consumer grade video has way more noise. or rather lower signal to noise ratio. they also tend not to have locking exposure levels. as for three chips. I think high bandwidth compression matters a lot more.

Constructive Criticism: You video is saturated in color, the audio is very poor, you have NO professional lighting, and your desk is too cluttered and distracting. If you are gonna make a video on "How To Make Professional Digital Video" your video itself better be Professional. People are NOT going to take you seriously. On the other hand, you seem to know a little bit of theory in digital video. But I'm sorry your stuff is FAR from professional. Advise: Learn more and try again.

Well if you're going to make a video about how to shoot professional video, it would help if the tutorial iself was shot professionally. Sorry to say yours isn't. Its far too dark, meaning under exposed.

@willieofroanoke @jonlarson88 Yeah, he does have an awful glare on his forehead. Needed a hair light behind him, but the set is too cluttered for that. And, the audio isn't professional quality, but at least it is distinct and understandable; not overpowered with rap crap! And, at least he's teaching some good aspects. I also complement him for limited camera movement; video, like the movies, means subject movement; not camera movement. Viewers don't want nausea from camera motion.

My best advice is, the less compression (higher bit rate) the better the quality. Most of other things are neglible. Maybe this guy's video was okay, but once you did "glorious" MPEG-4 on it, it looks what it looks.

ok OMG......I love it when a "pro" makes videos like this.....the lighting in this video is dismal....the audio has background noise.....the encoding is average......Now I am one to talk but without previewing my channel I will admit some of mine are similar or even worse.....but in an instructional video this could definitely be better....so I will post one on the subject.....and you don't need 3ccd cameras......I have them but I also have some consumer ones that put out great pictures.....
