i've been using the Vic Firth 5B Extreme , it has a bit more length to it than the regular 5B, I also love nylon tip sticks

I started playing drums with 5A sticks (as advice from my drum teacher). Then i went to 5B's because of the tip which projects far more. Then bought 2 pair of Extreme 5B's from a friend and tried them when warming up in studio. They never left my hands since then. More wood, and more weight can definitely improve your control!

When they are available in the Netherlands I sure will check out a pair!

What George says at the end is what a lot of people seem to forget about: have FUN playing the drums. It's not about who can play the fastest or pull off a blast beat at 295 BPM, it's about the FUN you experience when playing drums :) I want to try those sticks out too
