees are homosexual. Boycotting that restaurant only hurt other homosexuals. People get angry at the owner but don't realize the owners of business have there own money and other investments. Boycotting only hurts the little employees not the big bosses. If the business goes under then all the employees, in the case are homosexuals, get unemployed and you only hurt your people. Does this make sense to anyone? Put religious and political views aside.

  • I would like to see the gay marriage activists attack a Muslim Mosque and see what happens.

  • I was born into a Mormon family, and finally left the religion when I got old enough to act on my own opinions and beliefs. I can say this gives me a better perspective on what motivates Mormon behavior. The gay issue still perplexes me. Mormons have a strong belief in "free agency," which means that man is free to do as they chose, and will be judged for it in the afterlife. So why not lay of the gays then? Even if you don't agree with their lifestyle... let them be. I don't get it.

  • And the reason that californians were pissed about religious groups protesting prop 8 is that THEY WEREN'T FROM CALIFORNIA. We have a right as a state to decide this shit for ourselves without religious groups trying to project their version of morality on our citizens with millions of dollars in deceptive attack ads. Keep your damn religion to yourselves and people won't hate christians. It takes an arrogant religion to constantly try to subjugate other view points as inferior. Let us decide!!

  • lol boohoo christians claiming intolorance. Well it's finally time you experience some after 1000 or so years of persecution, murder and torture. How do you conservitards reconcile your beliefs that the federal government shouldn't interfere in private lives with your endless need to regulate what you think is immoral behavior. 6 million of my ancestors died because christian morals told them jews weren't worth shit so excuse me if I'm skeptical of your view of morality.

  • @durhamdf the Holocaust occurred because of an athiestic sociopath, and a bunch of apathetic nations who "didn't want to get involved". Religion had nothing to do with it.

  • @danewage I don't recall blaming any particular religion for the holocaust or mentioning the holocaust in my comments to this video. Although since you bring it up, I would argue that religion had everything to do with the holocaust. Jews were the most scapegoated people's on earth and much of this is due to the catholic church's retarded insistence that Jews had murdered Jesus and the general hatred christians of all types had for all non-christians at the time. Soo yeah, religion palyed a role

  • @durhamdf a perversion of religion may have attributed to the environment in which the Holocaust would was allowed to happen, but religion itself is not the cause. Nowhere in Holy writ is it stated that Jews should be punished for the death of Jesus. In fact, the very first Christians were Jewish converts. But if it were merely about a religion, Jews wouldn't have had such troubles in all the non-Christian lands they were sent to, excepting a universal distrust occurring.

  • @danewage THey did, it wasn't taken to the same level but most Americans and Europeans were just as anti-semitic as the average German at the time of the holocaust. I agree though that religion didn't cause the holocaust, but organized religion, the catholic chirch in particular, sure as hell didn't do anything to stop it or even speak out publicly against the atrocities committed by the Germans. Call it self-preservation, that doesn't make it any better in my book

  • @durhamdf the sad truth of it, is it's still going on. Since the UN established the Jewish state of Israel, they've been undermining Israeli interests. I agree with you that something is moving the world against Jews in general and Israel specifically. Yes, Christianity has not done Jews much of a service in earlier years, but they have proven to be a fairly staunch ally in recent times, out of love or guilt has yet to be seen, but it seems genuine.

  • @danewage yeah that I would agree with. ALthough I have to say that a minority of the evangelical christians just support Israel because they want Jews to leave America for Israel as they believe that this is a sign of the rapture. But yes, today obviously Jews are far less oppressed in Western nations with Christian majorities

  • @durhamdf True, one of the signs of the coming of Messiah (1st or 2nd coming depending on your beliefs) is that Israel would be gathered again unto her own lands, so it's in everyone's best interests that Israel stays where it's at (assuming you want Messiah to come).

  • Disbar the California faggot biased judge. He legislates from the bench. I find it interesting that ABA is not looking to disbar this judicial activist. I have lost all respect for the ABA. The ABA is an unamerican communist organization.

  • @ToxicOdiousOne You are so deep in the closet your finding old christmas presents.

  • No queers. No service. It's owner's right to restrict service to anybody they want. They don't need a reason.

  • @ToxicOdiousOne I think the civil rights act would beg to differ

  • I dare any Gay, Lesbian, or transgender person to come up to this Mormon right here(me). You know what I would do to them?

I'de give them a big hug, and tell them I loved them:) I'm sure Jesus would do the same thing, and that is what our Church teaches........

  • haha your a mormon what a d-bag

  • You know you want a hug:)

  • yes he does...

  • Your church actively campaigns to deny GLBT people their right to fully pursue their own happiness, how absurd that you claim you and your church love GLBT people, utter rubbish. Certainly one of the most condescending and selfish forms of love I've ever witnessed...

  • This video is funny. She had to donate money to prop 8? Thats the most ridiculous thing I've ever heard in my life.....lol

GLBT should work on their credibility, than maybe people will start taking them serious.

  • @supermonkey100 your family and friends love you, yet I'm sure you could recall a few times they wouldn't just stand idly by as you do something they think is wrong or stupid.

  • @brian8793 I totally agree. That is what most members of the church would do. I have expressed concern to some members of my ward about the church's involvement in Prop 8, but it comes down to the church does what it believes is right and it has that right. I think in California, where I used to live, and lived during this time, was so controversial because so many couples were married during the time in which it was legal. If that had not been the case like in Maine......

  • @JohnRhysMusician I'm sorry, I believe in civil unions, equal employement opportunity, fair housing, but I do not believe that same sex marriage should be legal. I can't see how any Christian who has ever read the Bible wouldn't agree...

  • @brian8793 I am a supporter of same sex couples's ability to have civil unions, however civil unions are NOT entitled to the same benefits as marriage and can be treated differently in some states than marriage. I am supporter of most anti-discrimination protections for them as well.

I still think the major problem in California is that we participated in taking this right away from them. We had banned it before, but it was struck down. Unlike in other states where the church has been involved.

  • @JohnRhysMusician We will always participate to take away gay marriage. It's evil, and unexcepted. God Bless The Prophet....

  • @JohnRhysMusician I don't believe that civil unions should have equal benefits. That would be promoting and rewarding this unholy union. The fact that this is even an issue in America is a tell tell sign of the last days...

  • @brian8793 Oh well. I would just hate to come off as discriminatory.

  • @JohnRhysMusician I don't either. I have always stood up for gay rights, and equal treatment. The Church has stood up for gay rights as well. Marriage is an entirely different thing than basic human rights. This goes beyond that, into a realm of destruction. I'm sorry if I sound blunt, but I've given this a lot of consideration.

    Goodnight brother : )

  • @brian8793 Your opinion has been helpful. We do have to stand firm.

  • @JohnRhysMusician Thanks John, and it's good to see a fellow member who has such an open mind, even though most of us are.

    Peace dude : )

  • @JohnRhysMusician The Church is ran by Christ, John, and HIS Prophet would never give bad advice. The more attention the church gets, the better! That's what people just don't get about us. They think we are being ran by an earthly man, with human intelligence.

All of this prop 8 stuff surprised me because I actually know a few gay people here in Arizona who are MORMON! lol

  • @brian8793 How can there be a "gay" member of the church??? We excommunicate homosexuals, unless they are celibate life-long.

  • @JohnRhysMusician You only get excommunicated if you refuse help. My friends know they have a problem, and they're working on it. You can be celibate too for as long as you need. I had a weed and alcohol problem, and they helped me! Praise The Lord : )

  • @brian8793 Yes but it is no fun not being able to enter the temple. They aren't gay if they are trying to get help.

  • @JohnRhysMusician Very true Ryan. Not being in The Temple is NO FUN!

  • @brian8793

keep your church out of my government and maybe we will get along. crimes are for people who hurt other people, such as parents who teach lies to their children perhaps. boys kissing each other doesn't hurt anyone, so suck it up and let freedom ring.

  • @bradmanthethird Keep your gay kisses off of Church property. Our Church leaders to not get involved in Government. This is a social issue that any Christian would agree with. It would be the same if the majority of people in America thought it was ok to beat gays. If the majority of Americans thought it was ok to beat gays, the Church would step in and say HELL NO.

  • @bradmanthethird Just like when Joseph Smith declared slavery to be evil. The majority of America supported or didn't mind slavery, but not The Prophet.

  • Sure, brian. The Prophet would NEVER give bad advice. You'd never see a prophet making a statement saying something like "Shall I tell you the law of God in regard to the African race? If the white man who belongs to the chosen seed mixes his blood with the seed of Cain, the penalty, under the law of God, is death on the spot. This will always be so" because that would be false. Yep. Good thing you're so totally right. Prophets never lead us astray.

  • @NoAntecessor Back in those days, interracial relationships resulted in abused children, frowned upon by a racist society. Why would God want his children to bring people into this world just so they can be TORMENTED.

As far as white and black relationships to this day, I'm not sure I see how they have helped black people, specifically black women. Well over 60% of black women are single, and over 70% of black men leave their famalies.

You don't think black women should have a good mate?

  • @NoAntecessor Women should be able to get married on earth. This is why polygamy was common practice in The Bible, and during the first 50 years of The Church. After Christ returns, polygamy will continue.

You have a closed mind and can't see the responsibility and dignity The early Mormons had.

    OH WELL!

  • Nice. So it's "death on the spot" to help avoid unhappy children who'd be discriminated against. That punishment makes perfect sense. Oh, and even better, polygamy was so that "woman should be able to marry". Never mind that early utah demographics had far more men than women and had no need for certain men to take heaps of women. If you're interested in actual census data backing up my point, pm. Though I'm sure you'll be able to twist it so that the misogyny and racism was for our own good.

  • @NoAntecessor I don't know what the demographics were, but it's safe to say that whatever God commanded The Prophets to do, WORKED. The Church is in a position to fulfill Joseph Smith's prophesy. Remember, The U.S. Government wanted to destroy us.

I don't know the definitive reason God had for implamenting polygamy; I can only speculate. I do know that it worked, and I'm truly thankful to the amazingly resiliant early members of Christ's Church.

  • So, regardless of the facts, you've chosen to believe. I'm not going to rant against you for it, when I was a true believer I'd have done the same thing. Still, I wish I was well spoken enough or quick enough with the information to perhaps give you a small seed of doubt. Doubt is a wonderful thing, it makes us research and think for ourselves. Perhaps someday you'll find somebody who can share some with you :).

  • @NoAntecessor Believe it or not, I was an atheist, anti-Mormon before I converted.I was trying to find anything to prove the Church wrong.Everything I came across had a reasonable explanation to it.

Throughout my life I have seen the "ridiculousness" of Christianity. Mormons always intrigued me. I always thought the cross was weird. Pastors getting paid was weird. I always thought that if there was a God, he would have one way, one truth, and one organization.

    He does, my friend.

  • @NoAntecessor You can believe me or not, but I am very open minded and understanding person. My Cousin and my Uncle are gay, and I love them more than any of my friends. They have no problem with the Church, and my Uncle doesn't even care for gay marriage.(He lives in West Hollywood btw ; )

I would hope that you could look past this ONE SINGLE issue and respect my other views of the world. I am a very Liberal minded(fiscally conservative) guy, and not at all a redneck ; )

  • @NoAntecessor Besides Prop 8, and the "gay marriage" thing, is there anything else you have a problem with the Church. I mean in 2010, not in 1831, which, btw, I am very proud and thankful of the actions of our early Church members.

And YES, Joseph Smith WAS an abolitionist, and NOBODY gets paid in the Church. You prove to me one person that makes a living off of Christ in our Church, and I'll leave tomorrow.

    Night brother ; )

  • Honestly, beyond the historical discrimination against blacks and the way the church treats homosexuals, I don't actually have any issues with it.If it wasn't for those two things I'd even support its growth, since I consider most of its other activities relatively benign or positive. I don't, however, believe it to be true.

Oh, and if I was going to nitpick, I'd point out that apostles and higher are very handsomely compensated. CES teachers also receive a wage. But I get your point.

  • @brian8793 To be honest I deffend mormons when other religious people call it crazy because I don't think it's any stranger than any other religion. That being said, I don't like how mormons, catholics, and all kinds of christians especially seem to feel the need to push their beliefs on others. Sometimes it's subtle like going door to door to "talk". But sometimes like with gay issues and abortion, and drug reform laws you guys really go on the offensive with really emotionally charged rhetoric

  • @durhamdf You don't understand why we go door to door? If you have a problem with it, just tell them to go away. Put a "no solicitor" sign up. Abortion is wrong unless rape or incest was involved. Mormons don't go around and point fingers. That goes against our faith. We believe arguing is wrong, and that people can only be converted by what we refer to as "the holy ghost." "?Emotionally charged" is not The Mormons, I assure you

  • @durhamdf I'm not ashamed of my Church in the least. Joseph Smith was an abolitionist in 1841, and we are not "homophobic." I've know a lot of gay people, and I've never met one that had a problem with Mormons. We are kind to homosexuals. You can think what you want but I live it.

    Peace

  • @brian8793 I'm not saying you guys are openly homophoboc, well at least not most of you, but you can't deny that the argument against same sex marriage is purely based on religious values. And when people who aren't religious or follow a different religion feel that other people religious values are being pushed on them they get angry and deffensive. That is all I'm saying.

  • So, a legally and publically voted proposition, is being dealt with vigilante style?

Isn't voting record for private citizens, private?

Since the majority voted against this, i think this approach is not only pathetic and childish, but it will backfire in the end.

  • From the video description:

""Congress shall make no law" concerning religion"

That is exactly what is Prop 8.

  • think before you speak md you little bitch!

  • how much does dane make a year not that much he is too busy giving tithting to his church it really screwed up his plans for his gf so she dumped him lol oh well always more mormons to go around as they say plenty of fish to snap lol.

  • God. You on the other hand dane are not sorry you just clearly dont see the big picture your too wrapped up in the joseph smith story being true you forget about the actual Jesus from the bible you see not 100 percent accurate lol. Ididot dane you been o0wned today by me and byu anyone else who wants to own you.

  • you are a sad little creature, aren't you? Hope you find a church you can stand for more than a couple of months/years, then you may have a leg to stand on.

  • who are homosexual lesbian or bisexual or transgender? You call yoiur self a christian then act like one cause so far alls you showed is your religious nuit and dont even know what side your own you asshole lol whoops i sinned im sorry.

  • my other question is why do you seem like a chick then a guy and why are you so hatred towards gays yet your kind to people who are against abortion doesnt that make you a gay hypocrite? I mean its pretty damn gay to be for abortion if your a man lol and it makes sense if your woman but then again why would you have hatred for people

  • Once you run out of that money there is nothing left for them to stay lol its a buisness people and thats why its also a cult. Brainwashing people to do what they want and everyone else who doesnt by these rules even one is out cast and everyone comes at you like a demon from hell ripping at you mocking you and even spitting on you as well calling you names oh you true mormons are just a bunch of true morons.

  • Your Mormon women are like a strip joint with a variety of exotic dancers. All out for one thing your money thats about it everything else gets left on the way side peace out .

  • How many mormons are going to hell this is something we must ask our selves every day who are mormon lol. Just cause your mormon does not mean your going to hell but ask your self this how many Gods laws do you break aday? Do you seriously believe you can get to heaven by doing good works here on earth now you well get your anwswer of who is going to hell and who is not.

  • so far what i get from the variety of mormons is put a gun to my head and let it be loaded and the other thing you said for me that i have third grade education lol. Anything else you like to add there lol. .

  • You mormon women have alot of power Isis truly is with you in your mormon wards. Osiris is with the men as well as Isis.

  • Allow me to continue about mormon women they are so beautiful i feel like you know doing in my pants breaking some laws of chasity. How you like those apples mormons! Let me tell you if i had a mormon gf i would bang her so hard and so quick and she proably just lay there like she was the walking dead her groans would be silent she just lay there like nothing happen then she say are you all done already lol.

  • at the dances i like things to change freaking is now included at the dances and if you are going to wards marriage then why not be prepared for marriage as well freaking is great way to know each other equally.

  • I would also like to say that the new law is you can wear make up in the church if you are male or female the girls can have short skirts if they like for adam and eve were nakked it is not like they are nakked . I also like to have nakked services for people who are nudist may they also be welcomed.

  • For Jesus turned water into wine and when the wine came in him it turned to water the mormons do not understand that wine was chosen at the pass over not the water for the water when going into you turns into wine did you mormons ever think and now you become hypocrites lol. For i tell you the wine becomes water in you. You idiots!

  • lol, such ignorance. Did you know that the ACTUAL reason Jesus and the people in his day drank wine? It's because the water was FILTHY; they didn't have filtration systems back in that day, and aqueducts didn't exist in Israel; so they drank fresh wine of the grape (meaning little to no alcoholic fermenting) for their liquid refreshment.

  • did you know in the bible Jesus didnt ever say the water was dirty do not drink it. Did you know some people are actually blessed and dont get sick by what they eat some people are considered obedient to

  • Did you know he didn't have to, because it was common knowledge? Just like you don't write about days you wear clothes, because it's a given.

  • call it fun land where every one has fun and wine well also be in place of the water for when Jesus died on the cross it says that water and blood came out of him.

  • Your tithing well be restored to you for my millions well come from the big movies i make. I also want to increase actors in the mormonism and i no longer want to call it mormonism but to

  • leader i well turn things around i well make sure gays can get married in your temples and i well also claim that joseph smith teachings are in me but because i am joseph smith teachings i have turned around a new leaf and have decided that blacks no longer are cursed yet they are the chosen ones to this day for Obama is president there fore may the blacks also be blessed.

  • Also i like to also add in here if you are gay or not gay it should not be a reason why you cant work in america if it is a church organization and they dont want gay marriage then dont get married in there church simple as that you can hire someone out of there church or in there church to marry you., Obama how ever is doing a great job and i hope obama takes over mormonism and claims me as there new

  • "Mormons, more than any other people on earth today, perhaps, ought to know what governments can do, for in the 19th Century, the US Federal government sought to "destroy the LDS Church as an institution" as Gordon B. Hinckley expressed a while back"

Well maybe if you did not have such ridiculous beliefs that are COMPLETELY false (God resides on the planet Kolob) while denying scientific discoveries (being gay is not a choice), maybe you Mormons would not endure quite justifiable persecution.

  • Your facts are incomplete. No practicing Mormon believes God lives on Kolob; nor has there been any conclusive evidence as to whether being gay is a choice or not, scientists simply do not know at this time.

So are you implying that members of the lds faith should fear the government like in the 1800's and stfu? I would hope not, because if that is your case, you are seriously uninformed as to what early mormons actually went through and/or a very hateful person; neither trait being desireable

  • i wish you pathetic faggots would show up at my business and start protesting. there would be some serious gay bashing if you pussy little douchebags had the balls to show up. you people make me sick.

  • whats your religion are you mormon? If your not mormon then shut the fuck up lol.

  • If you are mormon let me know what buisness you like to me to send some gays to eat at your restaurant.

  • your clearly a walking abortion, so why don't you stick a loaded gun in your mouth and pull the trigger? and on a side note, try taking a basic spelling course, your spelling is at about a 3rd grade level.

  • Yes i know how you mormons hate abortion lol For Obama is for abortion so there fore i am also for Obortion. You get it good you silly mormons let me tell you something mdjbm your mormon women are hot and i well say it again so you can hear me loud and clear even though i am writing may you hear me I think mormon women are hot they are so hot they fug my lense now you know i wear lenses.

  • It's a shame your mother didn't abort you. Your clearly a waste of life. As far as Mormons go, i could care less about them one way or the other. Once again let me suggest you educate yourself. Judging by your childish grammar, I'm guessing your either an elementary school drop out, or the result of generations of inbreeding. Either way, you present yourself as an uneducated moron. That's MORON, not Mormon, i wanted to clarify that, since you seem to have an unhealthy obsession with Mormons.

  • You can claim anything you like your also scared im true in what i say dont think i dont know your mormon why else would you protect mormons lol.

Since i stated what i would do with the mormon wards if i was in charge and you have bitch fit saying i should put a loaded gun up to my head your talking off suicicde and you seriously have problems here and also are denying your mormon makes me laugh

  • i just commented on a video about gays protesting a restaurant. mormons aren't a factor in my life. your the self centered asshole who decided to spew your pathetic opinion at me. clearly you can't live up to what ever the mormons expect their followers to do, so you act like a biased asshole and a bigot. you seem to be a disgruntled ex-mormon. that's your problem, i'm done wasting my time with a pathetic douche bag like you.

  • If that was true then why did you base disscussion with me lol about your opinion only your opinion and lets not forget you also believe obama is not a good president and you rather have mitt romney as your president well boo hoo mitt romney just couldnt cut the cake sorry to dissapoint you lol.

  • yOUR RACIST enough said about you i can tell your racist from your racist mouth talking about bashing fags when your the fag. So if i didnt claim you as a mormon i would be wrong now we have to go into are you claiming the kkk please let us know thanks. Cause i really dont give a damn what you calim you act like a girl you stupid ass lol.

  • You should know the facts mdjbm im not one to fool with i put you in the corner and put a hat on your head and let everyone know where you stand you little tulip lol.

  • and you wonder why you get response please tell me your buisness and i be sure to send some gay mormons over to your buisness mdjbm. Have fun trying to kick there ass you well be owned lol.

  • Good info.

  • I love the convienantly place sign that say "In Rear" hahaha

  • There were even gays/lesbians that voted yes on 8. The problem stems from NOT following the Constitution. The government got involved with marriage(100 years ago) before that it was a private religious affair. Take government out of the private affairs then it people can do what they want. Both sides were forced to this point by a decision of the government made... Why should anyone have to register their marriage with the government? Think about it...

  • sorry, ScuseMeJudge, but you're wrong. Protesting is not bigotry. It's an expression of free speech and protected under the constitution. Taking away basic civil rights, such as marriage, just because you don't like someone's innate same-sex romantic orientation, IS bigotry.

  • stupid gays and lebians. Your acts that define you as gay is disgusting in every way.

    Just sick.

  • "intolerance towards those who hold different opinions from oneself."

    - No it doesn't. I'm sure dictionaries aren't that hard to come by, even in the mid-west.

  • any voter has a right to speak with his or her dollars toward not supporting or supporting a business for ANY reason

the question to ask for those seeking protectionism from having their name revealed as a donor: "What is it that you're hiding that you don't want revealed about your position?"

We already have laws about violence in our cities, so attempting to subvert the answer with regard to "safety" is negated

  • I think what people want protected is their right to not be harrassed by jackasses who are so full of hate and vitriol (though they actually claim it is those they protest that have those characteristics) just because they happen to take a position on an important social and political issue in their community. Progressives are all about diverse opinions unless those opinions diverge from their own.

  • jajajaja, puta los hueones ridiculos, ajajaja

  • "Take rights away" "We want our right" Come on people you have the same rights as everyone else. I sick of hearing about the fake rights being taken or stolen. We all have the same rights any man can marry any woman and any woman can marry any man.

  • Not everyone has the right to marry someone of the sex to which they are attracted.

  • Your right, no one does. that's the point one man one woman. If we were allowed to marry due to attraction then imagine where and how screwed up things would be.

  • "no one does"?

I think both homosexuals and heterosexuals would argue that that isn't true. If it were, then that would make everyone gay. It would also mean that nobody ever thought that their spouses were hot, and nobody really wanted to have sex with their husbands/wives.

Some people already are allowed to marry based on attraction. It's part of what makes your love for your gf/bf different from your love for your mom and dad.

  • So your saying the basis for marriage is based off of sexual attraction?

  • I would say that romantic love is largely based on sexual attraction, and marriages ideally revolve around romantic love.

  • So by that logic all those with romantic love "sexual attraction" should be allowed to marry? Hello, What if your wife was attracted to the football team, or your husband like the cheerleader squad? Again basing marriage off of sexual attraction and or love is simply a weak arguement. When you build your life around your sexual desires something is seriously out of wack with you. That's the simple truth.

  • If a woman is attracted to the football team, that doesn't mean that she has fallen in love with them, nor they with her. Sexual attraction is a component of romantic love, not a synonym for it.

  • Excatly, Attraction doesn't mean you have to act on it nor does it make it right. However your attempting to say because your sexual attraction or love for someone makes it ok. Again living your life around your sexual behavior is a serious sign that something is wrong.

  • It's not "sexual attraction or love" because they aren't interchangeable terms. A life that revolves around sex may not be healthy or fulfilling, but I'm not talking exclusively about sex. I'm referring to love.

  • What will kids do in a gay marrige without mom or dad? Oh well, kids don't need rights anyway. Vote no on prop 8.

  • Let us assume a mother and father is the best form of parenting; I have no objection because it was how I was raised. Can we not agree that two parents are better than a single parent or no parents? Orphans that are denied to two Gay parents do not automatically get a Christian man and wife--they actually get nothing and you apparently don't care.

  • What people fail to recognize is that there are fundamental gender roles that children need to see in order to be properly oriented. When Heather has too mommies, she is not getting the male gender role, regardless of how butch one of her mommies may be.

  • That right, because children's rights come first, there should be no gay marrige with children. Ther is just no way!

  • Actually, candy, there should be no marriage at all with children. They are too young to be married.

  • I have already agreed that the regular male father and female mother--that is, the actual parents--is preferable. I still suggest two same sex parents is preferable to one single parent or no parents at all.

  • And just how many orphans do you believe are out there with no prospect of heterosexual adoption?

  • Even one would deserve a family.

  • Non responsive

  • How so?

  • Prospect of heterosexual adoption?

I'd rather they had the guarantee of homosexual adoption. Kids don't need maybe-someday-parents, they need love and stability.

  • And homosexual relationships are as stable than heterosexual relationships?

  • It seems like you're asking that as if everybody knows that all homosexuals are promiscuous deviants with HIV and orgy nights. A homosexual relationship is not inherently short-lived or unstable. In fact, lesbians have fewer outside partners than couples who are married, unmarried, gay, or living together.

  • As a former police officer who worked with lots of lesbians, I can attest that your comment about those women is categorically incorrect. I have no beef with homosexuals living their lives as they see fit. My beef is with them wanting to force me and the government to acknowledge that lifestyle as typical, normal, and worthy of marriage. For crying out loud, there is no science to back up the claims of "born that way" so just get off of it. I had the chance to read hundreds of claims made

  • by adult men who had been sexually assaulted by Catholic priests. EVERY SINGLE ONE OF THEM stated that from that point forward they questioned their sexuality and those who stated that they were gay, to a man, PLACED THE CAUSE OF THEIR SEXUAL ORIENTATION ON THE ABUSE. Tell me all those men, gay and straight, who struggled with their sexual identity were "born that way" and were not "made that way" by gay pedophiles. Better yet, tell them!!

  • I've known many of my gay friends since childhood. I was there when they hit puberty, noticing with them that they were different. We talked about their feelings and their attractions in middle school and high school, and I listened to the things that other kids had to say about them in our conservative area. Some of them were the most loyal, caring friends I ever had.

Tell me that they were made that way by the gays in their lives, even when they had none. Better yet, tell them.

  • And you discussed with them if their daddy, uncle, or parish priest had ever gotten to them? That was also part of your conversation? My experience with sexual abuse victims is that they DON'T talk about it for various reasons so I doubt you would know if all your gay friends just "had those feelings" or not.

  • I trust my friends, and I hope that they trust me, especially when it comes to such difficult experiences. Of course some of the people I know were sexually abused, but those few are straight. Even if they were somehow made gay by abuse, then I still wouldn't want to deny them the right to marry since it wasn't their choice or their fault.

You seem to write with great authority on the matter. What is your experience with sexual abuse victims and, more importantly, homosexuals?

  • (a) I am married to the victim of sexual assault and I know of her struggles with sexuality and the the issues of human intimacy it created.

    (b) I am a lawyer that had to deal with HUNDREDS of sexual assault claims made against certain clergy and got to read the claims statements made by their victims telling, categorically I might add, of their struggles with sexual orientation after being homosexually abused.

    (c) a close lesbian friend has told me that ALL of her lesbian friends were victims

  • I to know of multiple cases of people who "went gay" as the result of sexual abuse.

  • If you have no beef with them living their lives as they see fit, then you should have no problem with gay marriage. Though the gay "lifestyle" is not typical, what makes it unworthy of marriage?

  • Science:

-More older brothers, more likely a son will be gay.

-Homosexual men & heterosexual women have symmetrical brains, better language abilities

lesbians and hetero men have asymmetrical brains, better spacial awareness

-American Psychiatric Association: "Sexual abuse does not appear to be more prevalent in children who grow up to identify as gay, lesbian, or bisexual, than in children who identify as heterosexual."

-One identical twin is gay, 52% chance the other is gay

    -Finger length

  • Don't forget scientists in the USSR once proved people who didn't agree with Communism had a brain disorder.

  • And you're claiming that people who don't agree with the Christian view of homosexuality have a brain disorder. What a remarkable coincidence. Of course, the original Christians lived in communist communities so perhaps today's Christians are just getting back to their roots.

  • "And you're claiming that people who don't agree with the Christian view of homosexuality have a brain disorder."

    Wrong.

  • I sincerely apologize! I assumed you were a Christian. I did not mean to insult you in any way.

  • yeah wellI I'm weird but it would be silly to claim everyone who disagrees with me has a brain disorder.

  • You rock! I agree completely with you. Those opposed to gays like to cherry pick evidence, controversial at best, and hold it up as a template on all gays. And they use it to excuse their bigotry, fear, and ignorance. In reality, sexuality can't be compartmentalized, it is fluid and cyclical. Pansexuality is the natural state of things. Homosexuality is a valid, natural form of social interaction. Science has proven that with animals. Mjhanagan needs to do research to find the truth.

  • Animals are pansexual like prison inmates are pan sexual. Watch male dogs mount each other in an effort to dominate other males. Watch an overpopulation of rats begin to act "homosexually" in order to dominate others and obtain access to resources. Homosexuality means self-selection OUT of the gene pool and is therefore biologically disfavored for any species. It therefore cannot be biologically appropriate or perferable for humans.

  • there are always exception that prove the rules.

  • That is a bunch of bullshit! All animal sex, even homosexual in nature, doesn't have to deal with dominance. There wouldn't be life bound pairs of the same sex, there would be no partner bonds if it was like that. And if it was biologically disfavored then it would have been breed out. Homosexuality has existed since the beginning of sexuality in nature. It has always been and always will be, get over and get that religious warping out of your psyche.

  • I never said ALL animal sex dealt with dominance, I said animal "homosexuality" is about dominance in the same way prison homosexuality is about dominance (and also getting a nut wherever you can get it). It does not involve notions of romantic love. If homosexuality is not biologically disfavored, then why can't men procreate with other men and women do likewise? If you are a "gay animal" then your genes are not gonna get passed along PERIOD!! Get it? Thus, it is no good for them or humans

  • since when does being able to procreate have anything to do with favorability? It totally involves romance and love! Thats like say animals can't feel, and gays don't fall in love! What horse shit! There have been a bunch of documented cases of same sex life bonding in animals, they even mourn and sometimes get sick and die after the loss of a mate. Now of course this is not always the case, and of course the seeking of pleasure is always there, but its social bonding, its building intimate ties
