Great sound but still a pipe organ will sound always better thats because you cant expect speakers to drive so many different frequencies at one time. But of course maintainence is much less and it takes less space and probably the cost of an equivalent pipe organ would be much more. especially if you have a 32 ' rank and in very rare cases a 64'. And then you can hve a combination or orchestral stops too.

What do the Opus series cost ?.especially if the 'budget' model was under 200,000 $ US?

La grande oeuvre symphonique pour orgue de César Franck, une pièce d'une richesse incroyable et demandant une technique sans faille à l'organiste. Cela fait maintenant presque deux ans que je la travaille parmis tant d'autres et elle n'a pas manqué de faire évoluer mon jeu lors de mes entraînements quotidiens et je suis encore loin de la maîtriser parfaitement.

Mr l'interprète, je ne suis peut-être pas encore en mesure de pouvoir critiquer votre jeu, mais tout de même... Sur un electronium...

His interpreatation is his own way of putting it. We can meen whatever we want of that. But, to look past the fact that there is a better organ for symphonic literatur right in front the performer only tells me that those things isnt that important. So, he can play this marvelous and and majestetic music with the interpretation he wishes. But to play it on a "electronium" is for me the biggest riddle. :-/

i think you both need to open your minds! It's all about the digital technology that Rodgers uses. Rodgers is the leading digital organ company. Plus, I believe this concert was featuring both organs.

I have heard this magnificent piece quite a lot, but the interpretation of mr. Marshall is really bad, really bad. The best one I've ever heard was Daniel Roth playing this piece. And I do agree with you edolch, the organ on which he is playing is awfull.

It REALLY pisses me off that there is a REAL ORGAN right there a few feet away and yet this guy is playing on that damn toaster. That's absolutely ridiculous.

My church has a new rodgers and we fooled members of the snotty AGO who thought it was a Casavant..they stormed out of the church like a bunch of spoiled self-righteous little brats...And you sir would never be able to tell the difference either. @oofahman And that would be because you don't know what to listen for. Rodgers, Allen, Johannus, all of the toaster companies should give it up. If a church only has $50,000 to spend, it's a small church. So spend $50,000 and build a decent pipe organ of around 10 ranks...as long as it's a good builder, those 10 ranks will do amazing things. And no, I'm pissed because he is choosing to play a toaster rather than the gorgeous instrument in Methuen...like I said.

@edolch Don't get your panties in bunch, Miss Edloch...you just can't believe what you hear from digitals organs nowadays and that's why your're pissed..and you SHOULD be!! At least with digitals you don't a complete rebuild of your catalytic converters every 30 to 40 years costing the church THOUSANDS and THOUSANDS of dollars that could be put to use feeding the hungry, clothing the naked, helping the poor, etc. And i most certainly DO know what I'm listening for, biatch. @oofahman Well you obviously aren't a professional musician with and I'm sure you have no idea what you're listening for. You also obviously aren't a professional because you have no idea the costs of keeping a pipe organ in good condition or keeping a toaster in good condition. You don't have to rebuild things in a real organ every 30 to 40 years...as long as you just maintain it. Toasters on the other hand simply burn up. They don't last and that's been proven time and time again. Pipe lasts.

@oofahman Yes, I do know what I can do with my pipes; I can play them for many, many years to come as long as they are properly and regularly cared for at minimal expense. However, your toaster will have failed after a maximum of 20 years. And when you try to insult somebody who is a professional and does make a career out of playing and maintaining actual pipe organs by saying they "haven't got the brains God gave a rat," you are really just making yourself look like a fool. @oofahman And no matter how good you want to claim they sound, they will never trick a trained ear. There is no reason at all to support them with such ignorant enthusiasm as you have. That is unless you are just trying to make sense of why your church would make such a stupid decision and buy one. Toasters don't last, they don't sound great, they aren't work the money, and again, the reason I'm angry is that people like you would prefer such a piece of crap instead of a real instrument.
