There are a couple of important lessons here. Many Christians are afraid to talk about their faith. We dont want to look foolish or be unpopular. Were afraid of standing out and being different.

Jonas was not a Jew. He likely would have been Sumerian. It is a Sumerian story, written in Cuneiform, well before there were any Jews or a Hebrew language.

Check out the library of Ninevah. It was a much older story later adopted and adapted by the Jews. Like wise the story of Moses.

The Egyptian captivity never happened but the Babylonian captivity did. The Jews brought most of their bible and the founding ideas of Judaism from Babylon.
