  • Chevelle rocked their song, it gets me through tough times everytime, Deftones is one i listen to when im on a sour level, mainly through rush hour! Both great and different forsure!

  • Chevelle

  • Deftones. That sound was pretty damn pioneer for 1997. unfortunately, chevelle had that riff in 2002, but there were so many other bands with that sound by then. They all got mushed together in New metal.

    So... Deftones

  • Huge similarity. Doesn't mean they copied. Chevelle sounds stronger though, and their a trio.

  • Chevelle all the way. hands down

  • Very similar riffs, WAY different feels and atmospheres. No theft. In this case, deftones has the better song, but to me, chevelle wins in general.

  • Lmao anyone who says chevelle can even come close to the deftones is already dead. And thats coming from someone who loves both bands. Deftones - *

  • Pete sings AND plays at the same time... CheVelle win.

  • @HisCircus Deftones singer also plays guitar and sings at the same time on other songs. Dumbass.

  • @enongirl409 that would be scary but if they ever do a concert together they should play both songs together and take turns at singing lol and i would be on Deftones side if there was a fight at a concert lol :p Go chino!

  • To see Deftones n Chevelle at the same concert, would be the worst day ever, cause I would be taken to a hospital and miss such an amazing event

  • i preffer chevelle

  • @JoAxInJoKeR ... chevelle????? Fake tool meets fake tones meets fake helmet..... ok at best but have no sound of their own

  • lolz Deftones stealed that from Hum - Stars and then Chevelle stealed it from Deftones

  • @smrditikoule what??? Hum ( a good band at best) song stars sounds nothing like bqd or spb....

  • @daniels0719 deftones admitted that Hum was a big influence on them and they use the same riff as in Stars, though in different tuning. chevelle did the same thing with even lower tuning

  • @smrditikoule no tones did not... u have proof paste it on here where it states hum as an influence... lol u just keep making shit up to pretend u know things about bands that others dont.

  • @daniels0719 write in google "Deftones' Chino Moreno Chooses His Top 13 Albums"

    number 7 is Hum

get some info before posting shit

  • @smrditikoule No, the riffs sound similar and influenced Deftones, but it sounds extremely different.

  • Fuck you mann. Stealin this video.

  • what i cant stand is when people just skip to conclusions and just root for the band that they like better. Plus what some people dont know but should know is that every song from every band is influenced by the ones before them.

  • @MrHentaination Oh yeah... I kind of forgot that.

  • My sister who barely listens to Chevelle and doesn't listen to Deftones noticed the similarity when I played Be Quiet And Drive for her to hear.

But yeah, Chevelle is one of my favorite bands, BUT, Deftones are on another level, Deftones are gods. Without Deftones, Chevelle wouldn't even be a band.

Now, while both songs are great, Be Quiet And Drive is hugely superior.

  • @sparkedindignation7 Chevelle draws from Tool, not Deftones. They're not one of their influences.

  • @MrHentaination And you kno this how?? u in the band??? Chevelle= TONES, Tool, and helmet.... but u know it all... prob gonna tell me some other lame shit after u read this...

  • @daniels0719 No, they even mention their influences numerous times. Deftones are a godly band but they clearly don't take inspiration from them. If so, they would have mentioned a band like Deftones.

  • @MrHentaination...chevelle doesnt have to say every influnce they have its in their music. Noone ever mentions helmet or faith no more (but afew bands) but u can hear it in almost every nu metal band/alt metal band.

  • :( i hate to admit that chevelle did take it. they both freakin rock! i never noticed that before

  • Dude!! That is just ONE SONG out of MANY to consider. Why base this theory upon one song from each band??? If you really want to take the "Deftones=Chevelle" theory. Go find a song from each album from each band. Then re post.

  • deftones are way better

    chevelle kinda sucks

    kinda really sucks

  • @asasassify Chino Moreno is definately a more unique vocalist but you have to give props to Pete Loeffler because he's playing guitar and singing whereas most songs Chino doesn't play a guitar. The drumming is about equal between Sam Loeffler and Abe Cunningham I really give props to Steven Carpenter though on the 8 string guitar. You can't really compare the two bands because its not like they play similar styles at all.

  • @dungsitta

Its just my opinion. >.< Ive heard Chevelles on the radio, but not Deftones.

First time ive heard Deftones song.

  • Well i like them both. But apparently Chevelles was more popular. <33

I think Chevelles is more catchier.

  • chevelle. fuck you guys who say they plagiarized

  • @unlovingfilms no one copied anyone. I think I like deftones better but Chevelle are still one of the best bands

  • @unlovingfilms lol this statement=whack

  • chevelle for the win

  • How about both of them all the way?

  • Deftones for life!!!!!!

  • Chevelle all the way !!!!

  • @LegacyMG deftones was.. yaknow...first

  • @2323jgrant But, Chevelle= Better.

  • @redrose588 hardly

  • @redrose588 u=whack

  • hey there

remember me, u stole my video

    go fuck yourself

    music theifs??

    arent you fuckin cool

  • wow comparing a two step to a 4 step really? I mean yeah they almost sound similar if your only comparing deftones playing a full bar then a drop down full bar and comparing chevelle playing a full bar then a drop then a full bar then a drop times 2 more. yeah totally copying. theres only 13 notes to choose from at various octaves there will be repetitions. maybe chevelles paying homage to deftones. maybe its a coincidence who knows or cares. both are great songs by great bands.

  • @asasassify hes counting A to A (13) as a whole otherwise its A to Asharp(12) as a whole

  • @AngryWhiteBoy09 pretty sure strum pattern and exact same melody in different octaves is copying

  • Deftones

  • Deftones are my favorite band ever but i still really like chevelle alot. I think they are both 2 very talented amazing bands

  • I LIKE BOTH BANDS I THINK THAT CHEVELLE DEFINITELY HAVE THEIR OWN SOUND!!!!!!!!! but the deftones they kick ass and still are my fav band to this day

  • Deftones have been around longer....I vote deftones hands down

  • Yo también me he dado cuenta de la similitud, pero no creo que sea un plagio.

I love both Chevelle & Deftones

  • Umm...the Deftones one is different from Chevelle's. Deftone's is just two chords repeated while Chevelle's is three repeated. I vote Chevelle even though the Deftones one is different.

  • i vote chevelle

  • Totally agree with you!!

  • Deftones is the best no one can compare to deftones

  • hahaha ya man when I first heard this song some years back from chevelle I was like yo those fuckers stole be quiet and drive all the way. How does a band get away with that???????? Dope song but its Deftones...... Sorry chevelle.

  • Shit! Me and my buddy have been talking about this for a while and say the same thing. Maybe...maybe not, the guys from Chevelle came with the same riff on accident, or its another Vanilla Ice scenario. Deftones are my favorite...and Chevelle are good to. We'll give Chevelle a pass on this one but the Deftones are far superior.

  • chevelle wouldnt where they are at if it wasnt for the deftones

  • Deftones isn't even one of Chevelle's insparations. Tool and Helmet are their main inspirations. Chevelle came up with the riff on accident and Chevelle's is a little different. The rythym's the same but there is another chord added in.

  • thats not what i heard in interviews well...no they were not said to be a "main" influence but i heard that they were "an" influence.

  • I haven't read or seen any Chevelle interview's that Deftones was an inspiration to them. Well, if that's true, they're still not a main inspiration to them.

  • i never said they were a main influence to them....and your 100% wrong about deftones only repeating only 2 chords.....listen to there new stuff and u will know what im talking about

  • I meant, the song "Be Quiet and Drive". I'm not saying that Deftones is a bad band but I'm just saying that "Be Quiet and Drive" and "Send the Pain Below" are different. Same beat. different chord progression.

  • deftones all the way
