  • Absolute masterpiece of an LP. Less obvious than the first, but deeper, more powerful, more edgy. They were taking risks and pushing themselves. Fucking A 1, chaps ...

  • I can't wait for next summer!! seeing these lads on stage is a wish come through!!

  • wot a tune wot an album man ????

  • Nothing wrong with the second coming. Long Live the Roses

  • great post.

  • I don't know whats better? squire back at his riffing best? brown back in the mainstream? the stone rose back together or the fact that there might be a new album??? music has become stale, a bore to listen to! i mean there are/must be people who love the scene at the moment but i remember the la's, the stone roses, the smiths, ocs, oasis, blur, the manics, the furries the charlitains etc etc etc in their pomp! all i need is the la's, oasis and the smiths to get back together and im done!!!

  • John Squire was some guitar player, eh lads? It's fookin' fanbloodytastic to ave em back tagever

  • This song and Tears are 2 of my favs from the band..Breakin' into Heaven also another classic imho..h4Humble..haha! Rock'n'Roll.........!

  • Not good, contrived and over complicated. sounds like the roses trying to do something great rather than just letting it happen. it's the hardest thing in the world to try to relive a moment of supreme inspiration. they are still brilliant though...hope they already have some good up material up their sleeves for album 3

  • second coming is immense. it was my first experience of the stone roses being a bit of a youngster, for a while i thought it was there best, maybe not but its still amazing. and this song is me and my lass' tune! coolest love song ever. cant wait for heaton park and a third coming!x

  • Some unfinished busness!!! this band along with the la's and the smiths were the best thing to come out of the 80's!!! unfortunatly the la's and the smiths arn't getting back together but the FUCKING STONE ROSES ARE!!!!!! musics a bit stale at the moment, oasis gone, noel and liam making solo stuff thats ok? the moment i hear the first 10 min squire riff and that swaggering voice of brown it'll be like they've never been away???

  • @TomSpartan218 lol!!!!! welcome to the dark side! theyre getting back together again........... more wanking????

  • they're reviving!!!!!

  • Cant wait for there new album!

  • most underated album of all time. the roses pissed magazines off by letting the big issue getting the big 1st interview. songs like driving south, good times, love spreads simply sound amazing turned up loud and ten storey love song is one of the greatest songs ever. john squire is sensational on the 2nd coming

  • @shebangsthedrums89 it's great to see the magazines now, like NME (who slagged off this album) doing a major U-Turn..ironic. Too true fella

  • Chhhhhhoooooooooone!

  • Second Coming has got so many pearls...

  • Are we etched in stone or just scratched in the sand

Waiting for the waves to come and reclaim the land.....most inspirational lyric in my life!

  • This is the best song I have ever heard.

  • should have played this at my wedding.

I know I'll never want another lover my sweet (love you L)

  • the more i listen to second coming, the better it gets. i think that when they tour again and release their third and best studio album "third time lucky", they will sell out wembley stadium and the place will be full of geezers with their kids and grandkids, all roses fans, singing this one together.

  • im on a tightrope baby

  • We need the Stone Roses today more than ever.

  • @croesrob never has someone been so right

  • i prefer the live version on Crimson Tonight by far

  • The unsung song of the 60s. As good as anything from San Francisco.

  • Love when the bass kicks in.

  • ABSO FUCKIN' LUTELY ADORE IT

  • gone for a simlar sound as the Beatles with this one.

  • @amccarthy08 no mate, its just the roses sound!

  • @SCFCWeller Wrong, Amccarthy08 is right, it does have a Beatles sound. You say you are British, you of all people should know this! I'm starting to think you aren't even British at all, you are just another American pretending to be something that you are not.

  • @indielad13 Why compare them to the fucking Smiths? Completely different.

  • Amazing!!!! Just amazing. Reminds me of my travels in Europe back in the 90's

  • @indielad13 not really fair because the smiths inspired bands like the stone roses, if it wer'nt for the early eighties bands the stone roses may have never formed at all

  • dont get better than this tune!!!! genius!!!

  • you know, i dont really like the stone roses, but i like this song

  • Fuck you. I love both of these bands.

  • Why are you comparing the Stone Roses to The Smiths? Both ground-breaking bands from the best City on Earth - sure, but musically they're miles apart. There's nothing to compare.

  • @indielad13 love the smiths, but i totally have to agree

  • this is a proppa campfire song cool as man love it

  • Fuck. I'm only discovering the unreleased songs of this album now! I'm ashamed.

  • @mikegalsworthy

Ashamed you should be. How old are you? Where were you while we were getting high?

  • @THEGRIMN0RTH Didn't know yoda had a youtube account.

  • @madeofstone95

    No it, you should!

  • @mikegalsworthy

Ashamed you should be. How old are you? Where were you while we were getting high? I used to listen to theStone Roses at night on the Mark & Lard doing the grave yard shift. If you understand reply.

  • class.. as music should be ... this album was not given the credit it deserved.. but still. its amongst the best.. love it .. been replaying it more and more .. and its still fkn class.. better than the crap that gets palmed off now as music ...

  • genius

  • second coming,underated big time,superb,

  • The Stone Roses: No bullshit allowed.

    Just music mate.

  • what a song, and what a fuckin' band <3

  • damn you parents for not thinking about kids 5 years earlier. Damn you Mum and Dad damn you. To live through the Roses @ their peak must have been something else.

  • THankyou.

  • i adore this song. being an american, ive always romanticized that its one you rowdy english pub crawlers belt out every now and again, though i fear i'm off. anyone able to corroborate this fantasy?

  • @bepaetzold what a comment.. us northerners might.. were a different breed, lol but yeah, this song cuts to the bone.. class..

  • @bepaetzold

well yes....the correct method is to have a massive group hug of about 15+ people and press foreheads together while it starts lol

  • @bepaetzold

Next time I'm in the pub me and my mates are gonna do it especially for you.

  • 5 mancs travelling on the roof of a bus in north india, toasted on opium resin sharing 2 walkmans singin our fookin hearts out for the roses !!!!av;in,it

  • @kiaganga haha class comment

  • stoneroses saved my life

  • The more you listen to the second coming the more it grows on you. It's a fucking masterpiece.

  • @oce1989 definitely i don't understand how it got such bad reviews when it came out, think its because everyone was expecting something more like there first album, but it was more about there roots as far as i can tell and its a fucking beaut.

  • whart a fucking tuneeeeeeeeeeee!!!!!!! LOVING IT!!!

  • so f****** wonderful... this is why today these guys still have an impact...., been listening to this more and more, the last few weeks, enough said...

  • MrsTuesday you deserve parent of the year award!! Your children will grow up too cool for school anyway so who cares what the teachers think eh! ;) my lil lad is 19 months old and tells everyone he has hair like Ian Brown! he also has to hear this track every morn while eating hie weetabix! corrption is great! roses will live forever through our kids x

  • A class apart from everything else!!

  • takes me to a better p-lace.....

  • class, class, class noone else can add anything to it!!!!!!!!

  • are we etched in stone or just scratched in the sand

  • Comment removed

  • gotta say the first set of lines of this song have to rank as the most cringeworthy ever!

    great song tho!

  • The Man They Call Squire has been listening to "Ramble On" by Led Zeppelin on loop for this one... but I like what they've done with it.

King Monkey's chant and mantra are epic and complement it perfectly.

  • stone roses at their best !! quality tune !! a long, long long way down !!!!

  • "Are we etched in stone or just scratched in the sand, waiting for the waves to and reclaim the land"

Poetic.. and a song that i sing to my lady.

  • The Stone Roses got decent airplay on college stations here in the States, especially in the early '90s after their 1st(makes me feel old...20 years, wow.)

  • What a tune. This is one of my kids favourite songs, 5, 7 and 9, we have a sing song on the way to school, they know all Madchester and the teachers think they have parents who are slightly mad! How dare they!

  • @MrsTuesday You are bringing your kids up well! My dad did the same with me, got me into proper good rock music.

  • @MrsTuesday SPOT ON WITH THIS SONG MY FRIEND..Stone Roses are one of my all time fav bands..I love this song..The lyrics are 1st class aswell..John Squire and Ian Brown need to work it out 4 a comeback or 2 or 3 or 4 or just forever..What say U? Come on the Stone Roses! Mr Squire is a very underrated guitar player imho..(h 4 humble)..LOL...The Lyrics in 'Tears' are beautiful 2..So many top notch songs by this great band..Shame they didn't stay together but I guess it happens all the time..bye!

  • @MrsTuesday Need more parents like you!

  • "Can there be more in this world than the joy of just watching you sleep?"... what a line!

  • Great, great song. proper crafting.Love it.

  • AWESOME! It's the only word that comes to mind.

    John Squire is a genius.

    Long live the Roses' music!

  • In terms of lyrics, the greatest song ever. Good old Johhny Squire!

  • I love this track.

Where the roses big (read known) in the US? I want to play this song for my other half who's American.

and yes I'm getting all googy but I'm drunk so that's OK :D

  • probably not but then americans never do always get the music from these fabulous isles:-)

  • @yianni1071 As an American myself I'd have to agree. Great bands that either take ages to break out over here or never even do. I mean look at Madness and T.Rex, great bands that only had a few songs over here that went anywhere. It's a shame really. We only produce shit nowadays! I prefer most UK music over anything American.

  • ian brown=genius

  • John Squire.

  • love it

  • love it! 5 stars and 1,000,000 views!

  • the roses rule end off!!!!!!

  • If liking Second Coming is wrong, I don't want to be right!

  • @hank3rox FACT.... Roll on 9:30...roll on Manchester June 29th 2012

  • I prefer the second coming to the 1st album. Never understood the backlash against this album, people dont appreciate musicians broadening their horizons

  • most probably because people expected something amazingly similar and good as the first one i reckon.

  • oh this song is immense

    just chills you out =]

one of the best roses songs

  • Tightrope

  • hahahaha.. no..

  • lady gaga should cover her head and crawl back into da hole she came from!!!

  • and her penis

  • you need to git a grip.lady gaga(lol)piece of shit.r u gay?

  • ya did you ever hear of a joke

  • This is the tune for the lady I' trying to woo / bag now...

  • i fu_kin love this song

  • how is everyone interpreting this song? romantic or not?

  • I think this is the most romantic song, a little uncertain but romantic. My wife walkwed down the isle to the very first part. Fantastic, what do you think?

  • best exam essay title ever.

  • ian browns the man. this band is way underrated. or at least under exposed. Def one of the top five bands of the late 80s/early 90s

  • Under exposed?? Where have you been living under a stone somewhere? The Stine Roses are a massive band, especially when you consider how few albums they've actually released.

  • maybe in the UK. but i meant in comparison to, say, oasis or whatever.

  • actually, they arent as popular in the U.S. as in the UK

  • wow..its been to long. Dallas late 90s man this was the pinnacle of music for our age.

are are we etched in stone or just scratched in the sand....to great

  • Not listened to this album for years, it's so much better than i remember, the Roses were unbelievable, thanks for the music. Saw them on the tour for the album with Black Grape backing.

  • second coming gets better everytime i listen to it...am i the only one who finks this?

  • yes you're the only one who "finks" lol

  • no ur not i often fink the same, my opinion is that this album was way ahead of its time.

  • Favourite song of all time!!!!!

  • Thanks buddy, a fantastic song and a great album.

  • this video is visually exquisite

  • Sheer bliss this song.

  • A very diverse album, great song sounds a bit like the kinks crossed with the stones.

  • 100009 times better than both these crappy bands if you ask me, which, i know, you don't.

  • The Rolling Stones and The Kinks are "crappy" bands? It's fine to say you dislike their music, but to say they're crappy shows your ignorance towards anything music related.

  • How precise, sir.

  • awesomeness. i never understood why this album was slated. it has many classic songs on it and this was my fave.

  • the roses dont have to many Acoustic songs..

    this song is great..

  • HAMMY IS A FUCKIN POOF

  • does any1 know when Third Coming is being released? Imagine.....

  • roses just gi`s me goose pimples n makes me smile every time i listen 2 em!!!!!! my little boy loves em 2!! e`s only 3 n knows all the words 2 sally cinnamon!!! just fookin awsum!!! yea man!! x

  • always chance to see ian brown

    definetly go for it

  • the roses are the benchmark. show me a band thro time that comes close. they are to good. no one comes close. i think squire and brown knew that. they are the fuckin bomb. go on the mancs. glasgow dave

  • Fucking Smiths are shite.

  • Smiths arent shite but there not on the level of The Roses

  • another well-thought out, useful argument brought to you by the fine users of youtube

  • Smiths are depressing... Roses are all smiles.

  • lolwut

Bye bye badman, Elizabeth my dear, Made of stone, Shoot you down

  • i know iknow iknow they are fantastico

  • This song is so good its unbelievable

  • wow! this song is truly amazing!

one of the best songs ever written in my opinion! the stone roses were also one of the best bands ever!

  • indielad i couldnt agree more god bless the memories because that is all we have...

  • it's a long way down.. don't fall off...

  • its just simply amazing that this album doesnt get the credit it deserves,,, such a unique legit sound... there is no bad song on the album... its amazing... people dont know a damn thing...

  • the what?? the 2nd coming was crap?????... one of the best albums of the 90s more like !!!!!

  • there is no doubt about it the is know one greater than the stone roses!!!!

  • second coming is my favorite roses album and i just cant explain why even the docter cant help me ? fucking love it! tears is easily the best track and excelent to riff and play!

  • do you want a slap? ur not getting one but thats not a good comment to make, explain urself!

  • are we etched in stone- or just scratching the sand?

  • Tightrope walking is very similar to getting a blow job from an old woman; it's very exhilarating but you don't look down.......

  • this is the best stone roses track amazin xxxx

  • do any of u no wat this tune is aboot

  • Lets be honest folks it is just absolute fuc!!!'n joy

  • ian brown is a fucking geezer!

  • created a generation

  • GREAT STUFF, DONT LISTEN TOL HYPE.

  • Adore this!!! Absolute genius!!!!

  • one of the best song's ever written. one of the most beautiful anyway.

  • beautiful

  • classic x2.

  • Critics diss Brown's voice but quite simply no other person on the planet could sing this.

Raw Mancunian yet incredibly beautiful in it's melody. Immense.

  • I think that Squire sings it well. He seems to have more passion, as he wrote the song.

  • genious. makes me cry every time i hear it. played at a good mates funeral. sad

  • tune

  • fuckin classic.

  • How did the stones fit so many top tunes in 2 albums.

  • The Roses did quite a few too :D
