French cars used to be death traps. The Peugeot 504 was a nice car, but it was horribly unsafe in crash tests. Applause to France for making their cars so much safer!

The food is only a metaphor to "tell" the customers that French cars are the best when the subject is safety. It were shown four kinds of food and each one represents the main car industry of their respective countries (Germany, Japan, USA(?), and France).
