I was born at camp lejeune or should I say Jville. It's okay. I'm glad I joined the army though. I tried to get my son to join too but instead he went Marine...hoorah!!
It feels like forever ago that I was stationed at Camp Lejeune! I was with 3rd Btln. 6th Marines, Your room looks great! I was married so never lived in the Barracks on I street, but I can tell you that yours looks a whole lot better than our units Barracks. I hope you enjoy your job as a Corpsman, or Hospital Corpsman because without you I would not be alive today! Injured back in 05 and Corpsman up was the last thing I heard! Semper Fi! and God Bless!!! Ooh- Rah!! BTWYou are Beautiful! Ooh-Ya!
I spent 8 years as a Marine from 1978-1986 and 3 yrs were at Lejuene with 3/6 near Mainside on "K" Street.. We all lived in open squadbays back then. Do 0311's live in barracks like these today? WOW! That would be so strange to me. I guess I'm an old fogey in my way of thinking. This doesn't seem right but peace to you Marine.
God i miss the barracks of Camp Lejeune, lol not really I just miss my marines, a party 24/7 any room you go to they be playing drinking games,, the only true problem is though that room wouldn't pass a room inspection!!!
It's been many years since I was in but there was a garage you could work on your vehicle on base. They had tools and everything. It didn't coat anything to use either. Once you get there ask around and I'll bet there still is one. However you can't leave you car in the garage. But if it's going to take more than a day, there was parking right next to it to leave your vehicle while you were working on it. There were many things on base for the men and women. A marina, golf course etc, etc.
I served 4 years in the German armed service abd we NEVER had a room with any kind of carpet in it. This looks more like a student room as a room inside a barrack.
I live in the newer and slightly smaller 2 person room in french creek. It's actually pretty nice with my own walk in closet and shower instead of shared heads
you've got one of the newer, nicer 3 man (women) rooms, i'm also on lejeune and i live in the 10th marines two man rooms, talk about a dump, wish mine was as nice as yours :P
i have a question, i couldnt find any information on it, but are there garages at Camp Lejeune? i go to Marine bootcamp in about 100 days, im a huge car nut and i plan on building the car that i will use for a planned honeymoon, and cars are a huge part of who i am. if not though ill manage a way. thank you for any information! thank you for your service.
@snipinggod29 No Marine base has garages where you park your car for the night. Some bases have an auto hobby shop where you can work on your car. Don't get caught doing maintenance in the parking lot. Many will not have anyplace near to park as in the older days, E3 and below had to get base commander permission to bring a car on base and very few E3 and below were allowed to bring a spouse on an accompanied tour. Don't count on government housing after marriage.
@snipinggod29 No, there aren't any garages if you live in the barracks. But I can't speak for if you live in base housing, then you might have a garage. I don't know much about cars though, so I hope that helps! :)
@snipinggod29 there used to be a place that had a place you could work on cars and had tools and a bunch of other things you would need. but that was when i was there in the late 90s.
@snipinggod29 LOL this is an interesting comment. ive been in the Corps for almost 3 years now. I can tell you, if you are going to be living in the on base Barracks you can just forget about working on your cars dude. That is not going to happen. Your entire life will be put significantly "on hold" until you are finished and done with your entire 4 year enlistment. There are many things that i am involved in too but have not been able to engage in those activities because of Marine Life.
@realityfighting i think it depends on what MOS you have, im in MOS school right now in Pendelton, and some people say they work all day long, and others say they work 6-8 hours, just depends on what all needs to be done that day.
@snipinggod29 you might be right. im now PCSed from Okinawa. So im now in camp Lejeune. and i must say life in the Marine Corps is alot different out here. you have much more free time to yourself to do things. perhaps its possible. most MOSes i know of work usually 8-10 hours a day. not really that bad. thankfully ive only got 17 more months left in the Corps and i will be out.
@realityfighting i actually love this, in boot i loved waking up every day, in mct i couldnt wait to hike to the range, here i cant wait to go to class, i am starting to think im gonna end up going for more than one enlistment, ive just been Mr. Super Moto since receiving, and that was almost 5 months ago, so i dont know.
@MeZzZzZzZzZzZzZzZzZ Honestly, it's the military. They're not going to waste money and space to room someone by themselves, especially if you're with the Marine Corps. Yeah, it sucks, but it's a way of life.
@MeZzZzZzZzZzZzZzZzZ until you rank up to E4 i think, after that youre allowed to get your own place, or if you get married, you can live on base with your spouse and no roomate even if youre ranked lower than E4. that's what i remember hearing from my recruiter i may be wrong on the rank.
@maravilla1992 Yes, the camera it comes with is rather slow... And the fan is so loud, because it gets overheated so quickly! I heard that if you update to windows 7 it might help it run faster. Also a quick fix: don't run too many programs at once.
@leisley90 yes I do kow how to use my computer. My major problem with this pc is that at some point it would start load sounds like if something was in the fan. I should just open it and clean all the dust because it can be due to the dust. Thanx for your reply any way
@RosesNRevolvers Not necessarily, if you'll be a PSI at the hospital, then they'll more than likely put you in the hospital barracks. I was a PSI at the hospital as well and they had me in their barracks. It was pretty nice because it's like only a short walk away to the actual hospital. The barracks in this video are from 2d Med Bn. Good luck in FMTB :)
jeez thats a lot of stuff... do we need all of that stuff or are you there for a really long time? i'm a guy so i wont need the hair spray or shit like that
You're a corpsman? Lucky lady~ I am seriously hoping to enlist as one myself! And I am super excited that you can personalize your room a little bit, I had been under the impression that you had to use everything they issued you and nothing more!
that's a really nice barracks room, i like the gear and "junk, that you don't really need." I bet it's so annoying carrying that around the woods every other week. christmas trees are such a good idea for the room! So important!

Personnel stationed at the hospital live in that barracks, right?
I'll be transferring there from NAS Pensacola in about a week and I'm trying to research what my living conditions will be like for three months.
I'll be a PSI at the hospital waiting to class up for FMTB and I heard something about PSIs potentially living somewhere else?
