Didn't he interact with the past? Aren't doomed timelines ones where someone has meddled in the past? If so, the kids' universe would be dead by now. I'm confused on what a dead timeline is.

So in the timeline where Terezi tricked John into getting killed by the Denizen, Jade couldn't have someone interact with her in Sburb so the meteor killed her, so it was just Dave and Rose left so Dave went back in time to stop John from going through with Terezi's plan. Future Dave then also stopped Past Dave from prototyping his kernel w/ Cal, and jumped in the kernel instead, making Davesprite and averting the doomed timeline.

actually, I'm really happy to hear this canonized as Davesprite's theme.

I heard the tune ages ago as a track called Hawkeye, which I presumed was created in response to the teaser of Dave's seppucrow sprite. Basically, this track was Dave's version of Nannasprite's "Harlequin."

Hawkeye was later remixed into tracks like Sunsetter. It's kind of nice seeing it reassociated with his sprite theme.
