The past tempts us, the present confuses us, and the future frightens us. And our lives slip away, moment by moment, lost in the vast terrible in-between.
@singletona082 Actually, the Vorlon question is "Who Are You?" This is, at least as far as B5 is concerned, the far more important and deeper question asked by the guy on the Shadow world, whose name I can't remember and can't be bothered to look up.
@MISANTHROPE00 No, you didn't miss anything. They just were very sloppy when they conceived Turhan. The director had some sort of special relationship with the actor (whose real first name was also Turhan), and it seems that out of respect for him, he chose to not put a wig on him.
But it has always irked me to see a Cenauri Emperor - who is supposed to be the embodiment of Centauri culture - to run around bald and wearing trousers instead of breeces and boots, like a real Centauri aristocrat.
@MISANTHROPE00 Imagine the Queen of the UK running around with a mohawk hairdo and leather pants. O_o
I understand that they wanted to depict Turhan as being humble, but if he truly were humble, he wouldn't make himself stand out by styling himself in a manner that seems outlandish in his own environment. He would just opt for less extravagant versions of Centauri fashion. Less bling would have done the job much better than that Earthling long trousers and Earthling hairdo.
@MISANTHROPE00 Well, the Centauri DO seem fairly similar physically to Humans so we should expect them to suffer from many of the same ailments and conditions that we have. It IS odd though as Emperor Turhan looks like a human without the funny looking hair.
This scene is similar to a scene in the beginning of the fourth season with Lorien and Sheridan. The questions the emperor asks are a lot like Lorien's questions.
What if the inbetween is not so terrible

Until Vir Cotto, this was the last great Emperor of the Centauri republic.

Several comments focus on hair and clothing, and missing the point of the whole scene.

I find it funny that the Emperor asks the Vorlon question.

@singletona082 Well, when you think hard enough about things, you seem to arrive at Vorlon questions.

I always loved how the show told you these elemental truths you always somehow knew but could not put in to words yourself.
Bye the way it is one of the few shows were the German translation was done well.

@seriousdudeserious
Are you serious? There are so many wrong translations and Mollari without his accent, Lyta with a complete diffrent voice and so on.
It´s okay if you don´t know the OV ;)
