  • Hi!

Ok!, and this song is the Lilongo! n_n

The Trío Calaveras (who sing this song) are a Mexican guitar and vocal trio, notable for their performances and recordings with pop singer Jorge Negrete. Their name means "Skulls Trio"; in Mexico "calavera" also means a cool casanova. The original members of the trio in the 1930s were Raúl Prado, Miguel Bermejo and Pepe Saldivar.

  • Yes, one of the best songs Mexico have... after Guadalajara, Ay Jalisco no te rajes and La Bamba.

  • YEA! Veracruz! going there for my bday! soo excited. I love this movie and this song/dance.. whats it called?!

  • I have always liked this song. It is a true folksong from Vera Cruz. It is called Lilongo and is probably one of the oldest mexican folksongs. It is quite possible the original words were not preserved since now we have many variations, luckily all pretty good.

La Bamba is a more recent variant. (Listen to Los Lobos)

A word for sweetangel890: the trumpet became very popular in Mexico in the mid 1800s under the French occupation. Look up 'mariachi'.

  • could u please help me find the song?

    thnk u so much x

  • VIVA MEXICO!!

Blessed

  • epic scene :o)

  • what's this song called?

  • La Bamba but it uses verses from Lilongo. The group is weird though it has a mariachi harp, a bass, and guitarists and i hear a requinto but didnt see one.

  • @Myke209, I found an old old version of Lilongo and it is the same melody as in TTC film, but it is almost the same as the melody for La Bamba. I think the songs are likely just cousins of each other. Cannot find a single version of 'Lilongo' anywhere though, except one old 1945 version...I also hear the requinto. Probably the filmmakers only used the instruments on screen that they felt they needed to.

Viva mi México lindo y florido, grazie bela itlaiana...

  • i love this song so much xD. Music from beracruz . i remember when i went there

  • Donald Lol!!!

  • Note: when Donald starts to dance, that's american influence (the trumpet), not mexican music, just at the end they continue with the jarocho music, just for you to know =D love this!!

  • jajaja ey Donald!! Pareces pachuco! jaja =D

  • i love their dresses!!! and the dance..=)
