The 2 most important tours Metallica ever did was this Van Halen tour and the tour with Guns N Roses. The VH tour sucked in all the rock and hard rock fans who discovered that day that these guys are one of the tightest live bands ever. There form of Metal is more rock oriented and it can appeal to everyone.

Then the Guns tour simply let the world know that Guns is not the biggest band or the best that it was in fact Metallica. They blew Guns off the stage at that show.

I was there. We drove from Az to see it.

From my vantage, in the nosebleeds, it turned to complete pandemonium when Metallica hit the stage.

The entire back half of the coliseum rushed the ground seats. Fires were burning, chairs flying around, helicopters hovering over, cops in riot gear, Guardian Angels volunteer crime fighters. It was chaos! As a young chap, I feared for my life

I was at this show...stoned off my ass and getting pelted with toilet paper. Down on the floor was general admission and people were jumping down and rushing the stage. The lineup was Kingdom Come, Dokken, Metallica, Scorpions and Van Halen (w/Sammy Hagar). Killer 12 hr. day!
