Thanks for posting this! Those were my legs! What a great time, being a "stuntman" if only for a day! Chuck Waters drove the car and, since I was Judd Nelson's stand-in, I got to do the stunt!
It doesn't only cut into the main thrust of the movie (i.e. Phillip as weenie.), it shows he's the only one who's not a pussy. Was this filmed on the crew's "opposite day?"
I can hear that--except in my experience those folks are those are those who talk tough in safety but cower from confrontation. That's exactly the opposite of what Phillip's doing. And more exactly what Costner's character is doing.
Thank you so much for posting these! I was too young to have seen them on tv, but I grew up on this movie and my mom always tells me about these great scenes that she has never been able to find anywhere else. So I have finally seen them! Love this movie, everyone should see it.
I was a fan of this movie in college in the 80's, and remember loving it so much that even though I owned a VHS copy, I still sat down to watch the broadcast on TV. The VHS does not have this footage, obviously, so I thought myself fortunate to be so obsessed.
My fraternity one night watched "The Graduate" and Fandango back to back. Almost needless to say, a post-midnight roadtrip ensued.
I'd heard about the "biker scene" and the other deleted scenes but never thought I'd get to see them. Thanks! Why were these scenes deleted, especially this one? Why weren't they on the DVD, if only as bonus material?
I taped off of HBO, or one of the other movie channels years ago with my VHS, the tape went bad and I bought a DVD which was the newer version. My movie had the biker scene and the rope swing scene in it.
do a search on ebay for "UNE BRINGUE D'ENFER". it is the French dvd of Fandango. it is region 2 and has audio in English so you can watch it like normal. should be what you need.
thanks for that one ,will do that this is one of my favourite films ever and when i mention it to people no one seems to of seen it they dont know what there missing
I can't believe the studio didn't include the deleted scenes in the DVD - which I bought the day it was released. Amazed at how little respect this movie gets.

Glad to see this absurd scene didn't make the DVD. The other two deleted scenes would have worked well though.

I have been a fan of this movie since it came out. These scenes are very unlike the characters in the movie but still funny. Thanks

To me it shows he is a weenie who just always tried to act tougher than he really was.

This scene only slightly moves the story along, so I can see why they cut it. It comes into the 'Phil is an ROTC weenie' storyline.

Go to howboutafandango dot com. A whole website dedicated to Fandango. It is ran by Chuck Bush, the actor who played Dorman.
