I have to say the Mazda 6 flat out looks better inside and out, the Mondeo interior just looks really old. I can confirm the Mazda 6 handles a little better, bit quicker and less body roll. I brought a used 2004 Mazda 6 with sportskit. The Mondeo's are a nice car and a little cheaper, but the Mazda pips it. The 2008+ Mondeo looks awesome however Ford did a nice job.

in canada we have mazdaspeed6 which produces 274 bhp and 280 ft/lb from the same engine. this mps made 256 bhp, thats low. but a good comparison considering it stayed only 1 ~ 2car lenghts behind opel.

It;s normaly that Vectra to be fastest by all those 3 cars, he have ~285hp, 3 or 3.2 turbo.Ford had only 225hp non turbo, it's a non-sense versus in terms of performance.Vectra OPC would be more fair to be compare with the next Focus ST260, and i am sure that the next RS Focus would be much faster.But ok, no hot-hatch, but that ST260 engine puted by a future model of mondeo could make the fight somehow more equilibrate.
I drive a Vectra B (the old style one)and I love it. I'd prefer the Vec out of them three tho. I don't perticularly like the Mazdam, the ST220 is nice, but its a Ford.

None of them, the 3mps is the same Mazda6 MPS engine in a 3 Body without 4 Wheel Haldex drive. It's all over the place Rubbish.
The 6 is fantastic (the red one btw)

Moded? they are talking stock.
You can buy a bolt on, no other changes garrett turbo charger for the 6MPS from the US for £1000 that takes the 6 Output to 520BHP like to see that at Santa Pod

yeah,I think your missing my point,topgear1507 was basically saying that the mondy was slow and I was saying it wasnt and his quoted 0-60mph was wrong,the mps is ugly,but a fine car,Ive driven 2.

OK, Vectra's faster because it's lighter, but far away the best car of this lot is the Ford Mondeo ST220, no discussion.

Vectra is only fast in a straight line, you can make a lot of things do that. The Mondeo is easily the best car for the chassis, but the Mazda is good as well with a 2.3 turbo on 4x4, can throw that around some. Vauxhall put no effort into chassis or drivetrain development at all. Look at the Astra VXR or the Vectra VXR. They can't go round corners and torque steer like made

New st220 for £18-19k!,spend 1k on bluefin superchip,blueflame/milltek exhaust,k&n air filter,270bhp approx,you don't have to touch the suspension because the ride/handling balance is stunning,one,160mph car with mods,get a saloon(looks the best)in black,blue or silver.You can buy a 2yr old st220 with less than 20k miles for £12k,but hurry after topgear prices are on the up.Mazda 6(with hardly any discount available)I don't think so,and its an ugly bugger.
