The metaphor for coldness is afflictive emotions, it is neutralized by heat, which I'm assuming is compassion. But what does it mean getting too hot? Too much compassion is harmful? Or does hot mean like abstention from engagement with causes of affliction, thus too much could stray into Hinaya?
