  • you are speeding up then slowing down thats not how the song goes

  • To be blunt: you rock!

  • @juspasenthru Aww shucks, you're making me blush! :) Thank you!!!

  • What type of cello do you have and where did you purchase it from?

  • Very Good!! I see a lot of talent in you and I look forward to more from you! Bless you in your music.

  • Tried this song, could only get through the beginning.. :( I'm 12, probably why.. Thanks for uploading this, this is my most favorite song on the Cello. :]

  • @LamborghiniBMWftw Don't give up!!! And you have good taste. :)

  • im 13 and currently trying to learn to play this.

  • @sdhq00 Hope you're enjoying it!

  • one piece of advice for this piece is maybe to either just use a regular downbow-upbow motion at the very tip to keep the speed- i see you're kind of straining yourself to make the bow go one direction through the whole measure (or half measure i guess it is). it makes the piece go much smoother. still awesome job!!!!!

  • @say3you3wont Great advice, thank you! I've since learned my lesson. Too bad you didn't say anything before the competition! :)

  • Wow

  • mee tooo im 13 too

  • Just don't quit, ok? :D Keep at it.

  • im thirteen i cant play this this well

  • Keep it up! if I can do it, I'm sure you can. :D

  • This sounds wonderful, but the tinty sound of the cello bothers me....if you excell at cello and want to keep playing, go find a nicer cello to really make some gorgeous music!

  • = ) It bothers me too. i promise you I'll take your advice, someday. Thank you so much!!!

  • i started learning the cello because of this song but i m much better on guitar lol but good job :)

  • = ). it sounds really nice on guitar, doesn't it? and yay bach for getting you into cello! = )

  • i'm 13 and i've been playing for 4 years and i'm nowhere near this good. i've only been taking lessons for less than a year and i learn really fast but you arre so much better than me keep it up!!

  • = ). Thank you so much!!!

  • I play it totally difirent on 2:00 y play that part on "Re" on 4 position

  • i've tried some different ways to play it differently. this isn't my favorite, but its close.

  • I am also 12 years old and I do play the cello as well but I play Prelude differently. You are MUCH better than me!

  • = ). Well, thank you! I hope you enjoy playing this song as much as I did.

  • keep it up!

  • Thank you!

  • Holy Crap. You really good for 12 years old. Is that right? Well I think its amazing you can play this song. Not saying anything bad but keep on practicing and you can play really fast and it will sound much much better. But this is amazing. Keep up the good work.

  • = ). Thanks!!!

And, good guess, I am twelve! = )

  • i forgot to say this before can you send me the music for this?

  • ok so you are 12 and playing for 3 years like me but im a level 3 nyssma and you are to good for nyssma lol

  • = ). thanx.

  • I think you've mastered Bach:)

  • Thank you so much!!!!

  • You are doing really well, I am just beginning Cello. How long have you been playing?

  • Thanks! I've been playing for three years this March. I hope you enjoy playing the cello!

  • You're very good! =) I wish I could play the cello like that. Haha.

  • Thanks!

  • what the point of linking 8 sixteeth like that ? and even though we have metal strings, (of course a baroque cello would be better) we nearly can play this whole prelude in the 1st position, no need this complicated bowing, nor this complicated fingering. moreover, in the 2 manuscript (anna magedelanna and the other one) only 3 first notes of a chord are linked, so I really don't understand that way to link the first 8 Sixteenth notes.

but certainly your teacher told you so, so ask him :)

  • Wow that's really great! How old are you?

  • Thank You! I'm 12.

  • beautiful steph! i luv this song

  • Thanks Michelle!

  • I see you enjoy the cello! I just wanted to point out a couple of things. Practice with a metronome, cellists tend to speed up and slow down while playing Bach, but we need to be careful and keep a steady beat while playing the brilliance of Bach. And I noticed you lean forward on you're cello in parts of the piece you have trouble with. Lean slightly backwards instead. When you lean forward the cello controls you rather than you control the cello. But good performance!

  • Thank you so much!

Re-watching my video now, I realized the awkward speeding up and slowing down. Thanks for pointing it out! I'll have to work on the leaning thing too.= ) Thanks again!

  • I love how you're so relaxed! And you watch you're bow arm the whole time! Great!

  • sorry about the before comment lol. that was my little brother pretending that was me.. anyways i liked it!! but you just need to put a little more vibrato that's all and the way end you did great vibrato!!!!

  • = ) THats fine, I have a little brother to, so i know what its like. ) Thanks so much!

  • Nice but sometimes you rush! lock out ;)

Not bad ! your so musical!
