This guy must take a S.I.V. clinic right now!!!! he did not use brakes when supost to use them and then almost makes a negative turn for too much right brake.
why is this guy flying? flying is a risk. TELL HIM.
Look again.. it aint underloaded.. I am in the upper section.. but toward the hill I a am allmost in a negative situation..
The problem I have is the overshooting due to an extra 5 kilo's on top of the glider..
As this is wearing off the overshooting is way much better to handle... :-)
btw ,, the manfucturer is the same but the switch between mswing-mistral and swing-astral is in performance a big leap!!! :-) But I still like it and still am ok and love to fly
Not so IMHO, The glider went into an incipient spin at 7 secs, this following the initial collapse. The spiral, and the fact he didn't hit the hill below where the videoer was, was luck as much as anything. You should try and control heading and even turn away from the hill in the event of a collapse, not turn towards it! It looked to me as if the pilot instigated the spin acidntly by using right hnd brk and not controlling the wt shift wile the right hnd wing was collapsing and recovering.
by brand glider is this? it`s looks beautiful!

Lucky to be alive, but if he won't learn how to stop a glider from surging his luck will soon run out.

1-2 to 2 isnt much of a leap, maybe some difference if you change manufacturers. I went from 1-2 to 2-3 no probs.
Plus the wing looks reeealy underloaded.

You are right at 7 secs it was semi stalled and was spinning. Luckily he got out of it, don't know if he sensed it and released the brake or not

@Flyfever the thing here is that he got in a lot of trouble with out the need to! its better to avoid trouble than to recover from them!!

You released the brakes when you mostly needed them! To prevent the surge!
