This isn't genetics, it's mutations. Two similar yet different things. Mutations is when the child is born with an abnormality that wasn't included in the mother, father, or anywhere else in the life line. Genetics is where the child gets something from the parents, and one eyed cats aren't that common.

@6752sierramartin actually the kitten had cyclopia. A lethal mutation where the brain doesn't differntiate and only one eye forms. The eye takes over the sinus cavity causing the nose to deform. Most don't live more than half an hour. Same thing can happen to humans... I had to research it for a story I wrote.

@catsrmylife129 It had "cyclopia", a condition caused by severe holoprosencephaly; the brain does not split into two hemispheres as it is supposed to, resulting in the eyes not separating either, which results in one large central eye (sometimes it will have two pupils). This condition has been found in sheep, cows, and even humans (many other animals, as well). People/animals born with cyclopia, are usually not born alive, and if they are, the usually die within a few days, due to complications

The condition results in so many severe complications with bodily functions (breathing, eating, etc.) that animals and humans never live long with this condition.
