  • 2 year old Msi Barebone Laptop with an 55Wh Battery, 2-2,5 hours with the powersave mode and 45 min while running Prime95

  • 2010 MacBook Pro

6.5 hours when Lion works correctly.

4 hours when Lion is being an ass hat.

  • @FrosChannel lol "ass hat"

Do you have the i5 or i7 Pro? I have the i7 and I get about 5.3 hours. Also what does lion do to your computer that makes it get shorter life? I'm just curious because I've never really noticed a difference in battery life from Snow Leopard. I guess if anything it's easy to forget you have running applications because of fullscreen mode so you could be using other resources without knowing.

  • @iDiggMGL Its a 13" inch, So I use the old 2.4ghz Core 2 Duo. When my battery life shows 4 hours on maximum charge I turn off the computer and reset the power management module by holding down Ctrl+Option+Shift and the power button for 10 seconds and turning it back on, and I suddenly get 6 hours of battery life.

  • @FrosChannel You can reset it by doing those steps? I thought the only was to reset it was by letting the battery fully drain and then fully charging it back up to 100%. Interesting.

  • @iDiggMGL Thats for recalibrating the battery, it makes the battery last longer in general.

  • @FrosChannel Oh, interesting, thanks.

  • Mine, Dell Studio XPS 16 with 9-cell 85Whr battery only gets about 2.5 - 3 hrs.
