  • Finally as an American I have another car to be proud of. They are finally making cars that as someone who NEVER gave american cars a second look would actually buy. Kudos to you Caddy and remember these simple ingredients Rear wheel drive+ Multilink suspension all around+ nice interiors and build quality on par with Lexus= success for you

  • Build it Cadillac ! !

  • I like how the music kind of suggests, "You're screwed, Mercedes."

  • They should just call it the Deville already, enough with the DTS XTS CTS whatever other 3 letters they can put together.

  • The future of Cadillac will be great. Here are some technologies that every Luxury company should think about:

    A. XEROX Copier and Printer built on top of the center console.

    B. Computer Screen and Keyboard on Passenger Side.

    C. Television and Internet Capabilities.

  • this vs the next gen linclon mks would be awesome. true american luxury cars are comming back!

  • really nice design. but if they want to sell these models in europe they have to make diesel engines too...

  • Cadi s the king

  • @Dalit5 respect to the seven series RESPECT

  • I basically like this car, but I would really like to see a bit bigger car, more along the lines of the 16 concept. Its rumored that the "UP" concept is just such a car, so I'm waiting.....Build it, and I will buy at least one.

  • Dullness has a new name...even the dramatic music cannot help this car. Yawn!

  • @aminevich Please explain...

    Oh wait because it's American...

    Dumbass.

  • @DeftonesFan867 Huh? Why are you so interested in my Ass? I am not sure if I'm comfortable with this information. I mean we just met.

Actually, I OWN a Caddie (2010 model). Or maybe it's because I live in the US? No, it must be that you are correct and my ASS is not as smart as you. A true rhetoric victory for you! Shees, it really is DULL compared to the styling of the S class, 7 series, etc. Would you HONESTLY buy this over say a Quatroporte?

  • @aminevich I'm not interested in your ass, but perhaps I was a bit harsher than need be.

However the Quattroporte isn't in the same class as this vehicle.

As far as dull styling goes you need to remember that the D segment isn't about alot of flash on the outside.

Besides this is a concept vehicle. The spy shots of the production model show a vehicle with much sharper lines.

  • GM decided to make one flagship car, they managed to combine the DTS and the STS = XTS.

  • Very beautiful car. Cadillac has done a great job designing the car itself. However, it needs a proper V8 engine. I am hoping that Cadillac is working on a Northstar Replacement. As I do own a Deville, I have no problem with future full size Cadillacs' keeping Front Wheel Drive. Having the front wheel drive, a ton of weight, and a powerful V8 has made me more confident in handling the Midwestern US winters. My front wheel drive Deville drives like a tank in the snow, but still performs.

  • It's no rumor. Cadillac not only plans to replace DTS but the STS as well. Also note this car is no longer a "concept". It's official now that this vehicle WILL be ready for purchase in 2012. The only "rumor" is what month. Want more info, call your local dealership to inquire about it's showroom appearance or contact Cadillac directly.

    It's how I found out

    -J

  • who starts a car ad with shards of broken glass flying around?

  • Comment removed

  • thumbs up if you agree cadillac needs to make their cars longer

  • Continuous variable Valve Timing is Cadillac all the way. Cadillac is the epitome of American Luxury, and something that should not be taken lightly.

  • this car out of proportion, and why kill rwd program that revised the brand?? The sts is a much looking car than this POS

  • Don't like the wheel base spacing; back too long in relation to the rear wheels. Looks like a Toyota Avalon, bleh. I'll stick with the CTS thank you.

  • That's great concept .The American cars are back

  • Beautiful concept, but I'm not getting my hopes up. The production car will probably either be ass ugly or it'll never even see mass production (much like the Cadillac Sixteen).

  • Don't like the body but love CTS body. If this is the Cadillac competitor for S-Class or 7 series I'll take the latter. I absolutely love the interior of the XTS from other youtube videos.

  • Wish they would start making coupes again. Mercedes CL is only one left.

  • its replacing the DTS and the STS. I much prefer the DTS, at least it carries on the hallmark of Cadillac from the 66 Fleetwood/Deville. Shame there is no replacement for the 96 Fleetwood and even greater shame that american cars have just got smaller and smaller since the big days of 1976 ..........

  • This has overtones of the current Jaguar XJ, especially from the cabin back.. Is it going into production?

  • @dynaco Yes, it should be out later this year. Everything but the grille is pretty much the same on the production model.

  • looks badass

  • I hope the production models will look just like the concept.

  • Cadillac, the American Luxury, cheaper than the Mercedes-Benz, plus, it is even better than the Mercedes-Benz.

  • para mim o melhor cadillac de todos os tempos

  • I don't see this thing being successful. Looks like a Lexus with Cadillac badges on it. Being a GM car I bet it's based on its European brands and probably be built in Canada.

  • @IchiCrack if you think this looks the slightest bit like a lexus then you need eye surgery.

  • if you want cheap luxury buy a cadillac! If you want the real think buy a merc!

  • @TheAwesumfulOne just because something is least espensive doesn't mean it's cheap,if that's the case than buy a meybech instead of a merc.comment doesn't make sense.........

  • @heartboy86 when I said Cheap I meant less expensive than a Maybach or Merc! Im saying if u want to drive in a luxurious way but cant afford a merc, then buy a Cadillac!

  • @thearithmetic i think your very right it is the one one the few ties to their heritage and should live on

  • It has been rumored that the XTS will replace the DTS but by no means should GM make the mistake of killing off the DTS nameplate as it is the only thing left of Cadillac's longest production marque the DeVille and one of the few remaining ties to their heritage. The DeVille (DTS) should be updated to true Art + Science stature (no longer a car for pensioners) and turned into an apt competitor for the A8, 7 Series, S Class and Lexus LS. The DeVille name is American legend and deserves to live on!

  • @TheArithmetic No rumour, DTS is gone after 2011. GM already discontinued the 4.6 Northstar back in July after building enough engines to supply the DTS for it's final mode year 2011. Sadly, Cadillac let the Deville and DTS in price and prestige fall down to where a car like Buick's Lucerne should be. Rather than struggle to push DTS back upscale, GM will start over by "rebooting" their big car.

  • @TheArithmetic Gotta agree, DTS/Deville to Cadillac is like Suburban/Camaro to Chevrolet. XTS isn't quite the size of the DTS but thats a good thing, make a true full size luxury car and call it DTS and beat the competition.

  • I am a lincoln man all my life but I think I want to make a change after seeing this.

  • Can anyone find me this audio track?

  • The production XTS MUST outshine the S-class as far as the interior and electronics package is concerned. Do not skimp on this one, Cadillac!

  • @Ziggermaniac search on youtube xts interior. much nicer than s class

  • Detroit fell asleep at the wheel 10 years ago - and never woke up.

  • why the hell dose it seem like cadillac is 10 years ahead of everyone else

  • Okay, that was a bit over the top. Oh! And the car is ugly.

  • @Brandonly23 what car are you calling ugly??

  • LOOKS LIKE A CAMRY FROM THE SIDE , I wish car makers would quit making the trunk lid so small and impractical.

  • Great car, absolutely stunning, but to compete with the s class, you'll need a long wheelbase and a short wheel base. Make the long wheel base one 5~7 inches longer than this one in the vid. Make more engine options, the 3.5L V6, maybe a 5.X L V8, a 5~6L V12, and then make a V-series V12 supercharged or twin turbo or something. This is definitely a step in the right direction, but when they have the aforementioned things in place, then this thing will REALLY turn heads.

  • @roberth214 I agree. They need to lengthen the front hood too.......Bring back the long wheelbase. Cadillac almost always stops short of getting it TOTALLY right.

  • @cadrolls1 yep...but I mean I guess GM is not in the right financial situation to "get things right". Companies like MB and BMW already have the years of cachet built up and people KNOW those cars are a symbol of class. Cadillac definitely once was, but with the lack of a proper line up, they aren't now. Right now they are in the beginning stages of redefining themselves and I am sure that one day, maybe not today, maybe not tomorrow, but ONE day, cadillac will reclaim its throne.

  • @roberth214.. You have no idea what your talking about. Do yourself a favor and go play in oncomming traffic.

  • @itsmarkwtf let me guess, you're jumping on the anti-american car company bandwagon aren'cha!

  • @itsmarkwtf Oh, and since you seem to know what you're talking about (judging by the wording of your comment), why don't you explain to me, or all of youtube, or better yet, GM, how things should be done? I personally think GM is doing a great job, do you have any suggestions?

  • @roberth214 When XTS does get built do expect: AWD with a transverse mounted engine on a heavily refined and stretched version of GM's Epsilon II platform . V-12 won't fit Epsilon II. Cadillac's experimental V-12 was designed to fit RWD platforms, and was considered for the Escalade and Cadillac's stillborn RWD XLS Zeta platform flagship. The V-12 was shelved in 2008, as GM didn't have money to build it.

  • I would of liked to see a longer hood and a shorter deck..other wise it has an original look to it's own like its stable mates!

  • @togwm I agree. The hood to way too snub for this price class. It should be lengthened by 4 inches.................at least. Otherwise, it is a VERY attractive design.

  • Cadillac, you need to build this car, and you need to build it exactly as you've displayed here!

Anxious Gen 2 SRX owner awaiting XTS Platinum... =D

  • when it comes to style, performance.looks and afforadable price caddy is simply best in the world,GM has really doen a good job with cadillac, well done GM

  • Looks like an angled Avalon. Sure hope it'll be as reliable as an Avalon.

  • @bondage2012 Lol uh, unfortunately through personal experience, the Avalon is NOT RELIABLE AT ALL. Thank god we got rid of that piece of shit, before Toyota kept getting more of our money over constant repairs. Our new Cadillac however...not a problem since. It's been over a year too. We had the Avalon for three...so wonderful to sit on a car that makes so much noise, rattles, and has wooden bench feeling seats. Absolute junk.

  • @fp3shb Give me a break. Everyone knows the Toyota episode is an '80s Audi replay for a different painted target. Avalon is by far the best full size sedan in terms of reliability and affordability; unlike a Cadillac that's only famous by name because all the greaseballs like to drive them in criminal B movies.

  • @bondage2012 Yeah the avalon actually wasn't, and still isn't, the greatest car in their lineup. And that's an understatement. The Avalon (all generations) weren't very good at all.

  • this is a damn good car but cadillac and lincoln please come up with some better names for your cars im tired of random combos of letters and numbers, im sorry but XTS does not want me to buy your car it sounds like faggy euro shit, think more like Eldorado,DeVille, continental, limperial,

  • @wil61892 I agree with you on Lincoln's Names, but Cadillac's names have meaning. CTS-Catera Touring Sedan. DTS-Deville Touring Sedan. STS-Seville Touring Sedan. The XTS probably won't be called the XTS anyway, which is why it is stated as the XTS concept. X referring to no name. Learn what you're talking about, before you say it. At least with Cadillac.

  • so they are going to make the nicest car ever

  • why does everyone say the dts is a boat , i had a 2002 dhs and it went like jack the bear and could handle real nice, why are we putting a cadillac logo on a buick here? or worse yet a malibu , dont get me wrong i think both the buick and malibu are really nice cars but comon there is nothing distinctly cadillac except the grille and maybe the attempt at vertical tail lights, it is nothing like my 68 coupe now that has style, but i guess im old school and im only 31 and i love cadillacs.

  • @hoffa1968 the DTS is huge.. but i agree. the DTS/DHS is a bigger car. people just stereotype the Deville/DTS/DHS because of Cadillac's nameplates which result in people automatically thinking "boat, land yacht" etc.

  • @hoffa1968 dude, the DTS is a fucking land barge. I love it tho, it looks nice and I would kill to drive one. But dude it's massive, i think it's something like 18 feet long almost.

  • if the final prod. car is nearly identical, then this car will give a serious blow to all those conservative german cars which some of us are tired of.

  • good looking car, there is no excuse why german or japanese cars can be better than american cars!

  • Fuck them German sedans, Cadillac is the definition of world-class. I started liking Cadillacs since high school and do not intent to stop.

  • More Cadillac rubbish. I bet only rednecks will like this.

  • WoW!!! That thing looks beefy... The botom part of the grille looks like its teeth is sticking out in the disgust of other cars.. Utterly engaging with a menacing attitude of luxury!!!!

  • Please make this car. I will sign up to buy 2 if need be.

  • There coming BACK!! How much 4 this american dream?? Where do i sign!! Caddy 4 ever!!

  • This car has got great looks. But I wonder how powerful it is...

  • how much

  • great car

  • This sexy beast has been confirmed for production ;)

  • Good job Cadillac! Claim your throne again!

  • @hazzi15 Very striking car but im too sure about the "throne" thingy. Cadi has never been on the throne thats for sure! Its Merc, BMW and Audi on the throne!!!

  • @whatever04811

Cadillac is over 100 years old and was out before Audi and BMW ever existed and yes they were once a rival to Rolls making the only production V16 and V12 cars at the time. The introduced the more technology than I can list so please history is longer than just the last 20 years. Just search Cadillac first or innovations and you'll understand. More on point that car is stunning!

  • Here's a summary of my opinion about this car:

    BAD ASS!!

  • and lincoln, get with the program! change yur look of the town car. its 7yrs old now... and time for a new look for navigator as well. at one time lincoln held the crown

  • out friggin standing. come on buick and come back olds.

  • The XTS is real proof that GM has gotten its act together. Cadillac along with its cousin Buick is proving again to Americans what the Europeans already know. The United States do build great automobiles. Lets all hope GM doesn't get too comfortable again and let the world pass it by.

  • BEAUTIFUL CAR!

Make it, AND I WILL ROB A BANK TO BUY IT!!

  • I saw this at the Chicago auto show and I couldn't keep my jaw up.

  • looks like a malibu given the cadillac treatment from the side. awesome though. current cts is tough to top.

  • now they just have to get a superb set of power trains together for this and it will be a CADILLAC that will do serious damage in the top of the line sedan market.

  • I hope they don't change anything when they eventually decide to put this beauty into production!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Trust me they will keep it pretty much the same. Inside and out. Recently Cadillac's concepts(Which aren't even really concepts) have looked pretty much identical inside and out of the production cars. Like the Provoq(new SRX) CTS coupe. And now this, It will definitely loose the extra glitz, like the fancy head lights in place of regular HID lights. The side-view mirrors. And interior wise the center console won't be as "concepty" So keep an I eye out, it'll be an amazing car I am 100% sure! (:

  • Beatiful Car!! I love it

  • I agree with you 100%, I hope they make this soon. I wish to buy one as my first car :)

  • They will be lol, it's already been given a place of production. And it'll look pretty much identical(:!

  • @GidgyGidgyYaYaDaDa

    I agree 100%.

  • Could not agree you anymore! Cadillac NEEDS this car. I NEED THIS CAR! Haha it'll put Cadillac back to where it needs to be, with out the ridiculous judgement from critics. They're amazing cars now, but this will finally place Cadillac where it BELONGS. S Class? A joke to this.

  • @GidgyGidgyYaYaDaDa you do realise the XTS is really just a current Chevorlet Malibu.. or at least it kinda looks like it. and don't diss the Benz. You pay for what you get in an S-Class.

  • @itisian Pure ignorance. Now your joke S-class has a carbon copy of it, that is a few 100 thousand dollars more. It is called the Maybach. Any negative comments about that?

  • @fp3shb .. not even close. YOU do realise that the Maybach is built on a different platform which for the 62/62S / 67/67S WHICH ARE LONG WHEELBASE PLATFORMS FOR BOTH . maybe the 57, yes.. but not 62 and 67 series. so ssh.

  • @itisian Lol um cars can still be built on the same platform but have a longer wheelbase? And besides I never said the Maybach was built on the same platform of the S class? Get your head out of your ass. I said all it is a rebadged longer S class with an extra few hundred thousand dollars added to the list. So if you have so much to say about the Malibu being the same as the XTS, but more expensive then you're saying the same about the S class, and Maybach's. Oh and it's realize, not "realise."

  • @fp3shb if you didn't realize, the "s" key is right above the "z" key. common mistake asshole. and it's not built in the same platform as the S-Class you stupid dumbass. you might as well go ahead and say the 7-Series Long Wheelbase is the same as a Rolls-Royce Phantom Platform, because BMW owns Rolls-Royce. you don't know what you're talking about so stop talking. and i said the XTS LOOKS like a Malibu. i didn't say it was confirmed.. like stfu bud. you know nothing.

  • @itisian Lol twisting words up, putting words in mouths, and continuing ignorant comments. You clearly are uneducated in the world of automobiles. I am done with you.

  • @fp3shb ACTUALLY as a matter of fact i do know a lot about the world of automobiles. considering i am the proud owner of a 2004 Cadillac CTS 3.6L Dual Exhaust, White Diamond on Cashmere leather. like shut up buddy? you know nothing about autmobiles. like.. just shut up, i have no time for ignorant bastards such as yourself.

  • I like it !

  • if tthey make the V version of this car they should not overdo the front. they should give the front more curve whereas the CTS-V is all square in front. this car should remain elegant

  • is it a hybrid? or does someone kno if its a hybrid or not cuz this is one good lookin car

  • this particular one yes. but if they make a V version of the car it will be all gas

  • @usa1america uhm, im not sure about the "white power" part

  • not necessary...

  • @usa1america hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha

  • uh... wasn't the guy who designed the cts a black guy and isn't he now the head of cadillac design?

  • This is a nice car but gm needs to stop with the bs.. cadillac has history being above rolls royce and thats where cadillac needs to be not competing with mercedes and bimmer thats buicks job like it use to be...

  • @xlrvlac Someone who agrees! I have said this on here so many times. Cadillac has such an amazing potential, but they're held back so much because of GM and I feel if Cadillac was to leave GM they'd definitely be able to do what they KNOW they can, and be once again Standard of the World.

  • Whoa. This is definitely a potential flagship Cadillac could be proud of! The only three things I have concerns over are, Is there a physical spedometer behind the OLED in case it suddenly dies? (Probably in the production model), Is there a rear center armrest? (Probably, I bet that heritage "V" logo doubles as a grip for it or something cool like that) Finally, please keep all-wheel drive standard in the production model! The later Fleetwood models' only shortcoming was the feel of its FWD.

  • Great looking car but since it's a Cadillac flagship, doesnt it deserve a better platform to build upon? A Buick LaCrosse isn't my idea of a good place to start especially if it's used for the foundation of luxury flagship model. Why not use the overachieving chassis under the CTS/STS, make it a bit longer, wider and go from there? Sure there is additional costs BUT it is the top representative of Cadillac. Just seems like a lot of compromises with this car.

  • I wonna see the car and hear the engine not a load of fucking graphics

  • Absolutely an amazing video but unfourtunatly Cadillac has lost its design and is morphing into an everyday design, this is a rather hideous and ugly design, and design is first for me. and dont take me as a hater or anything like that i own many Cadillacs. But Cadillac needs to stop coming out with these shitty designs

  • @lifesacalamity i auctally like it

  • FYI, the interior in this car is simply amazing (minus the Acura style LED speedometer which I'm not really a fan of). When discussing this car, they focused solely on the interior of the car, avoiding the exterior which suggests to me that the exterior will change.

IMO the STS was a great looking car. If they put the interior of the XTS in the STS, or even the interior of the Chinese SLS in the STS, the rest of the competition would be looking up at Cadillac...

  • I agree with the interior look has been spiced up a bit but seriously take a look at the body style i mean it looks like the malibu almost, they need to make it a more definitive atyle like when you look at it you know its a Cadillac

  • The only thing on it that rings Cadillac is the grill... and maybe th rims those are nice too.

I can see Malibu in the shape a little, but take away the grill and the lights and put on some more run of the mill rims, and you have an upscale car - Lacrosse, Avalon, Maxima, maybe Lexus at best. They should be aiming above for Mercedes/BMW (they are nice, but there's no reason they couldn;t make anything that would blow both clean out of the water).

  • Agreed but until something new comes out that i like im gonna stick with my 68' Cadillac

  • '68 Cadillac.... I'm drooling all over my keyboard thinking about it. What model?

  • De Ville hardtop sedan, I drive it but, soon im gonna take it into a major custom overhaul, stripping it right down to the frame, im gonna lower it, have huge white walls with spoked rims, black leather bench seats, shaved eveything, stereo molded trunk hopefully, and it will be deep dark purple with some celtic designs on the trunk, hood, rear roof supports, it should be rather nice when im done in a few years, got any thoughts?

  • @lifesacalamity , nice car! Just don't do anything to tacky - try to keep the original sort of look with your personalized touch -- that's my recommendation.

I've seen stuff that is incredibly tacky/cheesy, and stuff that's nice and original.

  • @lifesacalamity i love the design

  • its based on the cadillac sixteen platform

  • this thing looks like it built off the same platform as the Austrailian Holden Commadore, so it should be rear wheel drive.

  • It's supposed to be FWD with an AWD option, built on the Buick Lacrosse platform...

  • @Scottyboy16 The engine is mated to a two-mode hybrid transmission. Based on what GM has now that means it has 4 fixed ratios plus two E-CVTs. Much more than 7 speeds total.

I doubt it would handle like a boat. Even in the new Lacrosse CXS, which is admittedly soft, I was able to keep up with an Altima Coupe in some twisties. Sure the big girl rolled a bit, but no tire squeal and I kept on his bumper. I'm certain the Cadillac would be tuned for firmer handling.

  • Sorry, for being judgmental.I must add one more thing: when GM say platinum Instantly the Escalade comes to mind, meaning the regular Escalade has a very moderate interior, with plastic touches. The Escalade platinum has a worthy interior and the plastic replaced with leather, so my question is how will the none platinum interior be as exquisite?

  • @Scottyboy016

Sorry to correct but the look Escalade which is started rolling in around year 2007 has leather trims and hand stitched leather dashboards, the platinum adds bigger rims, and different headlughts plus more bling bling here and there....Escalades are amazing and never cheap. Escalades are the best selling Luxury SUV in America!

  • Also, what engines are supposed to be offered. I like the hybrid, and the combined 350hp. But with the L shaped lithium ion batteries, that add alot of weight. All future V8 for cadillac have be shelved or canceled. Nor, have I heard of double clutch 7 speed transmission. A engine with over 400hp would be preferred for flag ship. Or will this be a city car, that is environmental and keep the Benz in the garage?

  • @Scottyboy016 I am sure the whole hybrid idea will be an engine option for sure, but with Cadillac putting 550+ HP in the CTS portfolio they're definitely not canceling any V8's, and they also stated all Cadillac's will offer either a V-series, or Platinum. I am sure the V8 for this will always be here.

  • it would also be cool if Cadillac would offer the Northstar V12 from the Cien concept from 2002 as an option like they said they were going to do but never did!!!

  • That would be really nice, but it's GM they're holding Cadillac back.

  • agreed

  • All it needs is a "We're Back" voiceover at the end! Awesome car. I got a video of it being moved around the COBO during press days.

  • this car is THE car. i need to get my hands on one of these.

anyway someone knows the name of the songs by any chance??

  • Very nice.

    3 Questions:

    --> How much

--> Will it come in 4 wheel drive

--> When can I have one

  • Well it's going to definitely compete with the big full-size luxury sedans. Especially due to this new hybrid system. So that says Lexus LS, Mercedes S class, BMW 7 series, and Audi A8. So means a price range probably close, or a little less then them. And it's not going to be being production for a year about. Which is a shame, because I want it now!

  • This is tight! Reminds me of the Transporter meets Dark Knight.

  • Oh shit isant this the Car they are talking about is going to replace the DTS and STS? Must buy

  • yes, the upcoming flagship of cadillac

  • Yeah it is, it's beautiful.

  • symbol of America reawaken

  • @GTGTRR

    Love that....American cars are back!

  • dude, this masterpiece has the right to compete with the big dogs, S-class, 7 series, A8. if you give me the choice, ill WILL go for this one

  • It`s AMERICAN Dreaming ;-) Yes We Can

  • TOP TOP TOP

  • All i can say is Damn, that sexy machine. Look at what Cadillac can do. I would so buy this Cadillac xts. I'm jizzing in my pants right know. Sooooooooooooooooooooo sexy.

  • WOW thats one bad ass cadi

  • Best Rims A Cadillac has ever had, looked like something BMW would sport. This thing makes CTS look like crap. Best interior too. Big ass though, however the backside on a 7 Series ain't good looking either. Since my cousin owns a 7 and 6 series and it's gas mileage is no better than an Escalade, I'm glad this thing is a Hybrid. Damn glad, hey Caddy release it already, don't shrink it.

  • All I can say is damn that's hot!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • damm badass lookin cadillac i want one this one gonna beat BMW

  • "Buick LaCrosse?"

  • hot

  • W.O.W.

  • nice car but it should be rear wheel drive.
