  • Nice to hear true folk music, unlike horrible "folk" songs and dances performed by Han Chinese usually found in youtube.

  • their language is very close to dai and Lao , thai.. according to a book of chinese language, zhuang and dai people had lived together with thai and lao in thousand years ago before Lao and thai moved to the southern china and it called Laos and thailand now.

  • zhuang speak related tai-kadai language, but they can speak tai ?

  • Their language sounds quite different from Thai to me, at least the one in Thailand and Laos. The tones in thai/lao language are more even, whereas the tones in Zhuang language are more high-pitched. It isn't just the tones, there are also other factors but I can't describe them in words. To my knowledge, zhuang can't understand thai/lao and vice versa.

  • True....their accent from this video in the beginning where these girls talk, they sounds closer to Tai dam accent except I could understand some of Tai dam words but Zhuang I cannot understand it.

  • I visited Guilin in Guangxi over a week ago. Our tour guide was a Zhuang. She sang...but in Mandarin. Actually, Zhuang are linguistically in the Tai-Kadai language family. Hmong and Yao are in their own language family.

  • wow, i love mountain songs especially miao(hmong) mountain songs.. mountain songs are deep and have lots of meaning to it. beautiful zhuang culture.
