1 hour doing nothing on my 7 years old 15" Aluminium PowerBook G4 and 30 mins playing Unreal Tournament '04 on it. Bah, the iPad 2 is faster than my own computer. 745-1000+ Geekbench scores compared to 543 on my PowerBook.
depends how i use it i get About 10 hours when at uni but 3-4 hours gaming from a 2009 mac pro 13 inch its pretty good but i dont use it all that often i tend to take my ipad to uni and game at home
I have a Dell Inspiron 1720 bought it before my Leaving Cert in 2008, and then it got about 3 hours and now I'm lucky to get 2hours out of it :/ bugger
5:20 on a full charge from my 2010 i7 MacBook Pro. The battery life is great, I just wish that I had one of the newer MacBook Pros. Hopefully I'll be able to upgrade when the supposed "MacBook Pro-Air" computers release.
Do you have the i5 or i7 Pro? I have the i7 and I get about 5.3 hours. Also what does lion do to your computer that makes it get shorter life? I'm just curious because I've never really noticed a difference in battery life from Snow Leopard. I guess if anything it's easy to forget you have running applications because of fullscreen mode so you could be using other resources without knowing.
@iDiggMGL Its a 13" inch, So I use the old 2.4ghz Core 2 Duo. When my battery life shows 4 hours on maximum charge I turn off the computer and reset the power management module by holding down Ctrl+Option+Shift and the power button for 10 seconds and turning it back on, and I suddenly get 6 hours of battery life.
@FrosChannel You can reset it by doing those steps? I thought the only was to reset it was by letting the battery fully drain and then fully charging it back up to 100%. Interesting.
Tis all about Good desktops computers (aka custom build or iMac) and having an ipad for taking around places. iPads are even said by people to get at least or over 10 hours, and possibly as much as 8 even when the battery starts to wear down :D
@ljscott1990 Just as apple said: wireless web browsing on a 2011 1.7 GHz i5 MacBook Air. with half screen brightness, bluetooth off and wifi on. of course, when it comes to COD4: MW it drops to a (still reasonable) 1:45-2:00 hours.
I get around 6-7 hours out of my MacBook Pro doing general stuff, goes down to about 5ish when I'm doing fairly heavy work in Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign.
I get about 4-5 hours on my MacBook Pro and sometimes even less than 4 hours, depending on what I'm doing. If you watch porn it's gonna give you less than 3 hours, lol.
my macbook air 2010 gets about 4 hours if im playing games like crysis 2 on windows 7 bootcamp or starcraft 2 in native i thinks its rather good but i guess SSD helps with the battery life a lot + i was surprised how well the MB air runs wile gaming the fans do kick up a bit but for the specs im getting good miles out of it lol
I actually got 6 hours out of my 5 hr 11" MacBook air but it was no video and no flash just text web pages and lowest brightness and no backlit keyboard
i have got 13 hours out of my macbook pro 15 inch latest model this was using iTunes and text docs no internet and bluetooth (i was on a long flight) great vid btw
Dave, i get about 8 and a half hours out of my 2011 13" MBP, using safari with clicktoflash, iTunes running in the background as well as running pages and word...
