  • 0:53 Its an elf!

  • I'm a native Texan and I love the state but god damn do I hate the slogan "Don't mess with Texas".

  • i have this for my band homework and my friend jenny went there and got my a 3d keychain!

  • @TexasPhyl1 You're obviously not from the South either, because in the South, where you're born (or more specifically, where you came home from the hospital to) is where you're from. Unless you were like 2

or 3 or less when you moved there. (For instance, my grandfather was born in Wisconsin, but moved to Southeastern VA when he was 6 months old, and he's as Southern as Nathan Bedford Forrest.)

  • Long live the great state of Texas!

  • I love this song.. well uploade and many nice picts to

    greetings from Denmark - Scandinavia

  • I am one of those Texans who proudly says I may not have been born in Texas, but got here as quickly as I could. I AM VERY PROUD TO BE A TEXAN. There is no other state that has such a change of scenery.

  • Stealing the national flag from Chile... That's a new low.

  • Jealousy burns you other 49 States and the rest of the World.

  • I was born in San Antonio "BEXAR" but my mother married a "GD" yankee, so through no fault of my own I grew up, live & work in california, BUT my family roots/history are TEXAS, hell my family on my mothers side is TEXAS, going all the way back when texans were known as TEXICANS! I will be buried in TEXAS.

  • VIVA TEXAS

  • I love this

  • Texas girl here and PROUD of it All Smiles

  • never met a texan i didnt like, Thank you texas for holding on to all your traditions where men are still men! texas you have alot to be proud about!

  • Texas all day.

  • Hello fellow Texans from France ! Playing this in a French university auditorium =)

  • I can't understand why so many people think Texas sucks. If you ask me (a native Texan), you should (a) not judge a place without having been there - as that's called prejudice - and (b) assuming you have realistic information from a reliable source about that place, only disagree with the particular people or ideas of that place that you do not like. Don't hate the place as a whole. Texas is by far the most naturally diverse and most beautiful state in the Union, and should be treated as such.

  • @Texijapi1010 Amen to that, Texan brother! I'm a Free Vietnamese refugee living in San Jose, CA & I have to say that you Texans are absolutely nice & beautiful people! Much more friendly & warm than these scums from CA any day of the year! I just love that Southern culture of yours :-)

  • I'm a Texan and PROUD! Thumbs up if you agree!

  • We done shown the world what the US is capable--long live American freedom and might

  • Proud to be a texan!

  • Excused my eglish, Spain is no good for this matter you know. Every time I hear this song my eyes flow an I don't know why... It's such as when I hear Billie Holiday to sing 'All of me' or Armstrong's whatever it was. Thanks. Ricardo

  • even in my Area of Northeast Texas, bordering Southwest Arkansas,we are seeing an influx of illegals, the illegals arent stupid, they understand but dont care that they wreck an area,as in my Eyes the Dallas Area is shot to shit,I do expect sooner rather than later possible race war type situations involving white and Mexicans, as the illegal attitude seems more in line with Middle eastern extremist views towards israel, that type of view, is what illegals have towards us whites in particular

  • We played this over the loud speakers every morning in Afganistan, it drove the Sand N#####s crazy. They would run out waving their guns in the air and we would shoot them.

  • @carlyle57 Sand Niggers? That a new bad word for Muslims or Arabs?

  • @ilovemuslimfood666

Um no.. its been around dumbass

  • I'm from Italy, i've been in Texas and i can say that Texas is the most beautiful place in the world.....Dallas Cowboys 4ever ;)

  • @pippo86jmh= Thanks dude. And let me say, Italy is the most beautiful Mediterranean country.

  • @vigo894 thanks, both are beautiful places :)

  • @vigo894 My great grandfather came to Texas in 1859 with his dad. My dad was born in Texas and while I don't live in Texas there is,somewhere deep a bit of Texas. Texas is Texas. It's not the land of milk and honey, its one of courage, honor, integrity, hard work, freedom, liberty and honesty. Texas is hot and dusty and as General Sherman said,,who burned down great grandma's Lydia's Kentucky home. "If I owned both hell and Texas, I'd rent out Texas and live in hell. Gotta be honest.

  • I like this song!

  • Go Rangers! Gonna kick the shit out of the yankees!

  • @pluto4325 you are probably the most fucked individual in the world. I'm from TEXAS and asian girls have nothing on TEXAS girls, as a matter of fact I spent 11 years inthe Navy and asian girls are nothing but simple whores and will always be. Stick with your own kind and show some respect for this UNITED STATES of AMERICA.

  • Sweet!

I found this song in the 1955 chart @ billboardvideos.(net)

  • Catchy tune.

  • @RoadCaptainEntertain Thanx for the info.

  • ahhh..... texas... there aint a prettier word than that.

what a beautiful land. i couldnt EVEN imagine livin somwhere else than TX. theres still ALOT of stuff in texas i havent seen yet.

  • RIP Mitch.

  • Attention all Patriots of Texas and the united states please join eRepublik

the game is a massive free online multiplaer game that lets you live your fantasys as i write this America is being invaded by Russia and we are loosing the war we need your help to defend our nation

we have lost most of the west coast and we will loose many more states if we dont get more players

we have lost many allies in our war and we will not recover if we do not have more support

  • Yes we all know about the African-American Prostitute that was the original song thats why they re-wrote the song because they dident want to offend people

  • All of these people talking about a half breed?? Who cares? In my mind the Yellow Rose of Texas looks like the doll at 2:27 and the millions of other gorgeous women here. Lets native Texans just keep quiet and keep the "secret" a secret.

  • God Bless Texas !

  • I always thought this song was about a soldier's love for Texas, that the yellow rose was Texas. It would have been a stronger song if it was. Still a good song though.

  • This song makes me glad my middle name is Rose!! hehe, lucky me!!... not that i'm the yellow rose of texas or anything.. :)

  • THE YELLOW ROSE OF TEXAS SHALL BURN BRIGHTLY IN THE EYES OF THE IRSH

  • another minstrel song with the words changed. i suppose now shes the sweetest little rosebud that texas ever new, instead of just the sweetest rose "this darky ever knew"

at least it doesnt change the meaning of the song. they completely changed the meaning of "my old kentucky home"

  • I should think not! I HAVE SPOKEN

  • no PC statement just thinking how distorted history becomes over the years, History is the fact that everyone agrees on, none of the men we all looked up to as heroes of our childhood were Saints, lets face it. many of us would love to have history as we would have it be, not like it really was, I HAVE SPOKEN

  • What i love about Texas!!!!!!!

  • mimnmi

  • Only been to Texas twice - San Antonio, Hill Country and Houston - but had a wonderful time on both visits. It's a big, beautiful, proud state and I thoroughly enjoyed my time there. Great people, fun stuff to do, nice things to see - all in all, I loved Texas!

  • then, it seems Texas her independence to an indentured servant lady of color. Texas owes her, bigtime. "I have spoken"

  • @TheAlliswell Texas owes its independence to BRAVE men that fought the battle, Carry your PC back up North where it belongs, "NEW YORK CITY" ;-0}

  • lets look at Texas History Gentleman, and who this song Y.R.O.T. was really written for and about. Her name was Emily Morgan, a slave girl owned by James Morgan and emily infiltrated Santa Ana;s camp just before Sam Houston's attack at San Jacinto and spiked Santa Ana's officers coffee with opium. she played up to him, and the Texans carried the day.

so when you hear this song, and think about Texas lets remember the slave girl who made it all happen. "I have spoken"

  • @TheAlliswell Emily Morgan was not a slave, she was an endentured servant by choice. There is a difference.

  • @TheAlliswell Please get your facts straight, IT is obvious you are trying to makea PC point!!

  • @TheAlliswell REALLY?

  • @TheAlliswell Thank you for that lesson,,,

I heard that this song is written by a dane who was figthing together with Davy Crockett against Santa Ana.- but I dontk now if its true ? a nice song anyway,

  • @TheAlliswell Is she ASIAN? lol

  • @TheAlliswell That is NOT the story I heard in elementary school! xD rofl

  • @TheAlliswell You mean this song is not about flowers? I am shocked. Shocked.

  • beautiful music.

  • About the language problem... without the spaniards coming here and teaching the american natives and first settlers how to write and read, probably this should be still a place for crows, snakes, and a country of illiterate and uneducated thieves. So, please, texans, approach your multicultural heritage and culture and be proud of your six flags: Remember the first one is the flag of Spain, and the second is the mexican one...

  • @jonpetry

We are well aware of the Hero of San Jacinto who was one Emily Morgan.

One man's prostitute is another man's hero.

Thank you for the nice comment

  • @RoadCaptainEntertain

Emily D West was by all accounts a decent person despite some quibbles as to exactly what her employment may have been. I have no issue about her at all. But it is pure conjecture as to whether she is the person referred to in the song. BTW thanks for your courteous rely.

  • @RoadCaptainEntertain This is an excellent song - whatever it's about!

  • @RoadCaptainEntertain Honestly, these idiots just like to think that Texans are idiots because it just allows them to sleep better at night. Right now Texas is probably the strongest economy in the entire nation, and as we speak Cali license plates are flooding my city. Too bad they brought their broken ideologies and holier-than-thou attitudes with them while looking for work in my state. Liberals.....

  • @jonpetry Welcome to Texan history dumbass.

  • @Kamakize789 Thanks for being a real sweetie, hijo de la chingada

  • @jonpetry God Bless her

  • @jonpetry That is true. Anyone who thinks this song is about a yellow flower is uninformed and naive. "Yellow" is a reference to the fact that she was mulatto. These whores were sometimes known as "high yaller" and were able to command a higher price in the brothels of the Wild West.

  • @jonpetry Being a slave and/or indentured servant, I don't think she had much choice in the matter, so I'd hardly call her a prostitute.

  • @jonpetry YOU CAN'T EVEN TYPE IN ENGLISH DOPEY. it's an african not a African

  • @jonpetry go home and eat your mother's shit, jerk

  • @jonpetry uh, __YEAH_ OK LOL,

  • Ass kicking version of our song. It's the one used in the movie "Giant" with Rock Hudson and Elizabeth Taylor

  • 1:10 rye-o grand? OUCH!

  • oops there me thinking u.s.a was an english speaking country

  • That is not true...It is not required to have ESL certification, but it does give teachers a leg up to know Spanish. I love Texas and while I have been to over half of our states...none can compare.

  • ive heard you cant get a school teaching job in texas unless you can speak spanish! If so thats crap hey you want to be american speak english! Time you texas folks step to the table! I love texas and all that go with it except the language bull!

  • @auntpittypattys In Texas, a person isn't required to be able to speak spanish to teach school. I have many friends that frequently speak spanish when I'm around but, since they have manners, they translate for me. Take out the rude behavior of those many others and there might not be the animosity.

  • thats total b.s. 5 out of my 7 teachers cannont speak spanish.

  • @craigisbond007 Five out of seven teachers more than likely teach their students and encourage the students in their classes to all adopt the language of the land. This strengthens the core of America. Read history.

  • total bull crap aunt. my wife is an 8th grade math teacher. I do agree English IS and should be the ONLY language allowed ANYWHERE in the U.S.

  • wellp, if ya feel so strongly bout that, then accept the fact that in the next 15-20 odd years or so when hispanics become the inevitable majority in this state, their children forced to learn in English immersion programs only, and be forced to learn english ASAP, I assure you we will live in a much more impoverished state.

What part of Texas are you from? My Guess, North of the Nueces River am I correct? As a border state, I say it's Texan's responsibility to embrace our Tejano heritage.

  • Dumbass comment Blade???

  • @CattleRanche No country with recorded history has survived when more than one language was employed and promoted. I agree with you totally.

  • @TheTexn I think Canada has survived quite well. Also Belgium. And Switzerland promotes THREE languages.

  • @CattleRanche In order to makle English the "only" language allowed anywhere in the US, You'd have to do away with a pesky little thing called the First Amendment. You remember that one, Freedom of Speech???

  • @xcellken1 Do you know how ridiculous your statement is? Are you truly that stupid? Surely not??

  • @CattleRanche If I'm stoopeed, its from all the head trauma I suffered at the hands of the nuns for seven fucking years! BTW, our 7th grade history books talked about President Eisenhower. That was 1973. So much for the quality education you get in Catholic school. We also had to share our science books with another class, so we couldn't take them home. ETC, But wait, so shortage of material for Catholic Indoctrination class!!! Don't forget the totally senile nun we had in 5th grade. Larnt nutin

  • @auntpittypattys you are so iliterate. You don´t even know how to write in English.

  • @auntpittypattys In Texas, as well as the US as a whole, proper English speaking people capitalize words such as "Spanish", 'American", "English:, and "Texas". Just thought you'd like to know.

  • TURISTIC MANUAL(III edition): If you are in US and wish to meet true american people go south !!

  • @nedeljko18 And if one wants to meet people who don't use words like "turistic", one should go north?

  • @Rompa87 Good old swine, have you ever heard for "errata",take some education and don't miss to go south!!

  • Is this one of those Confederacy songs??

  • FEYENOORD!

  • Texas and all south are the legend !!!

  • Is it Tex Ritter singing this song?

  • Ya'll knw where pic 2:11 was taken????

  • Kerrville, Texas

  • after yesterdays massacre fuck the muslims there religion has no mercy they will tell u diff but if there was a chance at fort hood ???? WHY

  • @TONYIRISHPROUD I'm sure you'll feel the same way about Christianity the next time a Timothy McViegh type commits an atrocity???

  • Long live the Republic of Texas!

    Down with the Union!

  • I live in Harlingen Texas next to south padre Island it's like 30 mins away

  • I live in georgetown, about 30 minutes north of Austin

  • WOOOO GO TEXAS

  • beautiful 1950s classic...i love this song!

  • i can't imagine living anywhere else on the planet than Texas. such a beautiful big historic and epic place. we've got it all. beautiful women, big cities, small towns, coasts, mountains, plains, woodlands, naval harbors, air bases, industry, farms, ranches, space stations....the very envy of not just the rest of america but the whole world. deep down everyone wishes they were Texans. toughest and kindest people on the planet. as close to heaven and earth can get....and home of the COWBOYS!!

  • I cannot agree with you anymore. I have come my country in Asia , I don't think I could have received a better and warmer welcome and a sense of belonging . Away from home I found my second home in Houston , TX . And indeed when time came to move I refused a much better paying job in CA just to take up a job here in TX. Hail TX an yeah now away from home I too am a Texan and I always say 'Don't mess with TX" :D

  • Well then...WELCOME!! like they always say you might not have been born in Texas, but you got here as fast as you could.

  • well, I don't know about the envy of the rest of America, but you go ahead and think that way.

  • ok if you say so.

  • I want to visit your great state. Will me being from New Jersey cause any problems if I visit?

  • absolutely not!! you will never feel so welcome anywhere you've ever been. don't come unless you want to move because you will love it here. ssshhhh.....just don't tell the anyone else....hahaha

  • @mohinderbauer I am from jersey also its a liberal state ,hope Chris Crissy CAN HELP!Don't y'all have a BIG mexican problem, i know we do. R and d both sides wont do any thing to help, they let them take our jobs disrespect our languige .

  • "disrespect our languige . "

    ...

  • @awhitecouple you don´t even know English... haha!!! you are a BIG problem for your country.

  • @awhitecouple If you want to be an American and take part in this wonderful success story of a people then do so. If you choose otherwise then leave and go to where you are better suited. Only stupidity would deter you and slow your departure.

  • @awhitecouple If you represent English speakers everywhere, then God help us. Your spelling is atrocious!!!

  • Ummm...the original owners Einstien was the Comachie, Huaco, Alabama-Coushatta, Karakawa and Cherokee tribes (among orthers). Spain later took the land by force who later gave it up to the Mexicans by force, who gave it up to the Texans by force.

Mexico only owned what is now Texas for a short time.

Perhaps a vocabulary above that of a 6th grader would help you better express your infinate knowledge of Texas history to us "Savages".

  • @RoadCaptainEntertain Where is England in that history? Why do you have that love for the English language? Remember that USA has not an official language like other countries have. People just use English nowadays, probably in fifty years spanish is going to be more spoken ... why not? what´s the big deal?

  • @paturcas In the 19th century, many ballots in Texas were bilingual. And the second language was GERMAN!!! (Lotsa German settlers in central Texas back in the day!!!)

  • @RoadCaptainEntertain Actually, The Alabama Coushatta relocated to Texas after Spain owned it. Same for the Cherokee. In fact, the Cherokee were invited by the Mexican government to serve as a buffer bwteen the US and Mexico. Just sayin'

  • Iam are you as big a fucktard as your comments make you appear to be?

  • Gee, I'd like to be Hippocrates...

  • Texas is the land of the bold, dont knock them because of their success and subsequent power. Most of that shit you brought up has to do with things more complex (and Federal) than Texas.

And I disagree that they should have given it back to Mexico. I think they should have pushed them back South and took the whole fucking thing, have you seen the mess THEY made of what they kept?

  • I dont think we could've pushed the mexican army back much more, though they would be leaderless they still had a pretty hefty army. Hell the only reason we won the Battle of San Jacinto was cause we attacked the Mexicans while they where napping.

  • savages, have you ever even been to Texas, also Texas is very important to the USA, Its the #1 producer of beef, it supplies quite a bit of oil, has one of the nations largest seaports (Houston)

  • @graidstin Never been there would love to some day, BORDERS,LAUNGE,CAULTURE! I think i read TX. has the biggest wind farms in the country,or even the world. GOD bless Texas and JOE HORN an AMERICIN HERO, Who protected his neighbors property from 3 illegal cubans , This man did what our BORDER PATROLE is not allowed to.

  • I hope you get to visit my fair state of texas I really enjoy it here wouldnt want to live anywhere else. Its a great, unique state with rich history. Though if youre more intrested in the culture aspect I would reccomend going to San Antonio, just hope you enjoy Texas as much as I do.

  • @awhitecouple Please learn to spell before you visit Texas.

  • @IamTheBeginning DEO VINDICE and SEMPER FI! GOD BLESS THE GREAT STATE OF TEXAS,

    signed,

    A Tennessean

  • @bigrobmjca Thanx

  • @CattleRanche i agree totally. Viva mi Texas brother and Hail to the Redskins !!

  • @alinsatx When the first white settelrs arrived in Texas, led by Steve Austin, there were only 2,000 Indians in Texas. Why so few? It seems the Spanish did a very thorough job of killing them off and.or selling them into slavery.

  • @xcellken1 you mist be from public school !! re read the history, the REAL ONE !! 2000 ? get real...by the time austin got here, the settlers were already here !! gees..spaniards ARE white !!!

  • @alinsatx You must be from Catholic School. How often did the nuns beat you? Actually, I should have said ANGLOS. Is that better? Most ANGLOS didn't consider Spaniards too white back then. The number 2000 came from a book written about the History of Fort Bend County, Texas. My client, Imperial Sugar, had it in their lobby. If you want to take issue wioth that number, take it up with them

  • @CattleRanche You can´t imagine living anywhere because you don´t know anything about the world and the quality of life of people. In my country nobody envy you guys. Believe me. I am living in Texas for a couple of years and it is interesting and amazing to discover the people and the country but.... it doesn´t mean that I would like to live here forever... not at all.

  • @CattleRanche You had me until the Dallas Cowboys comment.

The Cowgirlz will be playing the Texans soon. Then we;ll see who'll have bragging rights. Remember the Alamo, remember 19-10

  • @CattleRanche home of the TEXANS you mean! 2-0 baby!

  • @TexanGiant you were saying?

  • Home!

  • People of Texas, be proud of your cultural and ethnical diversity!

A lady from the Netherlands( where most of the people are not on drugs or in prostitution!!!!)

  • 1livingdeadgirl, why would you associate Texan pride with 'white pride'? What the hell does that have to do with anything? Are you aware of how culturally diverse Texan cities like the Metroplex are, or are you just being ignorant?

  • American by birth, Texan by the good grace of God!

    Puro Tejano God Bless Texas

  • This song warms my heart and soul. Every time.

  • texas is great

  • GOD BLESS TEXAS!

  • Native Houstonian <3

  • born and raised in the greatest place in the us

    god save texas

  • Born in San Antonio, about as Native Texan as you can get. Our family has been in Texas since the 1840s, and we don't plan to leave. God bless our beloved Texas!

  • Here Here! I am from Virgnia, a state I love dearly, but I know people from Texas and I want to visit on day. God Bless "you all."

  • @Verdunhunter Over the yeras, I've known three people whose ancestors were here since the Sapnish. One was given a land grant by the King of Spain. But in the eyes of rednecks, they're just Mexicans, no different than the illegal alien that arrived yesterday/
