it was a fun and simple time.

  • WOW - great sound quality - best ever rendition of this song! Thanks germanssgirl!

  • fuck everyone...this is it!!! this is the original...majestic, powerful, beautiful with a final gift when gayle shouts "baby it;s you".....glorious....

  • @aghnifrid absolutamente de acuerdo!!

  • Gayle McCormick from St. Louis. What a voice. I saw her play with the Klassmen at the 66 Drive-in theatre in about 67 or so. She made Smith.

  • this sounds exactly like the original vinyl version....the audio is incredible.....if it doesn't make your skin crawl, you have no soul.... one of my all time favorite songs....and YES< i do have the original vinyl to listen to.....

  • nice post, thanks!

  • great audio! Good upload, thank you!

  • Great song to go to Vietnam,it was # 1 when I was leaving,or so it seemed,I heard it all the time.

  • yeah, it sounds better, but then there's no Gayle to drool over...lol

  • Best version!

  • It does't matter what they say, I know I"m gonna love you any old way

  • Burt Bacharach was one of the writers of this classic. Hard to believe, huh?

  • Been looking a long time for this version, ironically never knew the bands name was simply " SMITH ".

Fabulous Version of The Shirelles standard.

They are both the BEST versions of the transitional 1960s.

Thanks for this particular '69 ' Blast from the past.

  • Classic song, wonderful band, great voice. Best version, too! I remember the song from when I was ten years old, always loved it.

  • GREAT rock-blues singing, tight band, exceptional drummer although not mixed in very well. Even the horns are great with that intentional discord in the middle. The studio mix is very unsophisticated but the sheer talent makes up. Sigh, this was a superior group that suffered from very poor manager and musical agent. They were far superior to groups of the time like Jefferson Airplane but got virtually no exposure.

  • wow - nice audio!!!!!!!!!!!
