To tell you the truth No matter what horror movie it is we will have already seen it there will be similer elements to all Horror thats just how it is. I for one think Last House on the left was one of the better remakes it played it safe by useing most of the original however I do like that it was more updated and used some risks and fresher ideas on killings.
I love the orignal but hated this remake but it seems theres been countless movies since the devils rejects that have taken the hotel slaughter scean road approach when making full lenghs vacnacy which is good but then theres the strangers captivity there remaking I spit on your grave and all the straight to dvd's that fail at this left house one the left and i spit on your grave the orignals not the remakes work because at the time people were so trusting it dont work cause people dont trust
i agree 100%...this movie is not anywhere near as horrifying as the wes craven original....a complete feeble attempt to capture the controversy and terror tthat wes put on screen in 72.
since this guy beats around the bush too much and much of which is said is completely irrelevant can anyone tell me if this movie is actually even worth seeing
do you ever just sit back and watch a freakin movie? Do you ever take a breath? Do you really believe what youre saying or do you just like to hear yourself talk? Do you need a crowbar to pull your head out of your butt? Love, JAMW (just a movie watcher)
Hey, TMPC! I had a heated conversation with another YouTuber about Wes Craven's involvment in this new "Last House" film. He claims that Wes was "Deeply Involved with the making of the film". But How much input did he have on this movie? So is this guy I was arguing with full of it, or what?
You know Hollywood movies are getting boring when you can break down the act structure, running-time, and character development in the preview. It's the 1980's all over again.
No, not all of them. I LOVE "The Ring" and like other ones like "The Departed" and "The Blob"...they CAN be good, but many times, they're not as good as the originals.
i really like your videos, but i think you should move into actually "reviewing" the movies, instead of just giving a speculation of how the movie will be, specially when most of your videos come out after the movie has already been released.
I think this movie looks crazy as hell. The music just fits, it sounds creepy and looks awesome. This vid was funny but I think the movie will be decent.
I'm starting to get a high respect for that era. At first I thought, "Those movies look old and cheesy" but now, it's like, "Wow, that was some interesting filmmaking."
the 70s had a lot of awesome midnight movie theaters saturated with weed and obscure and disturbingly awesome movies. i really wish i could have been alive back then, to see eraser head or el topo stoned in the theater... sigh
great review btw my little brother loves your work ( n_n)
This movie is utterly depressing. There is nothing...NOTHING redeemable about this film. This is a snuff film with less actual death. What ticks me off is the silly music, pretending it's a 'deep' and 'meaningful' story about loyalty or familial love or other things it's not, when really the grind house voice guy should be saying 'They came for shelter from the storm and end up going home in several snack bags!'
Thanks, i'm always worried I over do the notes sometimes. Nicely said about the redeeming value and of course on what H-wood should do if they can't make good movies.
I also want to add that I think the preview was very effective. I like remakes more than the average horror fan, so I'm not automatically biased.
I haven't seen the original because I always felt it may be a bit too much for me, but I might check it out because I like to see how remakes change from the original material.
While I generally don't like remakes, if they're done well, I'm really happy. Sometimes the previews don't reveal any warning signs or flaws, other times, they're too hard to ignore. But, good point of view...have to keep an open mind. Just cause it's a remake doesn't mean it's going to suck. The Departed remade Internal Affairs. I'm a big fan of "The Blob" from like 1988, that remade the 50's classic. Same thing goes for John Carpenters "The Thing" which remade the Howard Hawks classic.
Good point! It was more torture torture....more suspense and thrills that went on forever....in a good way. Or maybe, psychological torture porn. Those killers draggggged out the inevitable. Feeding off of the fear....but, you're right, it was like Saw or Hostel.
Darn you, MPC! I'm supposed to be doing a report on the history of animated films, but I saw that you updated and got tempted.
Like I said before, Nightmare on Elm Street (another Wes Craven classic) can have different, interesting elements added. Unfortunately, this one feels like one big mess of a film.
lol...I feel bad distracting you from school work!
I'm always worried about remakes. The only way to go with Freddy would be to make him scary instead of funny. But, they might just make Freddy a torture porn dude. Fingers crossed.
the remake sucks, the original kicks it's ass, the remake is horribly overatted

I actually thought the remake was better than the schizo original(of which I wasn't a fan).
The movie mental note bits were funny.
