    Normally, you break the wall, walk left, and the camera scrolls so you can grab the missile pack. This glitch happens because while shes shinsparking, the camera doesn't move, because it only moves while walking. So, samus is actually in the hidden room, but the camera hasn't cought up. The reason you see samus twice is because the sprite keeps on moving left, but the game runs out of sprite video memory, and loops it over to the right side.
