It's funny how universities can whine about lack of funds and keep jacking up the tuition on its student body, but at the same time it has millions of dollars to throw away on boneheads like this for a football program. It's akin to the corporate bailout we see happening in this country. The little guy always seems to end up out in the cold. How much of a tuition rate rise will this cost?

Dude you got it backwards, Football Programs make the money. Where do you think happens to the money from the Football Tickets and Parking etc: that money goes to the sports salary's like contracts and news sports buildings. tuition cost stays out of the hands of Sports programs, and at UT the football program puts some money (millions) into the general college fund to keep some Tuition from raising (heard that on the sports talk radio show in Knoxville, for the AD)
