  • My favorite movie, Sylvester <3

  • and that my friends is how you make a trailer:) sheer brilliance!

  • that was one awsome movie .that was so xool.

  • This movie was awesome. You felt the dizzying heights in the theaters. Great year for Stallone too business wise because later that year, Demolition Man came out. Which was awesome too.

  • Now THIS is a trailer!

  • 3 people are assholes for dislikeing this cool trailer of a cool action movie

  • YAY! Sylvester Stallone ROCKS!

    ( Like this comment )

  • Do a google on Yosemite 1977 Yosemite Plane Crash to find the real story behind the movie

  • I remember the first time I saw this trailer. It was at the start of the VHS of Candyman.

  • "FUCKING 'A' I LOST IT QUALEN! PURE, FUCKING SECTION EIGHT!!

  • Stop transmitting you stupid bastard!

  • That is one baad trailer..

  • NOBODY from the marketing department would dare to make a trailer like that nowadays. They need to explain everything, sometimes spoil everything, to add a crappy voice-over... There are sometimes efficient trailers like the Star Trek reboot or 2012 (both better than the movies...), but not as unique as that. The only two good trailers I've seen in a year are the Malick and TSN. It's sad. Long live Cliffhanger ! :)

  • One of the best trailers ever made to one of the best movies ever made. Fantastic (and extremely unusual) music for a movie trailer.

  • renny harlin made cliffhanger? wtf he makes only crap nowadays?

  • This was the first R-rated movie I ever watched. Great stuff, ya know?

  • We always forget about stuntmen, and how important they are for a good action movie. As others have said, these day more than half of the movie would be people jumping over a blue screen.

  • Great Summer of movies. Cliffhanger,Jurassic Park,The Firm and The Fugitive those were the days of Summer Blockbusters.

  • i love sylvester stallone- cliffhanger- gijoe989

  • awesome trailer!!!

  • "Is this your idea of a fool proof plan, you stupid bastard?"

  • What is the name of this song?

  • ghost is not in "Cliffhanger" because he is in "Clffhanger"

  • U like Soccer?

  • The music is a re-orchestrated version of the Dies Irae from the Requiem Mass in D minor by Mozart, VERY re-orchestrated. Don't expect any cymbals or bass drums. The very end, though, is the coda to "O Fortuna," from Carmina Burana by Carl Orff (a work which couldn't be more different from the Requiem, but it completely works in this trailer), which also sounds a bit re-orchestrated and different. They tailored the music to fit this preview specifically.

  • Who ever made this trailer knows how to ruin a good movie. I wouldnt of included any scenes with the helicopter OVER the edge and him fighting the bad guy. Also I would of left any scenes with money out. That was you really dont know the motive for all this craziness and third, they should of save the clip of the woman falling AT THE END. That was you really dont know who it is but you know theres crazy stuff going on up there.

  • @Foo3112

Obviously your not from the era..... The Die Hard trailer is almost exactly the same... and it's fucking awesome they use to do that....

Showed all the best action bits of the film....

compair that to the latest Batman teaser trailer where they showed jackshit nothing.

  • @colliric Your were 9 when this came out. I was 13. I think that makes me more from this era than you. I also have over 800 movies. I would assume (since we like to assume) that having that many makes me qualified to say such a statement and if you don't agree, then i don't really care. Learn to respect peoples opinions. I think Die Hard was an excellent movie. Doesn't mean I have to love the trailer too - which I'm only mentioning Die Hard because you felt it needed comparison.

  • wow, Stallone jumps so far that sportsmen gotta envy

  • You cant beat a good sylvester stallon movie. One of the best action stars of all time!!

  • muckin fagic :)

  • anyone know the name of the song?

  • @DariushUFC1985 Carmina Burana" - Carl Orff

    "Requiem" - W.A. Mozart

  • this trailer is in my top 10 favorite trailers, larger than life and very theatrical, i thought it was also Director-Renny Harlins better work. but i must be a trench coat and say that the audio is out of sync! @ 1min 22sec when you hear a double thump and symbol crash that is ment to be in time with Gabe (stallone) hitting the suit case with both hands twice ( 1min 27sec)

  • The most over the top trailer ever made!

  • The Climbing scenes except for when Stallone's stunt double Wolfgang Gullich is on screen are pretty lame but I still love the hell out of the movie. Who but Stallone could ride an enemy down the side of an icy slope like a surf board, jump off and self arrest with his ice tool as his enemy sails over the edge of the cliff screaming like a baby? And impaling that other mercenary with a power lift into that Stalactite was pretty cool too.

  • Renny Harlin is one of the best action movie director ever... A sense of thrilling absolutely fantastic. Die Hard 2 and Long kiss goodnight are also masterpiece... I've seen it many times but the opening sequence of Cliffhanger is each time totally thrilling: you know what is gonna happen, but you still catch in the suspense !

  • on 1:46 you can see the cable hanging haha

  • @prvgrindcore.... moron...thats supposed to be there!!!! watch the film ffs

  • @bigmacklad I´m not talking about the rope, I´m talking about some cable hanging on his backpack.. see it?

  • One of the better action movie trailers and one of Stallone's best movies.

  • stallone is so hench in this movie

  • JCVIDEO...

MUITO BOM. GANHOU VARIOS PRÊMIOS TAMBEM E FICOU ENTRE OS MELHORES FILMES DAQUELE ANO! SE NÃO VIU VEJA É RECONMENDÁVEL E SE JÁ ASSISTIU ...BEM, VEJA ´NOVAMENTE . É MUITO MASSA!

  • what is the name of this song?

  • This movie still ROCKS!! nowadays they'd do everything with a blue screen and computers.

  • @Mattman003 damn true

  • @Mattman003 ahah you really think this wasn't mostly special effects? they had green screens in the 90s, you know.....

    kids these days....

  • @backwardsmarathon1 It's a fact that this was filmed mostly on location. Yes there were plenty of special effects shots, and green screen shots particularly whenever Sly was climbing a mountain face cuz he's terrified of heights. If you want to learn more about how the movie was made feel free to watch the special features disc.

  • Janine Turner was SO HOT in this film !!!!!

  • @trwent I agree with you... a lot. :) The short haircut suits her very well, just like Demi Moore in Ghost (I think there is a connection, since there is only two years between the movies, and short-haired action heroins are in Hollywood). It's a shame she didn't do anything after that, I was 12 when the movie was released, and had a major crush on her...

  • One of my favourite action movies and one of the best of 1993. 9/10

  • ghost ........

  • ? der typ macht mich fertig.
